SCP-XXXX pictured from Foundation sattelite. Scale added for convenience.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: At a depth of 2 km, a concrete barrier reinforced with steel has been constructed. This barrier has been constructed with the addition of an airlock only accessible by research and mobile task force personnel of level-3 clearance or higher.
The barrier containing SCP-XXXX is to be secured by Mobile Task Force Zeta-9 ("Mole Rats"). Officials of NASA are to be allowed to enter and exit accompanied by agents of Zeta-9 [See North American Information Sharing Agreement].
Any and all reconnaissance missions are to be carried out by specialized robotic apparatuses.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a naturally-formed cave located on Earth's moon. SCP-XXXX measures approximately 32 km in depth and 80 m in length.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties manifest at all points from 3 km below the surface and of lower depth. At this point, the material the tunnel was created from slowly transforms into that of a fleshy substance.
Any and all additions to this article following Incident 783/352 have been written in blue.
Item #: SCP-783
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: An external covering constructed entirely of concrete measuring at least 2 m in thickness is to be deployed surrounding SCP-783. On the inside of this covering, an airlock secured by two metal doors on each side is to be constructed for secure entrance and exit into SCP-783. Bimonthly maintenance is to be conducted upon this protective layer to ensure it is kept in utmost condition.
Any and all surveillance of the interior of SCP-783 is to be conducted by a reconnaissance drone operated by research personnel no lower than level-2 in terms of clearance.
Description: SCP-783 is a cottage located in Zabaykalsky National Park (Забайкальский национальный парк), Russia. The external foundation of SCP-783 is constructed entirely of worn stone, measuring as a near-perfect ~7 m² cube. The foundation lacks any form of windows and only contains a singular aperture with the shared purpose as both an entrance and an exit.
The interior of SCP-783 consists of a fireplace, a painting of an unidentified elderly woman hung above, animal skins and furs used for decoration (such as rugs), and a singular rocking chair constructed of wood. Further inspection of SCP-783's decor has proven impossible due to its primary anomalous property.
Upon any biological organism's entrance into SCP-783, its primary anomalous property will manifest. Immediately following the organism's entrance, the subject will undergo a series of varying mutations (subject is hereby referred to as SCP-783-1). Instances of SCP-783-1 inevitably die from the mutations.
SCP-783-2 is an elderly woman who is protected by living instances of SCP-783-1. SCP-783-2 stands at ~1.7 m and dons an old dress constructed of rag. SCP-783-2 currently suffers from dementia which has increased difficulty in historical research of SCP-783. Further research into SCP-783-2 is ongoing.
Addendum 783-1: Below is a compilation of organisms subject to SCP-783's anomalous property.
| Specimen | Description: | Time Elapsed |
| Common house cat (Felis Catus) | Upon entry, the specimen immediately began to uncontrollably regurgitate. During this time, SCP-783-1's stomach was under transformation into a venom sac. SCP-783-1's whiskers shrunk at incredible speeds, and its physicality began to alter into that of a shark's. | 2 min, 44 sec. |
| Devil's flower mantis (Idolomantis diabolica) | The SCP-783-1 specimen's mass began to grow at an extremely accelerated rate. Its exoskeleton began to thicken and alter in color to that of a magenta hue. SCP-783-1 then proceeded to gut itself, as to which point a large parasite (also affected by SCP-783) burst out of SCP-783-1's internal cavities. | 37 sec. |
| European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) | SCP-783-1 immediately began to circle the wooden chair located inside whilst its feet expanded in width. SCP-783-1 then stopped in its place and died for a reason unknown. | 59 sec. |
Addendum 783-2: On ██/██/20██, a specimen of SCP-783-1 breached from within SCP-783. One D-Class personnel survived the incident, deemed D-783-1-52.
Below is an interview with D-783-1-52 conducted by Dr. Chirban.
Interviewer: Researcher Colin Chirban
Interviewee: D-783-1-52
Researcher Chirban: Do you recall the event you experienced with SCP-783?
D-783-1-52: I will never fucking forget it, doc.
Researcher Chirban: Can you explain what had occurred?
D-783-1-52: It was me and another guy. I think his name was Yuri?1 They sent a tick in the cottage. They wanted Yuri and me to go in and fetch it.
Researcher Chirban: Odd. That's against pro— Nevermind that. What happened next?
D-783-1-52: They opened the airlock. And, uhm, by they, I mean the eggheads. Yuri and I stepped up, and we looked in. They asked us if we saw anything before we were supposed to go in. I said no. I was— uhm, I was wrong.
Researcher Chirban: Please continue.
D-783-1-52: Almost as soon as I said that, this thing popped the fuck out and grabbed him. Yuri.
Researcher Chirban: "This thing?" What do you mean by that?
D-783-1-52: A tentacle, doc. A giant fucking tentacle.
Researcher Chirban: Continue.
D-783-1-52: Well, it grabbed him, and this real[ly] loud noise came out from within the cottage. It pulled him in, and all I could hear was the combination of that fucking noise and Yuri's screams.
Researcher Chirban: Can you describe the entity?
D-783-1-52: I don't know what you want me to say. It was a tentacle. Pink. Long. Sticky. Et cetera.
Researcher Chirban: Resume with the chronological timeline of events.
D-783-1-52: Naturally, I backed the fuck up out of there. Yuri's screams stopped, and I just heard a bunch of crunching. Your fucking soldiers just pushed me out of the way and got into some kind'a tactical position with their rifles aimed at the airlock.
Researcher Chirban: I'm assuming quite the predicament followed.
D-783-1-52: Yeah, it did. They, uh— the thing came out. It destroyed whatever barrier you had and squeezed out of the door, which is when your soldiers opened fire.
(Pause.)
D-783-1-52: I'm sure you already know. It killed them all. All of your doctors, all of your soldiers, and Yuri. It was going to kill me, too, but, uhm—
Researcher Chirban: Yes?
D-783-1-52: This woman came out of the cottage. Real[ly] old motherfucker. She looked like a fisherwoman or something.2 She called to the squid-thing.
Researcher Chirban: What were her words?
D-783-1-52: Se just told it to come back in. I can't remember the exact words, but it was somethin' like, "knock it off and get inside." I think she said its name, too, but I don't remember what it was.
Researcher Chirban: What happened following this woman talking to it?
D-783-1-52: It just… went back in, I guess. Squeezed itself through the door, and then it shut. I sat there until more of your soldiers came.
Researcher Chirban: Thank you for your time.
Afterword: It is to note that this situation has been officially documented as Incident 783-B. Upon Mobile Task Force arrival following the slaughter of personnel, a specialized reconnaissance drone was deployed and entered SCP-783. The interior held no abnormalities from its original description and neither of the entities were to be found.
Addendum 783/352-1: SCP-352 recently expressed knowledge and interest of SCP-783 despite not being informed of its existence. This sudden reveal of knowledge was accompanied by threats towards research personnel. The majority of words spoken by SCP-352 have yet to be translated due to its dialect.
Following this reveal, reports regarding the sightings of "witches" in Zabaykalsky National Park have increased exponentially in frequency. The entities described in the reports have yet to be found.
Addendum 783-3: Starting around █/██/20██, subjects that were intended to become instances of SCP-783-1 for the purpose of further study were becoming unable to be recovered from within SCP-783 at an increasing frequency.
Upon a reconnaissance mission using robotic apparatuses, an elderly woman identical to the one pictured on the painting above the fireplace was discovered. At the time, the woman was sitting idly on the wooden rocking chair. The individual has since been deemed SCP-783-2.
Below is an interview conducted by Dr. Chirban and SCP-783-2.
Interviewer: Researcher Colin Chirban
Interviewee: SCP-783-2
Researcher Chirban: Hello, ma'am.
SCP-783-2: You're not going to hurt them, are you?
Researcher Chirban: Hurt who?
SCP-783-2: Them. My pets.
Researcher Chirban: I cannot make any promises, ma'am.
SCP-783-2: They only have good intentions! I swear upon my life!
Researcher Chirban: Can you go further into detail about that?
SCP-783-2: My sister told me that this house would protect me. It just wants somebody. It's lonely— like I was.
Researcher Chirban: And what cured this "loneliness?"
SCP-783-2: I was there for the house. And it rewarded me with my pets. They protect us both, and they give me someone to talk to.
Researcher Chirban: Who is your sister?
SCP-783-2: I don't know. I just remember her telling me to go here, and that I would be safe.
Researcher Chirban: How long have you been living here?
SCP-783-2: Oh, dear. I can't remember.
Researcher Chirban: That's quite alright. Why haven't we been able to see you and the surviving subjects until recently?
SCP-783-2: It's the house. It protects us all. It keeps us in its mouth until the men outside have gone away.
Researcher Chirban: By "us all," do you mean the subjects of SCP-783-1?
SCP-783-2: I think so.
Researcher Chirban: Why does it protect you?
SCP-783-2: Oh, I forget this a lot. My sister wrote notes in its mouth to keep me from forgetting why I'm here. My sister made it as an— what is that word?
Researcher Chirban: Asylum?
SCP-783-2: Yes, the kind of protection.
Researcher Chirban: What happens if we take you out of SCP-783?3
SCP-783-2: My sister said she'll kill 'ya. Kill 'ya, you hear! Kill 'ya!
At this point in the interview, SCP-783-2 grabbed the apparatus and threw it into SCP-783's internal fireplace. No further communication attempts have been successful.
Addendum 783-4: On █/██/20██, two humanoid entities, both similar in appearance to SCP-783-2, manifested inside of SCP-783. The following is a recording of their conversation by a reconnaissance drone.
Humanoid-A: Do you think she's found home here?
Humanoid-B: Where else is she gonna find a home?
Humanoid-A: Yeah, you're right, sis.
Humanoid-B: I know I am, but we gotta bust 'er out of here.
Humanoid-A: Just her? They got both of 'em locked up!
Humanoid-B: I thought it was just this 'un.
Humanoid-A: No, not at all. They got both of them.
Humanoid-B: Well, we need to bust both of them out, then.
Humanoid-A: We've tried to bust Yaga out, sis! It didn't go so well, remember?
Humanoid-B: If we can just return 'er back here, at home with 'er sisters, then we can all be fine, yeah?
Humanoid-A: That's not as easy as it sounds. It took centuries to get Zofia here, and they didn't even have Zofia locked up! They've got Yaga, and it'll take even longer to get 'er here.
Humanoid-B: It's worth getting back together as a family though, right?
Humanoid-A: Da, I suppo—
At this point, Humanoid-A spots the apparatus.
Humanoid-A: Shit! They've been listening to us, sis! Kill it, kill it!
Both of the humanoids crush the drone using blunt force. When another drone was sent in to recover the broken apparatus, both entities were gone.
The Spawn of Her, The Ocean
The Fivesquid, The Crocodilian Kraken, The Escapee, The Dread Behemoth, 𒀭𒋾𒊩𒆳, The Thing That Destroyed Hy-Brasil
Conspectus
The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, is a massive reptilian entity capable of great destruction.4 The Spawn has destroyed the island of Hy-Brasil and is responsible for hundreds of deaths. The destruction withstood has been deemed irreversable.
The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, has had its lifeforce removed from this plain by none other than the Bookburners accompanied by the Jailors. The Spawn's body lies idly at the ocean floor with Her, The Ocean, decomposing Her creation.
Knowledge
Traits: The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, is a kaiju from Japanese mythology of gargantuan proportions with the sole intent to cause death, suffering, and chaos. The Spawn's lower half consisted of an anatomy of a giant squid, whilst the upper half of The Spawn was a modified version of common predatory reptiles.
Nature: The nature of The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, is purely of destruction. The Spawn shows no remorse towards any form of life, including other aquatic giants. Characteristics consist of pure evil bottled into a physical form created by Her, The Ocean.
The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, has an extreme regenerative capability similar to that of Summer's Exile. This regenerative capability has been abused to purely assist in the semi-indestructible cause of death. This violent nature accompanied by near immortality is responsible for thousands of deaths.
Attempting to perform direct damage to The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, will lead to The Spawn's attention being switched to the object or individual responsible for the pain inducted. This is extremely similar to the reaction of a crocodilian creature.
History & Associated Parties: The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, was created from the depths of all five oceans and seven seas. The Spawn came to the attention of both the Bookburners and the Jailors upon the offensive attack of three civilian aquatic vehicles, resulting in the deaths of all attending. Following this, The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, returned to the depths to grow stronger.
Whilst in the depths, The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, began to adapt quickly to the threats being faced. This adaption was used primarily for survival, but its overall effect was purely on the lack of survival for other species. The Spawn thrived on its gargantuan size to perform mass destruction.
On a date undocumented, The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, breached the surface of the water near the island of Hy-Brasil. The Bookburners and Jailors responded immediately to The Spawn, attempting to destroy it or lock it away like they have done to knowledge in the past.
The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, began its destructive reign onto Hy-Brasil. Attacks were continuously made by the populace of the island, yet nothing seemed to injure The Spawn. Its reign lasted several hours before the Bookburners and Jailors were able to kill The Spawn.
It was hostile towards all life, including those also created by Her, The Ocean. Not once did The Spawn show mercy to any living organism. It displayed a burning passion of hatred towards life and carried out this ambition to its fullest.
Approach: The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, is not to be approached. Its corpse is heavily restricted through Bookburner and Jailor policy. If you are to approach The Spawn, never insult it, whether mentally or verbally. Approach is commonly not needed as not much can be done with The Spawn's lifeless mass.
Other Detail: There are possibly more than one manifestation of The Spawn of Her, The Ocean.56
Observations & Stories
Stories of The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, have been documented solely by the Merchants, Fools, Bookburners, and Jailors.
- Stories regarding the Merchants solely revolve around the use of The Spawn's eggs for dietary usage.
- Stories regarding the Fools revolve around the idea that Herman Fuller single-handedly maimed The Spawn and proceeded to use it for public entertainment. These stories are known to be fictional. Do not take their words into heart.
- Stories regarding the Bookburners revolve around the description and militaristic goal achieved with that goal being of The Spawn's destruction.
- Stories regarding the Jailors are heavily secretive and only one of which has been leaked. Hy-Brasil, referred to them by Nexus-03, was a previously documented nexus of Jailor usage. It reveals that the masquerade was not to be used within the confines of the island.
Further documentation has yet to be recovered due to the amazing capability of Her, The Ocean's, secrecy of Her projects.
Doubt
Doubt regarding The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, is strong and plentiful.
The reason why She, The Ocean, would create such a beast purely for the intent of destruction is unknown. Previous documentation refers to Her, The Ocean, creating violent beasts before, but never of this proportion. -PJ
Why Hy-Brasil? Why would she7 target an island that most populations of Earth do not know exists? -DF
Why is The Spawn of Her, The Ocean, such similar to Summer's Exile? -IB
GRANT REQUEST FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE CURRENT RENDITION OF THE MOBILE AQUATIC RESEARCH VESSELS DEFENSE SYSTEM (M.A.R.V.D.S)
PROBLEM
With the recent attack committed on Hy-Brasil by a previously unknown, gargantuan creature accompanied with the fact that we currently have only explored approximately 5% of all five oceans and seven seas, the threats posed by aquatic organisms are ever-growing. Not only is this organism (and many others) responsible for the thousands of lives lost on Hy-Brasil, but the destruction of research vessels under the ownership and operation of Prometheus Labs, Incorporated. The destruction presented is not only under the fault of the organism but also of current Prometheus Labs, Incorporated engineers. Our current MOBILE AQUATIC RESEARCH VESSELS DEFENSE SYSTEM is not able to face most challenges we will find ourselves facing below the depths of the five oceans.
SOLUTION
Currently, the MOBILE AQUATIC RESEARCH VESSELS DEFENSE SYSTEM (M.A.R.V.D.S.) consists of the ordinance and usage of small explosives, basic titanium plating of all vessels, highly concentrated beams of energy available to fire when needed, complex mining apparatuses, and an outer coating consisting of a basic cloaking material. These features presented have proved useful in the past, but vessels previously using the current version of M.A.R.V.D.S. has failed to perform its intended purpose in regards to the defense of Prometheus Labs vessels.
An upgrade to M.A.R.V.D.S., possibly with systems and features specialized for offense rather than defense, will only prove beneficial in regards to maintaining our vessels' protection against any and all external forces, be them organic or inorganic. Upgrades under the concern of this proposal are as follows:
- The Addition of Deplorable Amphibious Exosuits: The addition of Amphibious Exploration Exoskeletons Mark III (A.E.E.M.3.) to all aquatic research vessels allow the personnel of said vessels to deploy the A.E.E.M.3. to A) Protect the research vessel from threats posed by tight apertures that pose a risk to take. These apertures would be easily bypassed by A.E.E.M.3., allowing the safety and maintenance of the vessel and onboard personnel; B) In the case of an aquatic organism attacking a vessel, A.E.E.M.3. operators will be able to switch the creature's attention for a higher chance of vessel survival.
- The Addition of a Second Lightweight Protective External Layer: The addition of yet another layer of titanium (or a lightweight material of convenience) will add protection against external forces exhibiting physical attacks.
- The Addition of a Harmful Chemical to the External Layers: The addition of a chemical layer will manage to harm any bare aquatic organisms upon immediate contact with the research vessels.
BUSINESS CASE
The original intent of these additions is to solely benefit Prometheus Labs, Incorporated-owned vessels. However, as the M.A.R.V.D.S. is undergoing modification, there is a possibility to sell older defense systems to militaristic groups internationally. If Prometheus Labs, Incorporated acts as the sole distributor of M.A.R.V.D.S., groups such as the Global Occult Coalition and the Chaos Insurgency will surely invest in this revolutionary advancement.
USE OF FUNDING
The overall estimated cost of modification is 1 billion USD.
The time of construction would be reduced significantly if, rather than constructing entirely new vessels, older vessels were modified to suit these additions. The timetable for the modification of currently-existing vessels will take approximately 9 months to develop and manufacture, along with an additional 4 months to equip the newly-modified M.A.R.V.D.S. into all currently-existing aquatic research vessels.
The price ranges are as follows:
- 650 million USD for the construction of A.E.E.M.3. units as well as the newly-developed lightweight layer.
- 250 million USD for the purchase and application of the chosen chemicals.
- 100 million USD for appropriate contractors specialized in mechanical, naval, and civil engineering.
KNOWN ISSUES
Known issues regarding the grant request for the modification of the M.A.R.V.D.S. are the difficulties of price ranging for consumers, the inconvenience of transportation of M.A.R.V.D.S, and pollution to the ocean through possible spills of harmful chemicals.
In order to counteract these blockades of progress, new transportation technology may need to be developed and require a separate budget from the grant and the careful application of chosen harmful chemicals.
In regards to a separate budget, it will require an entirely new grant request, posing an issue if both grants are not accepted as a whole.
In regards to harmful chemicals, highly-skilled contractors will need to develop ways to ensure that the chemicals stay on the vessels when applied rather than freely floating into the oceans.
