Chinchafirstofforty- SCP proposal 1

Object class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-xxxx’s containers must be of the double walled Dewar type, hermetically sealed and heavily monitored at all times for any sort of deformation. In addition, be composed of Inconel X or Hastelloy N and kept at a temperature no higher than -200 degrees Celsius. The containers must be suspended in anechoic chambers to reduce the noise they are exposed to. The chamber structure must be built of nuclear grade pretensioned and tungsten reinforced concrete with no structural wall being less than 10 meters thick. No hard corners may be present in the structure due to those being weak to concentrated explosive forces and amplifying any noise present. All hard structural surfaces must be covered with sound absorbent paneling before SCP-xxxx is transported into it’s containment structure. No heavy machinery, construction, abrasive sounds, gunfire, or music (including headphones) may be permitted within 100 meters of the containment structures. At least one level 3 chemist with 5 years of direct experience with hypergolic substances must be present at all times. Contact with any other SCP, regardless of its nature, is strictly prohibited and any suggestion to use SCP-xxxx as a weapon or fuel is to be met with strict disciplinary action. As of 1/1/1967 all testing in every form is banned under directive order O5-1-13-’67-#72.

Any person exposed to a significant quantity (0.2 grams) of SCP-xxxx via inhalation, bodily contact, or other various means will die due to it's highly corrosive, volatile, and explosive nature. No rescue attempts must be permitted. For disposal of a body please read the relevant information in the Corps Disposal Manual, page 736.

Description:

SCP-xxxx is a chemical blend of 3 known and 3 unknown chemicals. It’s only known physical properties are its triple point which is approximately -270 degrees Celsius at 8 bar, and its extreme sensitivity to sound. The known chemicals present are UDMH, Oxygen Trifluoride, and Decaborane. There are also several as yet unidentified substances one of which is thought to be some form of nitrogen dense compound.

Properties:

SCP-xxxx’s properties stem from the mixture’s ability to remain stable despite being composed of several of the most highly energetic chemical fuels known to mankind. The amount of stability is still unknown but due to its composition no risks must be taken. The resulting explosion from an estimated 4 liters was far more devastating than any ordinary chemical reaction could produce under any circumstances.

History:

SCP-xxxx was first discovered by the Foundation when agents in Belarus reported the [REDACTED] chemical plant and the surrounding 10km radius was vaporized in 1964. It is estimated that the incident was caused by nearly 4 liters of the substance. The cause will never be completely determined due to ground zero having been turned into gases and blown away. Please note Foundation scientists are still uncertain if it was an explosion that caused this event.

However the local state authority (then on friendly terms with the foundation) denied any explosion when official Foundation personnel inquired about it, however. Eventually some 1,000,000 liters of SCP-xxxx was successfully produced for the Soviet government by the [EXPUNGED] chemical plant some 20 miles downriver. It was eventualy revealed that SCP-xxxx’s main purpose for use in the Soviet moon program. Fear however, of it’s hazardous transport spurred local politicians [Governor's, town mayors etc] to join forces with the Foundation in acquiring SCP-xxxx from soviet rail yards where it was being prepared to be shipped. This was accomplished by sending in a large police force headed by Foundation Task Force 7 (not an MTF unit). Fortunately no GOIs were present due to [EXPUNGED]. Currently the Foundation now has in its possession approximately 700,000 liters of SCP-xxxx. It is unknown at this time where the missing 300,000 liters is or when it went missing as that the discovery was made in [EXPUNGED].
