ECT

SCP-XXXX in its containment cell.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard memetic-hazard storage cell at Site-15. Access to SCP-XXXX is not permitted without approval from the Senior Researcher assigned to SCP-XXXX. No devices capable of emitting sound are allowed to enter SCP-XXXX’s chamber unless directed to do so by the Senior Researcher. All research staff assigned to SCP-XXXX must receive proper memetic inoculation to limit potential exposure to SCP-XXXX's effects.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1943 Ediswan ECT machine, capable of causing interference in nearby electronic devices that have a sound functionality present (speakers, radios, headphones, and sometimes televisions, although video outputs are noticeably absent). These devices will emit a low-frequency hum and, when heard by individuals without memetic inoculation, will induce auditory hallucinations in said individuals. This effect does not appear to influence recording devices, and only the hum can be heard (without the anomalous effect).

SCP-XXXX was discovered amongst the medical equipment in Site-█ during the recovery of numerous anomalous objects that were still contained there. Site-█ is an abandoned Foundation Site, which had been empty since the end of World War II. The machine is no longer capable of performing its primary duties, and repairing it appears to be ineffective in restoring the original functionality of the machine.

The auditory hallucinations have been discovered to be the audial memories of Sarah █████, an anomalous child who was in the custody of the Foundation until 1945. Below is the archived SCP Document regarding the subject, designated SCP-██.

Item #: SCP-██

Object Class: Euclid Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-██ is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment chamber at Site-█ with toys and art supplies. No personnel are permitted to come in to contact with SCP-██ without memetic inoculation, and all Foundation therapists assigned to SCP-██ must receive a monthly psychological evaluation to determine if memetic inoculation is becoming ineffective.

Current Foundation priority is focused on the psychological remedial of SCP-██, as her current mental state has been deemed dangerous due to her trauma being the most likely cause of her anomalous abilities. SCP-██ is currently scheduled for an appointment with her current therapist, Dr. Ames every week.

In the event that SCP-██ becomes remarkably upset or distressed, "We'll Meet Again" by Vera Lynn is to be played on a record player and broadcasted to the Site's Intercom System. Afterward, Dr. Ames should attempt to talk to SCP-██ as soon as possible.

Description: SCP-██ is a 12-year-old female child from Bristol, England. She was discovered after being hospitalized at Parkside Lunatic Asylum after her mother [DATA EXPUNGED]. A Foundation field agent stationed at the hospital discovered her abilities after several other patients became severely distressed and began to cry near her vicinity.

SCP-██ has the ability to implant her memories into those around her, albeit involuntarily. These memories tend to be her negative experiences in her past, usually her traumatic experiences. These implanted memories seem to be less vivid than the original memories of SCP-██, becoming more emotion-based rather than detail. Individuals affected by SCP-██ will only be able to recall the feelings associated with the memory instead of the exact events that occurred.

SCP-██'s father abandoned SCP-██'s mother while she was still pregnant, and she was raised by her mother and her much older brother. (Note: SCP-██'s brother is currently serving the country in Lombardy, Italy and is unreachable.) After several sessions with Dr. Ames, SCP-██ was only able to share minor details regarding her traumatic experiences with her mother.

The subject has shown to be very childlike and enjoys creating artistic depictions of objects in her room, as well as people she considers to be friends, particularly her therapist, Dr. Ames. She has also taken a liking to the musical productions of Vera Lynn, and SCP-██'s abilities seem to temporarily subside when listening to "We'll Meet Again". This effect has also been discovered to alleviate individuals of the subject's anomalous effect. Repeated usage of the song is not advised, as to prevent the subject from growing numb to the song's effect on it.

Note from Dr. Henry:

[File stained with ink, untranscribable data]

Note from Dr. Ames: With all due respect, Dr. Henry, I do not approve of your proposal to use Electroconvulsive Therapy as an attempt to remedy her major depressive disorder. I do not diagnose it as "treatment-resistant" quite yet, as I believe that continued therapy sessions will be just as effective as ECT. Not to mention, she is just a child. It could be quite frightening, which is why I ask you to give me more time. Therapy is a slow process, we must not take shortcuts. She will get better.

-Dr. Ames

Memo from Dr. Henry: Attention all research staff assigned to SCP-██, I wish to address the tragic suicide of Dr. Ames, of which I am sure most of you are aware. I would like to stress that we shall not, under any circumstances, inform the subject of Dr. Ames' death whatsoever. As far as she is aware, he is simply on vacation for the foreseeable future.

Also, as the lead researcher assigned to SCP-██, I formally authorize the use of Electroconvulsive Therapy on the subject. This is to be considered an immediate priority. Although we are not entirely sure if Dr. Ames' unfortunate circumstance was a result of SCP-██'s abilities or not, I do not suggest taking any further chances.

-Dr. Henry

[URGENT] Memo from Dr. Henry: Attention all research staff assigned to SCP-██, it has come to my attention that there was an incident involving the Electroconvulsive Therapy, there is a neurosurgeon on their way to attempt to recover the subject's brain activity. I am aware that this is a… large mistake on my part, and I am willing to accept full responsibility if this unfortunate incident is irreversible.

-Dr. Henry

Message from O5-█:

Dear Dr. Henry,

//What the fuck were you thinking? You didn't listen to Dr. Ames, and gave the ECT treatment without regard to anything he had told you! The subject is dead because of your negligence, Dr. Henry.

After your blatant display of ignorance in disobeying Dr. Ames' wishes, his dying wish no less, I am seriously questioning your competence and loyalty to this Foundation. You directly disobeyed him the moment he passed, and by doing so you showed your incapability to respect your peers' decisions. From henceforth, I will be banning the usage of electroconvulsive therapy in any future situation. All ECT machines will be kept in storage indefinitely.

I do appreciate your acceptance of responsibility, as well as your quick response to the incident. It's a shame the neurosurgery ended with the unintended expiration of the subject, but keep in mind that none of this would have happened had you listened to your colleague. I hope both you and the Foundation can learn from your mistake.

-Sincerely, O5-█

Addendum: Below are the transcribed audio logs of the various auditory hallucinations SCP-XXXX is capable of producing.
