Item #: SCP-4738

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4738 is currently kept in a standard humanoid containment cell. Any personnel exposed to SCP-4738 for a time period of more than 36 total hours must undergo mandatory psychological testing, and are not to be re-exposed to the entity for a period of 90 hours. Subsequent re-evaluation should take place after every encounter with SCP-4738. Personnel who have previously been exposed to SCP-4738 for more than 36 collective hours may not interact with, engage, or observe the anomaly until the 90 hour rest period has been observed. Failing to do this may result in the creation of an instance of SCP-4738-01. No more than one (1) member of staff previously exposed for over 36 collective hours may participate in or observe SCP-4738 during testing at any given time.

Description: SCP-4738 is a 54-year old caucasian female measuring about 1.5 metres tall, and weighing around 110kg. The subject has medium-length greying brown hair and green eyes. The personality of the subject has been described as charismatic and easygoing. Personnel exposed to SCP-4738 experience a sense of relief, amiability, and an increase in morale after a time period of 45 minutes to one hour, with said effects lasting for up to 24 hours after the encounter.

When SCP-4738 and two or more personnel (at least one previously exposed to SCP-4738 for a minimum of 36 total hours, and a minimum of one person not having come into contact with the subject in the past) are contained within the same room, the staff member having been previously exposed to the entity will become an instance of SCP-4738-01. SCP-4738-01 does not appear to physically change, however, will become ignorant of basic needs, such as eating and drinking. According to blood tests performed on instances of SCP-4738-01, the entities appear to have permanently increased serotonin and dopamine levels. The hypothalamus also appears to shrink and leptin levels increase. Instances of SCP-4738-01 are passive but will attempt to continue spending time around personnel with the purpose of making more entities. Personnel report sensitivity to light and often mild migraines during this process. Total conversion takes approximately one hour. Converted entities may be reverted using class B amnestics.

Addendum 1: Test Logs

Test Log #4738-01
Date:
2007/02/13
Subject(s):
D-15546 and D-15547
Method:
Subject D-15546 was placed in an adjacent cell to SCP-4738’s containment chamber, separated by a 66cm thick cinder block wall. After 36 hours, subject D-15547 was introduced into D-15546’s chamber.
Results:
The subject did not report any change in mood. Subject D-15546 failed to become an instance of SCP-4738-01 after the introduction of D-15547 and appeared to not be affected by the entity.

Test Log #4738-02
Date:
2007/02/27
Subject(s):
D-15546 and D-15547
Method:
Subject D-15546 was placed in an adjacent cell to SCP-4738’s containment chamber, separated by a 66cm thick cinder block wall. The subject could communicate with the entity via a three-way intercom, moderated by Foundation staff at all times. Subject D-15547 was placed in D-15546’s chamber after 36 hours.
Results:
The subject began to have a more positive attitude after talking to the entity for about three hours. The object kept up a steady stream of conversation for the full 36 hours, stopping only briefly on occasion. D-15546 did not report feeling hungry, thirsty, or tired and abstained from eating, drinking or stopping to rest during the testing period. Subject D-15547 was introduced to D-15546’s containment cell for an hour. No instance of SCP-4738-01 was created, although subject D-15546 did report a slight headache lasting a few minutes. When the subject was removed from the cell, D-15546 passed out and was taken to the infirmary for acute dehydration.

Test Log #4738-03
Date:
2007/03/13
Subject(s):
D-15547 and D-15548
Method:
Subject D-15547 was placed in an adjacent cell to SCP-4738’s containment chamber, separated by a 4cm piece of polymethyl methacrylate (Plexiglass). After 36 hours of total exposure, D-15548 was introduced into D-15547’s chamber for one hour.
Results:
After one and a half hours, D-15547 reported feeling cheerful and expressed an interest in conversing with someone. When subject D-15548 was introduced about 34 hours later, D-15548 was immediately engaged in conversation with D-15547. 35 minutes after introducing the second test subject, D-15547 requested that the lights be turned down because she claimed that “it hurt to think”. This request was subsequently denied. 25 minutes later, D-15547 became an instance of SCP-4738-01. Subject was later reverted using Class B amnestics.
