Item #: SCP-X Level 4/X
Object Class: Safe Classified

Threat Level: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-X are currently contained in the hospital wing of Calibre Hospital, America. A designated wing for housing instances of SCP-X has been established within the hospital.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a non-physical entity that influences human sleep. Individuals affected by SCP-X have dreams that predict catastrophic events before they occur. MRI scans of instances of SCP-X show no neural variance to that of a normal human. Therefore, it is believed the SCP-X has no physical form, however, the relationship between SCP-X-8 and SCP-X-11 suggests possible genetic causation for SCP-X.

Currently, there are 11 10 individuals affected by SCP-X. All instances have the ability to foresee catastrophic events before they occur in physical reality. Dreams of the instances differentiate, no two instances appear to see the same catastrophic event while dreaming. Below is a list of all 11 SCP-X's

In a dream state, instances of SCP-X experience the catastrophes through their own perspective, SCP-X-1 through to 11 are, reportedly, physically able to interact with the environments of the catastrophe but are unable to interact with other individuals present within the dream. The longer an instance of SCP-X sleeps for the greater catastrophes become. If an instance sleeps for three hours they may only see a fatal stabbing, at nine hours of sleep they may witness a mass shooting. Applying this factor of SCP-X lead to the creation of Project Comatose (see Addendum A) to test the effects of prolonged sleep and what to see what catastrophic events instances would witness.

A theory proposed by SCP-XXXX-1 (see Addendum B) suggests that instead of SCP-X having dreams of catastrophes that the dreams are the actual causation of the catastrophe, therefore working along with the idea that if there are no instances of SCP-X then there will be no future catastrophes

Addendum A: Project Comatose

Project Details: Project Comatose aims to test the effects of prolonged sleep on individuals affected by SCP-X, the current hypothesis is that despite slowed brain activity while in a medically induced coma, the amplified sleep-suspension will cause individuals to have more detailed and catastrophic events, the overall objective is to garner useful information about future world events that could prove damaging to the foundation or human life.

Below are transcripts obtained from Project Comatose, due to the circumstances of certain instances, SCP-X-6 to 11 have been excluded from Project Comatose as ruled by the Lead Researcher. All interviews were conducted by Dr Gestalt.

Addendum B: The Causation Issue
Preface: This addendum stems from an interview between SCP-XXXX-1 and Dr Gestalt. As SCP-XXXX-1 is held in high regard by Dr Gestalt the following theory to SCP-X's effects has been recorded.

Theory: SCP-XXXX-1 has suggested the possibility that the dreams of instances XXXX-1 to XXXX-11 in actuality are the causation of catastrophic events. Surveillance of the IED area by Australian forces found no individual placing the IED in the recorded area. Research conducted by Foundation personnel found no faults in the aeroplane of UJ-744. Therefore, this evidence supports the theory that catastrophic dreams may be the source of catastrophes due to lack of any prior evidence that the catastrophe was to occur. SCP-XXXX-1 suggested the culling of all instances of SCP-X to theoretically postpone any future catastrophes.

However, due to the history of SCP-XXXX-1 and its relationship to the foundation, this suggestion is only being recorded in the article at the request of Dr Gestalt, any further investigation into this theory has been
