A Shredder

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held within a .5mx.5mx.5m cell, this cell in turn held within a 3mx3mx3m cell, located at Site-██

Testing or research of SCP-XXXX requires authorization by the acting SCP-XXXX project head.

Access to SCP-XXXX’s cell is restricted to any personnel under level 2. Any personnel that comes into contact with SCP-XXXX are to be removed for psychological evaluation. Personnel with prolonged exposure to SCP-XXXX may be subject to therapy. Any weak-willed personnel are to be restricted from accessing SCP-XXXX's cell.

Description: SCP-XXXX was retrieved by MTF Mu-4 (“Debuggers”) on May 25th, 20██, upon reports of employees working at ██████ Industries, located Chicago, Illinois, seemingly disappearing after coming into contact with a newly purchased shredder. All civilian witnesses were administered Class B amnestics.

SCP-XXXX is a modern shredder, roughly .5 meters tall, .3 meters wide. SCP-XXXX is made of an unremarkable make. There is no branding on the object.

Anything written or pinned onto SCP-XXXX will dissolve seconds after placement. SCP-XXXX emanates an alluring aura of comfort, which reaches 2.6 meters. At the .5 meter mark, this aura intensifies significantly, making affected individuals feel a burning curiosity and a false sense of safety.

Individuals who are present within 1 meter of SCP-XXXX become instances of SCP-XXXX-2. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will approach SCP-XXXX at a leisurely pace, react violently to attempted aid by personnel, and are persistent in getting as close to SCP-XXXX as possible.

Once SCP-XXXX-2 is within roughly .5 meters of SCP-XXXX, tendrils representing strips of paper will protrude and extend out to wrap around SCP-XXXX-2, pulling them into SCP-XXXX. Interestingly, the victim is not shredded, rather seemingly swallowed into the shredder’s mouth, which is capable of extending to fit SCP-XXXX-2 inside it.

SCP-XXXX is capable of running without any apparent power source and is assumed to be powered by energy from any being or object that it consumes. It is currently unknown to the Foundation’s knowledge of what happens to subjects consumed by SCP-XXXX.
