Item Number: xxxx
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-xxxx are to be housed in standard containment cells a site-██. Personal with level 2 access may conduct testing with SCP-xxxx only with approval from research head. Any unauthorized individuals that enter into SCP-xxxx-1 through the use of SCP-xxxx will be detained for questioning, and amnesticized and released.
Description: SCP-xxxx refer to a series of statues depicting species that are extinct or are nearing extinction. SCP-xxxx are made up of a bronze-like material that is vastly more durable than normal bronze. All attempts to try damage this material have resulted in superficial damage that repairs within 24 hours.
SCP-xxxx has two distinct anomalous features. Each SCP-xxxx instance posses a weak congintohazard on humans that make eye contact with it, compelling the individual to investigate the instance. The purpose of the memetic is to get individuals to interact with the signage regarding the species that the instance represents (see an attached example in -1). This signage has no anomalous effect, but does display accurate data about the species provided. This memetic property becomes dangerous however, when curiosity leads to a subject to touch an SCP-xxxx instance. This is also prompted by the signage which reads:
[[Still don't believe that extinction is a real threat? Why don't you try our unique and individual experience, The Last of Your Kind: Staring You! Just touch the statue and your journey will begin! It will be an experience you will never forget!]]
Any physical contact with any SCP-xxxx will trigger the second anomalous effect which will lead to the subject being transported to the corresponding SCP-xxxx-1 reality.
SCP-xxxx-1 refers to an alternate reality of what appears to be Earth where humanity is near extinction, with the subject being the last surviving human. Testing has proven that each individual is sent to their own SCP-xxxx-1 reality for each SCp-xxxx instance. Any non-organic object present on the subject's person will be transported with them.
The surrounding of SCP-xxxx-1 appears as a worn down rural town that currently has not be located within our dimension. This town is overgrown and most buildings have fallen in a state of total collapse. The livery in this town appears as similar to the habitat of that the corresponding scp-xxxx instance. The area is composed within a 25 km radius with an 5 m tall electric fence around the border. The fence has multiple gates, with gates at the northern, southern, eastern, and western most points of the circle. The outside resembles typical biome to the corresponding species of the scp-xxxx instance. No much can be seen outside the fence, except for a few signs. However, they are unable to be read due to their positioning. Subject are unable to exit the fencing, however, scp-xxxx-2 instances will periodically emerge from any of the gates.
SCP-xxxx-2 refers to the organisms that inhabit SCP-xxxx-1. SCP-xxxx-2 instances appear to be humanoid versions of the species depicted in the corresponding SCP-xxxx-1. SCP-xxxx-2 instances appear to be evolved versions of the species, possessing human-like tendencies with form, intelligence, and sppeech. SCP-xxxx-2-b instances appear to be the leaders of the SCP-xxxx-2-a instantiates. SCP-xxxx-2-b posses the unique abilities to speak English and knowledge of our dimension. It has been documented that they understand the concept of extinction and know that their species is either extinct or near extinction.
SCP-xxxx-2 instances are incredibly violent and will hunt down any subjects from the moment they enter SCP-xxxx-1. SCP-xxxx-2 instances will hunt the subject using a variety of modified human weapons for their usage. A list of weaponry and vehicles so far observed is shown in table 2. SCP-xxxx-2 instances can be killed, but this is ill advised. Any time an SCP-xxxx-2-a is killed, two more will arrive to take its place from any of the gates. If an SCP-xxxx-2-b instance is killed, 4 SCP-xxxx-2-b instances will arrive at each of the gates. These new instances will become more heavily armed, usually with higher caliber weaponry and in one record instance, explosives. SCP-xxxx-2 instances tactics are very similar way to poachers from our dimension. This hunting process will consist of constantly tracking the subject. SCP-xxxx-2 instances appear to have the ability to always know the general area a subject is in at all times. Once the subject is located, the SCP-xxxx-2 hunting party will kill or subdue the subject. In most cases, the subject will be killed. In a few cases, the subject will be knocked out either through blunt force or tranquiler.
Once the subject "wakes up", they will already have been harvested. Depending on which species the SCP-xxxx-3 hunting party represents will result in what parts of the subject will be harvested. If the represented species is usually hunted for their keratin, the subjects nose, fingernails, and toenails will be removed either carefully or the clean cutting off of toes and fingers. If the represented species is usually hunted for their skins or scales, the subject will be skinned. Bones will sometimes be harvested, and in a few cases the entire skeleton. This will result in heavy scarring around these areas once the subject returns, most notably where they were killed.
After the harvesting has been complete, this is when an SCP-xxxx-2-b instance will address the subject. This process has been reffered to as the "Extinction Epilogue" by SCP-xxxx-2 instances. This consists of an SCP-xxxx-2-b instance lecturing the subject on the horrors of extinction, mainly with accurate facts that will are updated when new data is released. The instance will usually go into detail about the species it represents, talking about conservation efforts and what the subject can do to help in incredible detail. A transcript of recorded and interviews from subjects that encountered this ending can be found in logs 3 and 4.
After the Extinction epilogue, the subject will reappear laying on the floor next to the SCP-xxxx-1 instance. A note will be attached to the subject which reads:
[[
Hopefully you now know the horrors that insert represented species name endure while being hunted! We hope that now, you will take extinction seriously! You know now how it feels to be hunted and butchered like these creatures are on a daily basses. Don't. Forget.
~Are We Cool Yet?
]]
Subjects will be unable to us the same SCP-xxxx instance to return to the same SCP-xxxx-1. However, any subject that enters a different SCP-xxxx-1, using a different instance of SCP-xxxx, will be addressed differently during the Extinction epilogue, usually with the SCP-xxxx-2-b instance being increasingly agitated at the subject for not taking its message to heart. A similar message repeats every time a subject enters a different SCP-xxxx-1.
The first 3 instances of SCP-xxxx were recovered from a museum in ████████, ████ on 07/24/20██ after local police got reports of people disappearing and reappearing attacked and traumatized. The foundation were contacted and classs c-amnestics were given to individuals that observed and interacted with the SCP-xxxx instances. Another set of SCP-xxxx instances were recovered on 09/9/20██ appearing within the National History Museum in New York, City. They were contained before the museum opened. After this incident, with the growing risk of such a high exposure, mobile task force Sigma-24 "Art Critics" was created to contain possible new SCP-xxxx-1 instances. So far, ██ instances of SCP-xxxx-1 have been recovered, with them primarily appearing in museums across the eastern United States.
