IA CASE FILE \\ MTS \\ DATED █/██/1964
RAISA SECURITY LEVEL HX-6
The MTS is an organization noted by the Intelligence Agency for investigation of alleged corruption within the Foundation. Reports given to the Foundation include leaking of classified information and a potential Soviet spy network operating at several containment sites. The words that make up the acronym MTS are unknown, though it is known to some as the Mysterious Trench Service, as suspected operatives have been seen in trench coats. Although the leader of the MTS is unknown, some agents of the Intelligence Agency have deliberated that it is Dr. Christopher Gates of the Scientific Department. Dr. Gates has reported several incidents within the Foundation, such as deliberate mishandling of SCPs and other anomalous substances.
By all accounts, the MTS has always contacted the Foundation at its Administrative Site via telephone. This is likely because the organization has made an effort to have minimal physical evidence collected on it. Attempts to trace the calls have been unsuccessful. It is currently unknown how the MTS located the classified telephone number.
EXHIBIT A: On █/█/1963, a typewritten strip of paper was discovered outside of Site-██ by Site Director [REDACTED], which is believed to have been intentionally left behind by an MTS operative. The paper reads as follows:
We are the MTS. We'll be watching.

O5-0: A Timeline
This timeline, compiled by an unknown source, was discovered by operatives of the Intelligence Agency several months ago. It has been noted for its high accuracy.
- 1943: Christopher Gates recieves his Master of Science degree from Harvard University.
- 1944: Dr. Gates begins working at the Materials Technology Laboratory of the U.S. Army as an engineer. He is noted for exceptional research and is promoted to the position of Biological Anomaly Specialist in the Thunderbird Project the same year.
- 1946: After the closure of the Thunderbird Project, Dr. Gates is transferred to the FBI as a scientific reporter. Some of his findings during his tenure were the basis for the creation of the Unusual Incidents Unit several years later.
- 1949: The SCP Foundation hires Dr. Gates as a Junior Researcher at Site 19. He performs well and is promoted to a Researcher within five months.
- 1951: Dr. Gates is promoted to a Senior Researcher. Later that year, he becomes the case manager for several Euclid and Keter SCPs, a rare occurrence for Senior Researchers.
- 1953: Dr. Gates becomes aware of several researchers who are giving information to external groups, as well as deliberately mishandling SCPs. He reports this to the O5 Council and is trained on intelligence collection. Dr. Gates successfully aids the Foundation in the detection and arrest of many other corrupt individuals.
- 1955: Dr. Gates, upset about the ineffectiveness of the Intelligence Agency and Internal Security Department, forms the MTS, which later becomes known as the Mysterious Trench Service. The MTS gives the Foundation intelligence on large-scale corruption in the Foundation, as well tips on several Soviet spy networks operating at multiple containment sites. The Foundation never discovers that Dr. Gates is the leader of the MTS.
- 1958: Although he is satisfied with the work of the MTS, Dr. Gates becomes bored with his Foundation career. He begins secret research into the creation of anomalous entities and substances. Dr. Gates begins staying at work late into the night, and takes precautions to ensure that no one else discovers this research.
- 1960: Dr. Gates has created several anomalous entities. He keeps them contained deep within Site 19. An inquisitive researcher comes across these entities by accident, which causes Dr. Gates to become increasingly worried. He eventually decides to administer amnestics to this individual.
- 1965: Several reality-bending individuals controlled by the Oneiroi Collective cause a large-scale containment breach at Site 19 in which Dr. Gates is kidnapped and his entities are released. Following full site recontainment, the entities are registered as SCPs. Dr. Gates is essentially brainwashed by the Oneiroi Collective and he begins to transition to a reality bender. Without Dr. Gates to lead it, the MTS ceases to exist.
- 1966: Dr. Gates finishes becoming a reality bender controlled by the Oneiroi Collective. He becomes detached from his physical body and is classified more as a phenomenon. The Oneiroi Collective plans to gain control of all SCPs using Dr. Gates' knowledge. It is at this point that Dr. Gates becomes known as SCP-???.
- 1967: With the oversight of the Oneiroi Collective, SCP-??? establishes an organization known simply as [???]. Over the next two years, the [???] attempts to bring all SCPs under its control, but fails.
- 1969: The Oneiroi Collective, dissatisfied with SCP-???'s performance, releases SCP-??? from their control. SCP-??? regains its original consciousness and personality, as well as its memories from being Dr. Gates.
- 1971: SCP-??? establishes the second [???] with the goal of assisting the Foundation. To negotiate an agreement, SCP-??? creates a non-aging physical manifestation of itself with reality-bending capabilities.
- 1973: The Foundation reaches an agreement, in which the [???] will assist the Foundation in the containment of Thaumiel SCPs, and provide information on other reality benders. In turn, the Foundation will cover up the [???] with the disguise of the Department of Domestic Phenomenons, and change Dr. Gates' name in Foundation records to. Dr. ShadowLight.
- 1974: The "manifestation" becomes an advisory O5, with the unofficial designation of O5-0.
- 1976: O5-0 re-establishes the MTS, with a broader goal of investigating corruption within the Foundation and its allies.
Over the next forty years, O5-0 becomes highly skilled in all areas of combat. His work in the Foundation, the [???], and the MTS gains him respect within the anomalous community.
- 2018: About 11 months after the decommissioning of Site 45, O5-0 begins reconstructing the site as an MTS installation. O5-0 also adds heavy armor and defenses to the site, such as cannon towers and upgraded warheads.
O5-0. SCP-???. Dr. Gates. Adam Lightwood. Adam Darkwood. Names which are all associated with the "same" person, most think. But the truth is that these names all originate in very different sources. This page aims to explain the history behind these aliases.
Dr. Gates: While this name is no longer widely used, Dr. Gates was the human predecessor of O5-0. Dr. Gates majored in science, went on to a successful 15-year career with the SCP Foundation, and later transitioned to a reality bender and became O5-0.
SCP-???: There is no known overall entity of SCP-???. All that is understood is that SCP-??? came from the soul of Dr. Gates when he became a reality bender. SCP-??? also controls O5-0 and its powers are still widely unknown.
O5-0: An entity with high positions in several groups of interest, and the SCP Foundation. Many consider O5-0 to be the close successor of Dr. Gates. O5-0 was first created by SCP-???, and acts in a quiet and civil manner, though it is highly skilled in combat, and is a reality bender.
Adam Lightwood: This name is more recent. It is believed that SCP-??? and a force known only as Adam Darkwood somehow merged their powers. The result is an all-powerful, omnipotent, invincible being which can act normal but is capable of unparalleled fighting skill and destructive abilites.
Adam Darkwood: All that is known of Adam Darkwood is that it represents a powerful force existing since the beginning of time, and that it may have combined its powers with those of SCP-???.
To Whom It May Concern,
This is an important notice regarding former Foundation property Site 45. I am sending this on the priority encryption server to keep the information more secure.
As you are aware, Site 45 was decommissioned and sealed around 11 months ago, following the catastrophic containment failure of SCP-███. Site 45 cannot be demolished in a safe manner due to several factors including the presence of █-grade warheads. To ensure that the facility remained safe, advanced monitoring devices were activated on the premises and all remaining personnel left.
About a week ago, several of our monitors were set off. Footage showed at least five individuals in trenchcoats approaching the front gate of the facility. We subsequently lost connection to all monitoring devices on site. A team was sent to investigate, but reported that they were unable to locate the facility. Another team was sent with the same result. All other attempts at locating the site, even through aerial surveillance, have failed.
I headed to the RAISA archive to see if we had any previous documentation of groups known for trenchcoats. The only thing I uncovered referencing trenchcoats was a former GOI called "MTS". Albeit, this GOI hasn't been seen by the Foundation since the mid-1960s, when their leader was reportedly assassinated. Seems like we've hit a dead end in regards to Site 45. We may end up sending this case over to Scientific. Something is fishy about this.

Case Manager, Site 45
There is a theory that SCP-??? created an alternate reality in which O5-0 was secretly the Administrator, but that nobody ever discovered this.
