Chumblus Sandbox

What's going on here?

I, ChumblusChumblus, have had this SCP account since 2019. In that time, I have pitched multiple narrow and face-value ideas. These have all gone belly up. I do not have a single successful SCP article on the main list or anywhere else.

This will effectively be an Author Page with no articles. Just drafts, criticisms quarrels, etc. Who am I kidding, it is literally a sandbox. I'll do what I want here.

This is fun

Item #: SCP-5470

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Edward Harback’s corpse has been moved to Saint Gerald’s Cemetery, a Foundation-only graveyard near Site-93. The grave has been isolated inside Site-93's East Sub-Level. Any SCP-5470-1 instances outside of Site-93's perimeter are to be reported immediately.

SCP-5470-1 instances are to be terminated. They may be captured by MTF Zeta-4 ("No Guilt") for study if live instances in containment drop below twenty.

Description: SCP-5470 is a phenomena in which humanoids identical to Edward Harback (hereby referred to as SCP-5470-1 instances) manifest in a perimeter near it’s body no further than 600 meters at varying times. These instances have manifested above ground, on ground, below ground (both in hollow areas, like caves and solid earth) and in water.

SCP-5470-1 instances, while resembling Edward Harback’s corpse in varying stages of decay, are capable of locomotion and basic functions (such as jumping, walking, crawling, but not talking, problem solving, higher thought, etc). These instances do suffer from these advanced stages of decay, thought at a lesser extent to baseline decomposition rates.

After manifesting, SCP-5470-1 instances will try to locate Senior Researcher Cameron Ferguson. All SCP-5470-1 instances possess an innate knowledge of the general location of Researcher (i.e. A park or area of a park/s, rather than a more specific sense) as well as a desire to kill Researcher Ferguson.

SCP-5470-1 instances have manifested with objects in their clothes and/or in the body. These objects often resemble those used by Edward Harback when he was alive or are addressed to Researcher Ferguson.

Addendum 5470.1: Interview.

INTERVIEW LOG

DATE: 3rd of October, 2012.
INTERVIEWER: Dr. Mabel Rowe
SUBJECT: Cameron Ferguson.

FOREWORD: A week after the anomaly was initially discovered, an interview was conducted by Dr. Rowe to establish Senior Researcher Ferguson's experience with and relation to the anomaly.

[BEGIN LOG.]

Dr. Rowe: "Hello Cameron. Today we'll be conducting a standard initial interview. I'll ask you some questions, you'll give me some answers and then we're done for the day. Are you ready to proceed?

Senior Researcher Ferguson: "Sure. Let's do it."

Dr. Rowe: "Would you please state your relation to the cadaver before the anomalous effects manifested?"

Researcher Ferguson: (Cough.) "Wow, uh, I didn't realise we were starting with the hard hitting questions right off the gate." (Pause.) "Edward was, -uh, is my son. I raised him with my now ex-wife, Janette Harback. He passed away six months ago."

Dr. Rowe: "My condolences. Was there any sort of indication of any anomalous activity before his passing?"

Researcher Ferguson: "No, not at all. We raised him as normal as you can when one parent has to go research the anomalous every other day. But no, he didn't possess any anomalous properties pre-mortem." (Sniffle.)

Dr. Edwards: "Is everything alright?"

Researcher Ferguson: "Yeah, yeah. It's just it's still kind of a soft spot, you know?" (Crying.) "Sorry, sorry. Let's continue."

Dr. Rowe: "Ok, just tell me if at any point you feel too emotional. It says here that a coroner determined the cause of death to be a mixture of soap poisoning, difficulty breathing from obstruction of the airways caused by ingestion of large quantities of cleaning chemicals, and internal bruising. Is that correct?"

Researcher Ferguson: (Pause.) "Yes, that, -that is correct." (Sniffling.) "Go, uh, go on."

Dr. Rowe: "Ok. Now let's discuss your encounter with the first SCP-5470-1 instance. When did you notice the instance?"

Researcher Ferguson: "I was going out for a stroll near the local park to clear my mind, a few blocks away from where Edward was buried. I was just watching the sun when I heard these dogs barking through the neighbours fence. I tried to ignored it but then I smelt this stinking odour coming from behind me."

Researcher Ferguson: "When I turned to see where it the odour from, I saw the instance twenty or so meters away from me. It shuffled in the, -the most unsettling way. It's flesh was all the wrong colours, pale but dark, rotten. Bloated. It was missing one of it's ar- one of it's arms.

Researcher Ferguson: "And when I saw it I dialled the helpline1 right away."

Dr. Rowe: "Well, that's all for today. I'll have a psych evaluation scheduled for you in the coming weeks to make sure you're okay. Thank you for your compliance, Cameron."

Researcher Ferguson: "Any time, Mabel."

A test used to determine whether an anomaly is influencing a person or not was conducted on Janette Harback. The test came back negative.
