Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of 182 .308-caliber semi-automatic hunting rifles originally sold under the name “Venison Machine”. The make purported to be “█████ Arms”, but this is a firearms manufacturing company which had already ceased operations in 19██, well before the creation of these rifles. No records indicate the actual company was involved in the manufacturing of SCP-XXXX.

200 such rifles were manufactured and sold to hunting specialty stores in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Foundation was made aware of their existence after 12 deer hunters in these states were injured in the fall and winter of 20██ and early 20██. Nine hunters received minor lacerations and burns, one was partially blinded, and two were killed when the rifles exploded upon being fired. All survivors reported employing proper handling procedures and cleaning, and all victims had test-fired the rifles prior to their hunting trips. Subsequently, the Foundation purchased the remaining rifles from stores. Those which had already been sold were confiscated by Mobile Task Force Beta-9 (“Well-Regulated Militia”), with the exception of one rifle, which had already been reported stolen from its owner's truck and has not yet been located.

SCP-XXXX are middle-of-the-line hunting rifles which operate normally under most conditions. However, when an SCP-XXXX is fired at a deer,
elk, or moose1, it will explode, injuring the user.
