SCP-XXXX

Object class: Safe

Special containment procedures:

Due to SCP-XXXXs cyanide leakages, SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an air-tight, lead-lined room, equipped with an airlock at the entrance to its cell, at Site [REDACTED]. No physical interaction with SCP-XXXX is permitted under any circumstances, unless approved by O5-[REDACTED]. If approved, physical interaction is allowed only when wearing a hazmat suit, & is only allowed for 10 minutes at a time, with 15-minute interval breaks in between sessions when performing basic tasks such as using the built-in search engine.

Description:

SCP-5000 is a Thinkpad X240 laptop, produced in the early 2000s. The laptop possesses a keyboard whose key caps have been torn off & reapplied onto different keys with Gorilla brand wood glue. SCP-XXXX is black in color, with a small, red button at the center of its keyboard. SCP-XXXXs hood is covered with stickers of various shoe, & skateboard brands, that are seemingly impossible to remove.

SCP-XXXX runs a pirated edition of Windows Vista when booted up. Any application can be run on SCP-XXXX, no matter the demand of said application. A constant framerate of 120 is measured to never drop or rise, but more demanding actions causes varying levels of cyanide gas to pour out of the bottom vents of SCP-XXXX. When opened, no signs of causation for chemical leakage or unnatural framerate for its time are found, & all parts within SCP-XXXX are found within non-anomalous models of the same laptop.

SCP-XXXX never overheats, even when running demanding applications. However, the level of cyanide gas measured to leak from the bottom vents of SCP-XXXX substitutes the amount of heat emanated, producing more cyanide gas as more thermal strain is applied to SCP-XXXX. The cyanide gas emanated by SCP-XXXX can pass through almost any substance; Lead has been proven to be immune, & plastic slows the process.

Discovery:

SCP-XXXX was found in the home of [REDACTED] year old Martha Green, & her [REDACTED] year old son, Jason Green on January [REDACTED]. Jonathan Smith received SCP-XXXX as a birthday present from his mother, & was running demanding activities on SCP-XXXX when he passed out after using SCP-XXXX for [REDACTED] hours. Jonathan was immediately rushed to the hospital by paramedics, however died soon after due to oxygen blockage in the throat and lungs. The house was initially tested for gas leakage, but none was detected. SCP-XXXX was eventually found to be the source, & after no logical sign of causation of SCP-XXXXs abilities, the Foundation was notified.

Origin is unknown.
