Item: SCP-XXXX

Code Name: The Black Hand

Object Class: Euclid

SCP-XXXX%20Image.png

Description:

SCP-XXXX was retrieved in ███████, ███████████ UK. It was found in a child’s bedroom after the mother had contacted the police when she found blood stains under the bed while tidying her son’s room. While the police were talking to the mother, the child said:

“It was the black hand”

The police found this statement odd and asked the kid where this ‘black hand’ was, he told them he hid under the bed and came out at night, where he would then appear in the child's mind in the form of a nightmare to attack and kill him before he woke up.

Feeling slightly disturbed by this information the police began searching under the bed and found the glove soaked entirely in a puddle of blood. The police found this very strange and it only got worse when they started hearing deep voices emitting from the blood-soaked glove. SCP agents were quickly called to the scene by police when the voice emitting from the glove supposedly started threatening all the police officers to leave or it would “███ █████ ████████ ████ █████ ████████”.

The agents arrived and took the glove away, the police had to receive therapy with one of them committing suicide █ days later. The mother and child where soon moving to a new house so when they did the now empty house was put under quarantine by the SCP Foundation to ensure no other strange anomalies were present in the building.

Appearance:
The object is a left-handed black wool glove of approximately 20cm in length. During the daylight hours, the specimen seems to reside in its cell in a dormant state, resembling that of an average glove. When night falls SCP-XXXX becomes active, with its mass increases as though a hand is within the glove. SCP-XXXX also then possesses a small red luminescent eye in the palm of the glove.

During SCP-XXXX’s night activity, the creature crawls around its cell at walking pace using its fingers to pull itself around. It has been observed that SCP-XXXX can cling on to almost any solid surface using an electrostatic charge at its fingertips. It is also been found to have an █████ indicating SCP-XXXX to officially be a living organism.

Tests were made on SCP-XXXX’s wool to figure out whether it came from natural resources such as sheep’s wool, or if it came from manufactured wool. The tests showed that SCP-XXXX’s wool was, in fact, neither of these and instead seemed to have an organic matter to it as though it were the creature’s ████.

It is also noted the SCP-XXXX upon being viewed physically can cause serious mental trauma to the onlooker such as high levels of anxiety making them want to run to a corner and scream. To avoid this, it is mandatory to wear tinted safety goggles while viewing SCP-XXXX while in its cell, it has been noted that sunglasses and shades are also just as effective against the effects of viewing SCP-XXXX however the safety goggles are mandatory as they cannot be knocked off, the observation window on SCP-XXXX's cell has also been tinted.

SCP-XXXX has proven nearly impossible to photograph as most of the images taken of SCP-XXXX have resulted in a gold-colored image. The only successful image taken was at ██:██ AM using a night vision camera while SCP-XXXX was feeding ( See image at the top of the page )

Special Containment Procedures: SPC-XXXX is to be contained in a cell with the walls, floor, and ceiling made from 20cm thick steel sheets and lined with 5cm thick rubber sheets to avoid the specimen from shorting out the equipment.

SCP-XXXX requires a dark space within its cell to allow it to hide with it feels threatened as to avoid putting the creature under stress.

It is mandatory that the cell does not contain any kind of fabric as this may be used by SCP-XXXX to escape.

As for SCP-XXXX’s diet, it feeds off a diet of coal, charcoal, and diamond. It is recommended that you use charcoal as it is the most inexpensive and least wasteful means of feeding SCP-XXXX.

TEST LOGS FOR SCP-XXXX

Test A – 19th April 2019

Subject: SCP-XXXX at 10:30 PM D-XXXX █████ ███████ a 34-year-old male and the culprit of the stabbing of 8 civilians, was sent into the cell with SCP-XXXX. D-XXXX is instructed to approach SCP-XXXX, upon approaching the creature D-XXXX started complaining that he felt uneasy and wasn’t sure.

Audio File Available Scientist: Ok █████ please approach SCP-XXXX

D-XXXX: Ok D-XXXX Approaches SCP-XXXX

D-XXXX: Uhh, doc? Are you sure this is a good idea?

Scientist: what do you mean?

D-XXXX: I don’t like that thing…

Scientist: Explain yourself, please █████

D-XXXX: The thing’s freaking me out, man!

Scientist: Calm down, please explain how you feel cur-

D-XXXX begins banging on the door violently with both his fists while screaming as SCP-XXXX begins approaching him slowly.

D-XXXX: LET ME THE FUCK OUT!

Scientist: █████ what’s wrong!

D-XXXX: IT SAID IT’S GONNA FUCKING GUT M-

A loud squawk is heard and the audio file ends.

D-XXXX suddenly screams as a high-pitched squawk emits from SCP-XXXX, the creature then proceeds to jump on D-XXXX’s chest and begins tickling him. D-XXXX starts laughing hysterically while his eyes and jaw opened to 3 times that of the average human being.

After 2 minutes of this D-XXXX began coughing up blood while still laughing, tears of blood began to stream down the sides of his face until eventually D-XXXX regurgitated his own heart and collapsed onto the cell floor.

SCP-XXXX then quickly returned to its dark spot in the cell and when two guards came to retrieve the body SCP-XXXX seemed to allow them to enter and leave without any attempt to attack them.

D-XXXX Deceased Cause of death: displacement of all internal organs and removal of the heart.

Other symptoms include burst lungs, broken ribs, unhinged jaw, internal bleeding, and black wool clogging up the suspect's bowls, made from his own flesh. S

Since the test, the cell has emitted a seemingly unpleasant and almost disturbing atmosphere to anyone who approaches it. Some feeling depressed and others feeling scared. It is becoming noticeable to those even within a 5-meter radius, from what staff can tell it seems that the events of Test-A has distressed or perhaps even angered SCP-XXXX and this unpleasant effect on those around the cell is a defense mechanism.

Test B - 11th of December 2019

SCP-XXXX has since calmed from its previous test, throughout the summer it seemed extremely inactive, probably due to the length of the days and the heat. It has been noted that SCP-XXXX enjoys the cell being kept to a temperature of -10°C. Now that winter has come, SCP-XXXX has started to show normal activity once more. This has made it very clear that the specimen is highly nocturnal and will hide away during the day, this is also supported by the fact that when charcoal is left in the specimen's cell, it will not feast until exactly 12:00 AM.

This next test will be to find out how SCP-XXXX behaves when the simulated daylight cycle within the cell is turned off.

The specimen showed no signs of activity within the cell and remained dormant for the whole night and the following day. It wasn't until the night time cycle was turned back on at midnight that SCP-XXXX came out to feed. This had the scientists wondering if their theory on SCP-XXXX being nocturnal was entirely true.

The next test for SCP-XXXX is due on the 12th of January 2020 at ██:██ AM where the researchers will be testing how the specimen behaves when the lights are turned off during the day, a 3rd attempt to observe SCP-XXXX feeding will also be performed, all other attempts have resulted in the creature fleeing the scene before anyone could see what it was doing to the charcoal, and when the lights were back on it had consumed a large portion of the coal but not the whole lot. The researchers plan to replace the observation windows with tinted quantum stealth glass so that they can see the specimen but hopefully it can't see them.
