Special Containment Procedures: All speed limits in the anomalous stretch of road must be changed to below 30. A temporary base of operations has been set up in a formerly abandoned house on the road. In the case of a vehicle accident, Foundation personnel staffed in area hospitals or located at that base shall identify any observers of the crash and dose them with Class-A amnestics. Signs warning of deer crossing must be placed on the side of the road.
Description: SCP-xxxx-1 is the classification for a 0.98 kilometer stretch of Virginia State Route 297 in ███████ County, Virginia. SCP-xxxx-2 is the classification for an unknown number of genetically normal individuals of the species Odocoileus virginianus. The anomalous properties of these individuals seem only to materialize when a specific set of circumstances are met:
- A vehicle is being driven at a speed of over 55 miles per hour
- The vehicle is not responding to some sort of emergency
- The vehicle is above the speed for at least 10 seconds
In the case of these criteria being met, an instance of SCP-xxxx-2 will appear approximately 13 meters in front of the vehicle, on average 25.6 seconds after speeds exceeded 55 miles per hour in the zone. These instances do not seem to have any other anomalous properties, and are physically and genetically similar to normal members of their species. It appears they appear from thin air and do not teleport into the location, as no unusual reduction of members of their species has been reported in the area.
