Item class: Euclid
Containment difficulty: Medium
Item danger: Extreme

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4438 is to be housed in dedicated facility Area-4438, located in ██████████, USA. Should Area-4438 become unsuitable for containment, a new location is to be found and constructed as soon as physically possible. The location should be seismologically stable, and have a size of at least 5 square miles. SCP-4438 is to be suspended by ten (10) GK Exodium Magnetic suspension units in a 10m x 10m x 10m containment unit kept at -30 C (-22 F) at all times. Walls of the containment cell are to be lined with at least ten (10) meters of blast resistant concrete, and is to be located no less than fifty (50) meters below the surface.
Item Description: SCP-4438 is an object almost exactly resembling the German V2 missile, approximately twice the size of the original. It appears to be constructed in almost the exact same way as the original rocket, the only known difference being the payload it carries. The rocket seems to be virtually indestructible, at least to the current foundation efforts, having survived one XK class End-of-the-World scenario caused by itself following its detonation on ██/██/██ due to a shock impact on the floor of the containment chamber caused by three (3) of the GK Exodium Magnetic suspension units failing. Following this XK class scenario, SCP-2000 activated. See incident report IR-4438-1 for a full report. The payload operates on an unknown mechanism, as disassembly may [REDACTED]. The payload has a yield of approximately ████ megatons, which has proven to be enough to completely annihilate all life on Earth. The proposed radioactive fallout projection if detonated in its containment chamber covers most of the Earth, and can be found in document SCP-4438-E-5. The most relevant currently proposed and supported theory is that SCP-4438 is an Antimatter Spontaneous Energy Release Device, shortened to “ASERD” unreplicable by current technology.
Primary Anomalous Effect: Individuals who have a CRV score of below 15 and view, hear, or otherwise come into contact with anything relating to SCP-4438 either directly or indirectly will experience its primary anomalous trait. 5-10 minutes after contact with any material relating to SCP-4438, the individual in question will experience heavy paranoia related to the end of the world. After 1-2 hours post-contact, the individual will also experience auditory hallucinations consisting of a low rumble that slowly grows louder, capping off at 100dB, and will have the sudden and very strong urge to tell others about SCP-4438, however due to the individuals condition, the information will be entirely false. Approximately one (1) day after contact with material pertaining either directly or indirectly to SCP-4438, the individual in question will usually commit suicide, although in special cases individuals have made it to 6+ days with intervention from medical personnel. After 3+ days post-contact, [REDACTED]. Testing upon SCP-4438 must be approved by unanimous vote of the Overseer Council, and may only be carried out by Head Researcher and above. See document SCP-4438-T for testing logs related to SCP-4438.
