Cjmomo7 - Unstoppable Force

Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4XXX is to be contained in a ten (10) meter cube-shaped room of any material (normally concrete, as it is readily available). This room to only to be accessed via multiple (at least three(3)) access hatches located above the room, with ladder steps carved out of the wall. No object of any kind is to enter containment without permission from two (2) or more level three (3) or higher personnel. SCP-4XXX is currently located in Site-76.

Description:
SCP-4XXX appears to be a true black sphere measuring approximately ten (10) centimeters in diameter. Exact measurement is currently impossible because the object is in perpetual motion, at a speed of 8.04 Kilometers per hour. Any attempts at stopping SCP-4XXX has been met with failure. When left alone, it can only turn in a wide arc and actively avoids contact with solids and liquids (including organisms) if possible. Once in contact with any material, the object will move vertically until it breaks through to the surface. It appears to have no other directional preference and can be somewhat unpredictable.

If there is no space for SCP-4XXX to move, or it is faced with only the option of sudden redirection, it will simply push through any barrier of any material. It seems to produce a perfect amount of kinetic energy to keep it moving at its constant speed at all times. Testing has proven expensive and costly. Any living organism can hold and physically interact with the object, but any attempt to stop it will cause the would-be captor to be pulled along with it. See experiment log 4XXX-1 and 4XXX-2

Careful examination of the object has revealed that it contains no matter, and has no mass. Research into the nature of SCP-4XXX is ongoing. Subjects that come into contact with it describe its surface at "perfectly smooth," but can describe no comparable substance beyond glass or polished wood. It is unknown how a vacuum is not created by the absence of matter, or how it stays in perpetual motion. Theoretical speculation suggests extradimensional origin.

SCP-4XXX was originally discovered when an agent embedded in a local law enforcement agency received a related report. The report described a farmer in [REDACTED] who found SCP-4XXX hovering over his farmland. When the farmer attempted to catch it, the object proceeded to move upwards. The farmer did not let go immediately, and he fell from the object through the roof of his barn. The farmer's family and all related law enforcement personnel were administered amnestics and returned to their lives. A cover story detailing a UFO was provided to the family, which has been met with ridicule by the public.

By direct order from 05-[][], under NO circumstances is SCP-4XXX to come into contact with SCP-(future scp project) for fear of paradoxical event.

Addendum [SCP-4XXXa]
Object reclassified as Euclid following a very expensive incident in which SCP-4XXX breached containment. It broke through the wall of a three-meter cubic cell and burrowed 200 meters, through other parts of the facility, to get to the surface and wander. Larger containment cell requested and promptly approved.

Experiment log 4XXX-1:
A ridge is carved out of the North wall of the cell. One D-class (the subject) enters the cell with a sheet of titanium. The subject is instructed to attempt to trap SCP-4XXX with the titanium. As expected, the subject inserts the sheet into the ridge as the object approaches the point of contact. The subject loses his hold on the titanium sheet before damage is observed. After seven (7) tries, the subject (as well as the active researcher) become understandably frustrated and terminate testing.

Experiment log 4XXX-2:
Same parameters as previous experiment, except a brace is provided to prevent human error. As SCP-4XXX makes contact with the titanium sheet, a nearly perfectly circular hole is created as the object moves through. Deviations from geometric perfection are the results of the arc of the object. No change is the speed or direction of the object was recorded. Further testing discouraged due to potential massive expenses to gain few, redundant results.

Author notes, to be deleted pre-posting:
Hi! This is my first ever SCP. I plan on making another one before posting this one, or referencing/linking to an SCP that cannot be moved at all (for the unstoppable force vs immovable object cliché). This work still needs formatting and some special characters ( these things [] should be solid blocks), but most of the work is done. Maybe the addendum needs to be an incident report?
