Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment tank, properly filtered, from the hours of 21:00 to 06:00. SCP-XXXX is allowed to enter the 10m x 10m x 10m containment tank with SCP-XXXX-2 through -100 during the hours of 06:30 to 20:30.
SCP-XXXX-2 through -100 are to be closely monitored at all times by video surveillance. Footage is to be reviewed and stored securely at the end of each day.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a pistol shrimp (alpheus heterochaelis) measuring roughly 4 cm in length. SCP-XXXX has an abnormally complex brain, similar in structure to that of a human. It uses its heightened intelligence to imitate human behavior it observes. SCP-XXXX also affects other pistol shrimp around it through means of education.
SCP-XXXX-2 through -100 are a group of 99 pistol shrimp who've been affected by SCP-XXXX and have similarly high intelligence to SCP-XXXX due to its education.
SCP-XXXX was discovered on 17/07/2025, 2 kilometers east of the Floridian coast, by Naval Task Force Rho-17. The following text is a transmission from NTF Rho-17 documenting the discovery of SCP-XXXX.

Lieutenant-02: What are you doing out here?
Ensign-03: Waiting. Waiting for the day to end. It feels like we've been out here for years. We haven't found anything out here.
Lieutenant-02: Well, we have on week left. That's it. Even if it's been a waste of everyone's time, isn't it nice to get away from plain concrete walls of Foundation Sites?
Ensign-03: I guess. But there's just nothing interesting around here.
Lieutenant-02: Well, we saw that whale yesterday, if nothing else.
Ensign-03: …
Lieutenant-02: Well it's about lunch time… I better get going.
(Ensign-03 stands in silence for several minutes before a faint clicking sound is heard)
Ensign-03: What jackass is making that noise? It's pissing me off!
Lieutenant-02 (Distantly): What are you talking about?
Ensign-03: Huh? It's not coming from the ship?
(Lieutenant-02 walks over to Ensign-03)
Ensign-03: Do you hear clicking?
Lieutenant-02: Yeah… It sounds like it's coming from the water.
Ensign-03:I'm gonna go find whatever's making that noise.
Lieutenant-02: Don't! We have more important matters-
Ensign-03: What if it's an anomaly?
Lieutenant-02: Fine. But don't take long.
(Ensign-03 equips swimming gear)
Lieutenant-02: Don't drown.
Ensign-03: I'll try not to.
(Ensign-03 goes underwater momentarily before resurfacing)
Lieutenant-02: What'd you find?
Ensign-03: A shrimp.
Lieutenant-02: A shrimp?
Ensign-03: Yup. It's been using its claws to make that clicking sound.
Lieutenant-02: It sounds like Morse code. In fact, we sent a signal earlier today that sounded just like that.
Ensign-03: Strange. Thinking about keeping it in my quarters sorta like a pet.
Lieutenant-02: I don't see why not.
Ensign-03: Interesting little fellow.

SCP-XXXX was brought back to Site-99 1 week after the transmission by NTF Rho-17. It stayed in Rho-17's site living quarters for another 5 days before it was confiscated by Researcher ██████ for perceived anomalous properties.
Following its confiscation by Researcher ██████, SCP-XXXX was placed in its current containment tank, where it was exposed to Morse code for several hours each day for 3 weeks until it was able to fluently communicate in Morse code, and then closely taught by Researcher ██████ for another week to improve its speech and grammar.
Following this, SCP-XXXX was interviewed by Researcher ██████.

Researcher ██████: Couldn't have guessed. Anyways, I'm here to ask you a few questions. First, how long have been able to understand Human behavior?
SCP-XXXX: As long as I can remember, Which isn't very long. Now it's my turn to ask you a question-
Researcher ██████: That's not how interviews work.
SCP-XXXX: Sorry, you know I'm new here.
Researcher ██████: Next question, why do you imitate humans?
SCP-XXXX: They're vastly interesting. They help each other, fight with each other, they feel things. All I want is t know what it's like.
Researcher ██████: Next question. Uh… that's all. I guess this was just a shorter interview.

Following the interview, an experiment was started to observe the effects SCP-XXXX had on other pistol shrimp. SCP-XXXX was placed in a large tank with 99 other pistol shrimp. SCP-XXXX was given one objective during the experiment, Educate the other shrimp on Humans and the way they live.
The first weeks of the experiment were dedicated to SCP-XXXX-2 through -100 learning Morse code. Due to this, a majority of interactions between the SCP subjects during these weeks. After SCP-XXXX had successfully taught SCP-XXXX-2 through -100 Morse code, the experiment began its next objective of getting the SCP subjects to establish their own settlement.
The remainder of the experiment has been transcribed from Morse code. The following transcriptions are important documents pertaining to the experiment.

SCP-XXXX: There's plenty of resources for us to use under the sand, and for compensation, you get somewhere to live.
SCP-XXXX-100: Still not good compensation, but at least it's something.
SCP-XXXX: Well, I guess you can't please everyone, even if you try. Anyways, -2 through -50, you're on building duty. -51 through -100, you gather the resources. I'll supervise.
SCP-XXXX-60: (To SCP-XXXX-98) We finally get to use are claws for something. Not quite using it to shoot down fish though.
SCP-XXXX-98: Agreed.
SCP-XXXX-2: (To SCP-XXXX) Do we even have any starting materials?
SCP-XXXX: I've stockpiled some, but they won't last us long.
SCP-XXXX-2 (To SCP-XXXX-33) Was kinda hoping to catch a break today, but I'm not the one in charge here.
SCP-XXXX-33: Yeah. I think we should really get more say around here.
SCP-XXXX-2: Yeah, you're right.

SCP-XXXX: Good work, friends, we'll be back tomorrow, but t shouldn't take much longer.
SCP-XXXX-100: Before we all disperse, I'd like to inform you that some of your hard workers have made some complaints about your leadership.
SCP-XXXX: Well I'm always open to suggestions. In fact, as soon as we get this city built, I'll let you tell me your suggestions for the city.

SCP-XXXX-78: I want to open a place where you can sit down and eat freshly prepared food.
SCP-XXXX:* A restaurant?
SCP-XXXX-78: Yeah.

SCP-XXXX: How would I do that? I can't just let random people run this place! We need to find someone best fit for the job. Although this position is pretty stressful.

SCP-XXXX-33 Me? No. Except, I would like some say in what you do to this city. It's mine too after all.

SCP-XXXX-52: I want to help you with all the work you have to deal with.

SCP-XXXX: You've been a real help, but it's just all getting to me. The military disobedience, the protests, rumors of a coup. I just don't feel like I'm worthy to lead this city.
SCP-XXXX-52: Yeah I get it. It was hard living out in the ocean, everything wanting to kill you and all, but never have I experienced stress. And it's even worse for you. If you feel unworthy, just do that election thingy you were talking about.
SCP-XXXX: If it's what the people want, give it to them.
SCP-XXXX-52: Okay. Would you like me to announce the election to everyone?
SCP-XXXX: No, I can do it.
(SCP-XXXX walks up onto a podium and gains everyone's attention)
**SCP-XXXX: Friends, I'd like to announce that I am starting an election. Essentially, you decide who gets to lead the city, and anyone can run for head of the city.
SCP-XXXX-33: (To SCP-XXXX-2) Finally! He does listen to us!
SCP-XXXX-2: All I know is that he's got my support for that.
SCP-XXXX-33: You should run, you'd get my support! And even if you lose, you'll still have some fun.
SCP-XXXX-2: I definitely couldn't. I'd spend all my time on my campaign and none with you.
SCP-XXXX-33: Ah, you got me there.
SCP-XXXX-98: (To SCP-XXXX-60) I'm gonna run and make sure our military prowess is unrivaled when I win.
SCP-XXXX-60: Hell yeah, brother!
**SCP-XXXX-100 (//To SCP-XXXX) I'd like to run in this election. But I must ask you, what do you stand for, politically?
SCP-XXXX: I stand for the people.
SCP-XXXX-100: A bit of a weak response. What do the people stand for? I, however, do stand for something, a thriving economy and making our city a dominant force.
SCP-XXXX: I believe that everyone is worth something, as humans do.
SCP-XXXX-100: What is with you and humans? They have nothing to do with us.
