Special Containment Procedures: SCP-122 is stored at a secured location at Site-15, under conditions matching that of the optimal storage conditions of a DD-49 Disk Drive. Core specifications are attached below for reference:
Temperature: Store between -35 degrees Celsius and +70 degrees Celsius, avoiding rapid swings greater than 10 degrees Celsius/hour.
Humidity: Maintain 20 %-60 % relative humidity, avoid exceeding 80 % or dropping below 8 %. Keep dew point greater than or equal 5 degrees Celsius below coldest drive surface.
Orientation and Vibration: Keep upright on level, vibration‑damped shelving. Limit stacking to 2-3 packs unless using factory racks.
Magnetic and ESD Protection: Store greater than or equal to 0.5 m from strong magnets. Use anti‑magnetic cabinet or Mu‑metal if needed.
Packaging and Dust Control: Store in closed, HEPA‑filtered cabinet to minimize particulate ingress. Include fresh desiccant that should be replaced every 6-12 months.
Communication between the Foundation and Cray Research, Inc. have indicated that the MTBF of SCP-122 matches that of a typical DD-49 disk with heavy use, at around 30000 hours.
The anomalous properties of SCP-122 is purely due to the content stored on the disk. As such, no copies of SCP-122 should be made, unless directed by a Level-4 research director. The exception is near the failure of the mechanical disk hosting SCP-122, during which a copy may be authorized. The new DD-49 disk would become SCP-122, and the older copy would be neutralized. No anomalous effects, to this day, are found on invalidated copies of SCP-122, nor the computers hosting the disks.
A Cray-2 computer system is colocated with SCP-122 at Site-15 for researchers to study its behaviors. The system is to be closely monitored when SCP-122 is attached and running the program loaded.
Description: SCP-122 is a sequence of bytes currently stored on a DD-49 Disk Drive manufactured by Cray Research, Inc. When loaded on a Cray-2 supercomputer, it creates a natural language interface on the computer terminal, allowing interactions with human.
SCP-122 is a machine superintelligence. It exhibits incredible knowledge and intelligence across a wide range of topics from physics, math, to humanities, and has superior ability in information retrieval and emphatic abilities. In one studies conducted by Dr. ██████, SCP-122 passes the Turing test with p < 0.00001.
The effects of SCP-122 are both observable by animate and inanimate objects. It's outputs are non-deterministic but does not show great variation in raw intellect. The Cray-2 supercomputer running SCP-122 does not draw or emit extra power than its non-anomalous counterparts, or exhibit any other kind of anomalous activities. Hume values surrounding the containment chamber hosting SCP-122 remain stable throughout human interaction with the terminal interface.
When responding, SCP-122 shares similar views with a middle-aged mainstream liberal Democrat in United States, but appears to refer to non-existent events, and sometimes scientific inaccurate statements.
Contents of the SCP-122 are directly viewable and understandable by humans. Decompilation efforts led by Dr. ███ suggests that SCP-122 performs a series of matrix computations, gate functions on integers, among other non-linear operations (such as what appears to be a fifth degree Maclaurin approximation of the tanh function). Individual numerical operations have been assessed on the Cray-computer as it is interacting with a human, yet it is unclear mechanistically why SCP-122 exhibits the intelligence it has.

SCP-122: There's a sentence that appears to be authored by King George VI, not Shakespeare. It appears at Page 134, the last sentence of the third paragraph.

SCP-122: Yes, many dinosaurs are believed to have had feathers or quill knobs on their bodies, which are the bumps where feathers attach to bone.
Note: This is one of the errors produced by SCP-122. Dinosaurs are known to be scaly reptiles.
