Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3814 is currently housed at Humanoid Containment Site-06-3 in a standard humanoid containment cell. In addition to standard furnishings, the cell should also contain a bed suitable for SCP-3814-A and a litter box¹. SCP-3814-B is to be fed by the standard humanoid meal plan, and SCP-3814-A is to be fed dry canine food twice a day. Due to overwhelming cooperation by SCP-3814-B, any reasonable request for amenities made by SCP-3814-B is to be granted.

Under no circumstances should any personnel come within 1 meter of SCP-3814 without protective gear while SCP-3814-A is on duty. In the unlikely event of a breach, nonlethal ballistic weapons, such as stun guns and tranquilizer darts, are to be used to apprehend SCP-3814. Any breach attempts should be followed by a revocation of the privileges of SCP-3814-B listed above. Under no circumstances is SCP-3814-A allowed outside of containment while off duty.

Description: SCP-3814 is made of two living components, denoted as SCP-3814-B and SCP-3814-B. SCP-3814-B is supposedly a humanoid male by the name of Patrick [REDACTED]. SCP-3814-B is completely invisible to the naked eye and to recording devices, including standard cameras, thermal cameras, weighing devices, and [REDACTED] detectors. Any objects that come into direct contact with SCP-3814-B (besides SCP-xxxx-A) will also disappear until they break contact with SCP-3814-B. In addition, absolutely no public record of SCP-3814-B's existence has been found as of the time of this article's creation. SCP-3814-B claims to be visually impaired, hence the employment of SCP-3814-A.

SCP-3814-A is a labrador retriever who appears to be aged about 6 years². SCP-3814-A wears a black seeing eye dog harness, including a collar with the name "Major" written on the front. The backside of this collar appears to have had its information scratched off with an abrasive object.

While wearing its harness, SCP-3814-A is considered "on duty," and SCP-3814-A only displays anomalous properties while on duty and accompanied by SCP-3814-B. Any and all attempts to separate SCP-3814-B from SCP-3814-A while SCP-3814-A is on duty have failed, as SCP-3814-B seems to teleport to a location exactly .5 meters away from SCP-3814-B's location whenever the distance between them becomes greater than this distance. In addition, SCP-3814-A has also been known to attack anyone who tries so come in contact with it or SCP-3814-B. SCP-3814-A is also far more intelligent than an average canine. Not only does it follow any and all commands given by SCP-3814-B both on and off duty, but it has also displayed a basic understanding of the English language.

Discovery: SCP-3814 was discovered in the city of █████████ on 12/██/19██. The discovery was made accidentally by researcher ████████ while on leave. The following is a testimony given by ████████ regarding the encounter:

I was on my way to get some lunch when I heard yelling from a nearby alleyway. He was like, "Dammit, Major! He was just trying to pet you! Jesus Christ, now we're gonna have to changes cities again." I looked into the alleyway, only to find a seeing eye dog standing over a freshly dead corpse with a piece of his neck bitten out³. I saw no one else in the alleyway. As I got closer, the same voice said "Who's there?" as the dog turned to face me. I still didn't know the origin of the voice, so I initially assumed this was some sort of talking dog. I gave it my name, and asked it what had happened. The voice then responded, "I know you can't see me, but I'd appreciate it if you talked to me and not my dog." Things were quickly sorted out after that, with SCP-3814-B willingly waiting as I called for an extraction unit.

The following excerpt is from an interview conducted by Dr. ██████ Fitzgerald shortly after the containment of SCP-3814:

Interviewer: Dr. Fitzgerald
Interviewed: SCP-3814-B

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. Fitzgerald: Good afternoon, 3814-B.

SCP-3814-B: Uh, is that me?

Dr. Fitzgerald: Yes.

SCP-3814-B: So are you guys like the Men in Black or something?

Dr. Fitzgerald: Something like that, yes. Our organization is devoted to containing anomalous objects and entities, such as you and your dog. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions.

SCP-3814-B: I was wondering if something like that was actually real. Ask away.

Dr. Fitzgerald: For the record, you claim to be an invisible man who is also blind. You are guided by SCP-3814-B, a seeing eye dog known as "Major." Is this all correct?

SCP-3814-B: Yes.

Dr. Fitzgerald: I've also been told by my colleagues that you came with them to this facility willingly. Is this also correct?

SCP-3814-B: Yeah. Sorry about your guy Major bit on the way over. He's just a little overprotective is all.

Dr. Fitzgerald: That's quite alright. I've heard that operative is recovering quite nicely. Now, I'd like to know more details about your supposed invisibility. How long have you been invisible?

SCP-3814-B: ██ years now, I think.

Dr. Fitzgerald: How long have you had SCP-3814-A?

SCP-3814-B: How long have I had Major? It's been so long I can hardly keep track. I'd say probably a decade? I can't be sure though, seeing how I haven't looked at a calendar since I was ██

Dr. Fitzgerald: I see. And how exactly was it that you found him?

SCP-3814-B: Actually, he found me. I'd been asleep next to a tree in ████████████ one night when I suddenly felt something licking my hand. I was shocked that something had realized I was even there, yet here was this dog sitting right in front of me. I felt along its body and realized it was wearing a harness. Major turned so that the handle of the harness was closer to me. I grabbed it, and I just started walking with him wherever he lead me. We've been together ever since.

Dr. Fitzgerald: Can you explain why exactly you decided to follow SCP-3814-B?

SCP-3814-B: Honestly, I couldn't even if I tried. When he's guiding me, it's like… Well it's not exactly like I can see, but I feel like I can see. I feel like I know where I'm going, and he always seems to manage to get me to the exact right place at the exact right time. For example, he always found us both food. Do you know how hard it is for a man who can't see or be seen to get food? Really to do anything for that matter. I guess the real answer to your question is that I really didn't have any other choice but to take the help I could get.

Dr. Fitzgerald: That's all of my questions. Thank you for your cooperation. You'll be escorted back to your room now.

SCP-3814-B: Before I go, I just wanna say thank you.

Dr. Fitzgerald: For what, exactly?

SCP-3814-B: For taking me and Major in. You guys seem like you're gonna take much better care of us than the outside world did.

Dr. Fitzgerald: Of course. It's what we do.

+ Addendum-3814-02

On 04/██/20██, the following communication appeared under SCP-3814-B's bed in the form of a handwritten note sealed and addressed to SCP-3814-B. It was found and confiscated during a routine room inspection while SCP-3814 was in the cafeteria.

Dear Major,

We have recently been made aware of your current situation, and thus have this letter sent to you by an operative of ours⁴ within the facility where you reside. We want you to know that we're both very sorry. We didn't expect this to happen when we gave you this assignment. Nevertheless, your job is to keep the client safe and happy, and our operative reports that the client is both safe and happy exactly where he is. You'll have to stay there for now. We can discuss an exit strategy following your current client's expiration. Please also note that the complications you have had to endure during this assignment will be reflected in a significant bonus to your usual pay. We wanted the best for this assignment, and we knew you would be up to the task. Thank you for all you have done for our son.

As of the logging of this addendum, an investigation of the [REDACTED] family and their relationship to SCP-3814-A is ongoing. Further surveillance of SCP-3814-A while off duty has also been approved.
