SCP-XXXX
Object Class- Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The route to SCP-XXXX is to be blocked off at both ends and manned by at least two foundation personnel disguised as road workers on each side. A detour route is to be set up to prevent any unauthorized personnel from gaining access to SCP-XXXX, and any questions are to be provided with the cover story of loose soil and erosion putting the road out of commission. Since the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX manifest themselves when an automobile or motorcycle are driven through SCP-XXXX, a perimeter fence or any other measures preventing unauthorized personnel from accessing SCP-XXXX are considered unnecessary at this time. Any trespassers are to be administered class B amnestics and released after questioning.
SCP-XXXX was brought to the foundation’s attention when numerous reports by civilians driving on Highway (Redacted) prompted an investigation, after which the area was taken under foundation control and containment procedures were put in place.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a special anomaly along the northbound route of a densely forested backroads section of Highway (Redacted), located in (Redacted). SCP-XXXX appears as a curve in the road which curves around a mountainside, followed by what would normally be a flat stretch of road, followed once again by another curve around the other side of the mountain. On each end of SCP-XXXX are hazard warning signs posted to road maintenance standards, designated as SCP-XXXX-1. The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX manifest when a subject drives an automobile around the bend of SCP-XXXX to the point when SCP-XXXX-1 is no longer visible, after which the subject becomes undetectable by any external means until exiting from SCP-XXXX on the other side, however they can be monitored while inside of SCP-XXXX so long as the device used to record and transmit data is inside or attached to the vehicle while entering SCP-XXXX. After reaching the no return point, any attempts the subject makes to drive back through SCP-XXXX the way they came are met with an infinitely recurring loop of road. This anomaly does not have any effect on progress through SCP-XXXX in the other direction. The subject may only exit SCP-XXXX by driving to the other side, and all anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX cease upon viewing SCP-XXXX-1 on the other side. While inside of SCP-XXXX, a car’s battery and fuel do not deplete, and any attempts to exit the vehicle are unsuccessful, as are attempts to drive the vehicle off the road (see experiment log for more details).
When SCP-XXXX is approached on foot, SCP-XXXX-1 appears as a standard hazard warning sign with the message, “Watch for Fallen Rocks”. SCP-XXXX-1’s anomalous properties manifest when the stretch of road is approached in a vehicle when it will read and depict hazards and warnings of a more anomalous nature. After the vehicle has entered SCP-XXXX, the event depicted on SCP-XXXX-1 will occur along the flat stretch of road between the instances of SCP-XXXX-1. See the experiment log below for examples. The anomalies within SCP-XXXX are contained within its boundaries and have no effect on the world outside of SCP-XXXX.
Experiment Log:
D-XXXX was fitted with a body camera and was sent into SCP-XXXX on foot.
D-XXXX was able to be monitored via external means while inside of SCP-XXXX, the feed from his body camera was also transmitted without error. D-XXXX made it through safely to the other side without any anomalies occurring.
D-XXXX was sent into SCP-XXXX fitted with radio equipment in an automobile fitted with front and back facing cameras.
SCP-XXXX-1 depicted a picture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. After D-XXXX entered SCP-XXXX, all external means of monitoring him ceased to function, though feed from his cameras could still be received as normal. As D-XXXX drove through SCP-XXXX, a Tyrannosaurus Rex came from the forested area beside and began pursuing the vehicle. At this point, D-XXXX increases the speed of the vehicle and continues until he has exited SCP-XXXX.
D-XXXX was sent into SCP-XXXX fitted with radio equipment in an automobile fitted with 360-degree cameras and given directions to attempt to turn around and attempt to exit SCP-XXXX the way he came.
SCP-XXXX-1 depicted a loop similar to that of a roller coaster. D-XXXX enters SCP-XXXX and turns the automobile around, attempting to exit the way he came in. This is met with an infinitely recurring loop of road. D-XXXX soon realizes this, and turns the automobile back around and continues through SCP-XXXX. D-XXXX encounters the loop depicted in the picture and attempts to drive around it. D-XXXX seemingly runs into an invisible wall and is unable to leave the road. D-XXXX is then told by researchers to attempt to drive through the loop. This results in D-XXXX flipping the automobile over. D-XXXX attempts to exit the car, at first via the doors, then by attempting to smash the windows. All attempts result in failure, showing abnormally high durability. D-XXXX is presumed lost and the experiment is shut down.
D-XXXX is fitted with radio equipment, body camera, and is sent into SCP-XXXX on a motorcycle.
SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties do not manifest and D-XXXX makes it safely to the other side. Anomaly is presumed to only manifest in automobiles.
D-XXXX is fitted with radio equipment and is sent into SCP-XXXX with an automobile fitted with 360-degree cameras and explosives, planted with the intention of blowing the doors off of the car. The device is tested before the experiment, and as a result, the automobile is missing one of its doors.
SCP-XXXX-1 depicts a swamp. D-XXXX enters SCP-XXXX to find a thick bog that he has difficulty driving through. D-XXXX is instructed to exit the vehicle and continue on foot. The explosives are detonated but have no effect on the door. D-XXXX is ordered to exit the vehicle through the missing door. D-XXXX is unable to do so, claiming there is an invisible barrier preventing him from leaving. D-XXXX is ordered to continue driving through the bog. Water and sludge from the bog were able to breach the invisible barrier and enter the vehicle. After hours of minimal progress, D-XXXX was able to exit SCP-XXXX. Analysis of the vehicle post-experiment shows no evidence of fuel or battery use.
