Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5287 must be contained in a 10m by 10m by 10m room made of ██████ so that the room can crumble with ease to prevent large damage to the surrounding area in case of an incident. There must be plenty of viewing areas surrounding SCP-5287 containment room having at least two personnel observing SCP-5287 at all times. If only one person is observing SCP-5287, then they must not move from the location they started observing SCP-5287. If a single personnel causes SCP-5287 to grow they must report it via radio. During this time no other personnel can view SCP-5287 until the viewer can get shrink SCP-5287 back down to a reasonable level.
Description: SCP-5287 was found in ██████ in the middle of a field when a civilian noticed an odd black figure out of the corner of their eye. The anomalous properties were immediately recognized and the foundation was contacted. Impressively, the civilian stayed relatively sane through the entire process of interacting with SCP-5287 before given amnestics, although background checks show no reason for this.
SCP-5287 is a primarily black entity, vaguely resembling a frowning bobble head. SCP-5287 is a spatial anomaly, making its size indeterminate but has been seen ranging from: ████ yoctometers to ████ kilometers in height. The size of SCP-5287 is entirely determinate on the distance a single viewer is from it. If a viewer sees SCP-5287 at the size of one meter and moves closer, the entity will shrink and if they move farther it will grow. The speed of the growing/shrinking is dependent on the movement of the viewer from their original point of viewing. This shrinking/growing is exponential to SCP-5287 height.
For instance: The viewer of SCP-5287 sees SCP-5287 at 6 meters in height and moves toward it. It shrinks 2 meters, the next advance of the exact same distance will make SCP-5287 shrink 1.4 meters. This is double the shrinking rate of the first movement in comparison to SCP-5287's height at that point, being 1/3 the height and then 2/3. This will continue until SCP-5287 is either too small to recognize with any know technology, or the viewer stops moving forward.
SCP-5287 is assumed to come from a two dimensional plane of existence with rules to how geometry works that are much unlike our own. If multiple personnel are viewing SCP-5287, each one will see SCP-5287 facing directly at them. This is not affected by lighting or how far above or bellow SCP-5287 they are. In the case they are suspended upside down or at any other lateral rotation SCP-5287 will remain standing upright on the ground. People who have viewed SCP-5287 describe it as almost a sticker on their eyes, but it stays in one spot.
As long as two people are viewing SCP-5287 at any given time it will stay the same size as the original seen, even if they move closer or further from SCP-5287, making it crucial that there are two personnel viewing SCP-5287 at all times. SCP-5287 has seemed to have an adaptation of the third dimension allowing it to effect mater in the Z plane in addition to the original X and Y in the second dimension. SCP-5287 can be a safety hazard if a single viewer sees SCP-5287 and begins to back away. There seems to be no matter that can physically effect SCP-5287, making the growth of SCP-5287 very dangerous to anything above or around it. If SCP-5287 grows and comes in contact with any type of solid, liquid, or gas; it will not be effected in momentum in any way. Even when come into contact with SCP-████ which will bend and even split until SCP-5287 is removed.
Given the properties of SCP-5287 the SCP foundation has declared that it cannot be neutralized, and the containment protocols must remain. Experiments carried out with SCP-5287 must be accepted by two level 4 personnel.
