Object Class: Safe Euclid [See Incident-5027-001a]
Containment Procedures: All staff who are entering the cell of the object will be given a routine search of their person for any lighting devices. Then they are allowed to enter. SCP-5027 is to be kept in a steel container devoid of all light. The inner temperature of the container is to be kept between negative 7 and 0 degrees Celsius. The object on the inside of the container is to be exposed to ultraviolet light from 11:59 to 12:01 every week (Sunday) Any researcher below level 3 clearance are to undergo class D amnesties if they enter and come out of the object. Any research to be conducted on the object has to approved by Two level 4 researchers. If the cube is to go from the Stable to Critical state, the adjacent cell blocks will be devoid of light, and all staff will be denied access into a 25 meter square perimeter around SCP-5027. Staff is allowed in the chamber of the object for a maximum of 5 minutes.
Description: SCP-5027 is a 0.6 meter cube that when viewed by the naked eye, seems to have a “Black glow” as described D class subject #[DATA EXPUNGED]. The cube has a warping affect, and is able to alter the light rays around to alter its size at a pulsating rate. When exposed to light that is below 800 lumens, the cube will instantly begin its pulsating affect, and having more variation to the minimum/maximum the more lumens it is exposed too. When exposed to a lumen value above 1600 lumens, the cube will start growing in size, which signifies it’s “Critical State.” The growing factor of SCP-5027 is exponential, and will continue to grow until reduced to a lumen level of 100 or below. When in its critical state, SCP-5027 will consume anything that comes into it, this includes all materials. It has not yet been identified where the objects that the cube swallows go. When viewing the Black Cube for about 5 minutes, in D-class Subjects there has been a documented increase in activity in the occipital lobe and the prefrontal cortex. After 30 minutes, an unusual spike of activity appears in the prefrontal cortex, and the viewer will try to feel the Cube, the cube will sever off the hand of whoever touched it. When SCP-5027 is in Cold temperatures (-7 to 0 degrees Celsius) its growing and pulsating rate in both stages is significantly slowed by the cold. There is no known reason for this, as the object is not to be confirmed as living.

“It has been reported that on Site-██ SCP-5027 Has somehow reached a lumen capacity of above [DATA EXPUNGED] and has engulfed its containment area, and the containment cell of SCP-███. There has been a reported 3 casualties when security personnel tried to apprehend the SCP, but were engulfed in the process of it warping light to make it seem smaller. This was at ██00 hours on █/██/████.”

“After the events of Incident-5027-001a, Dr. ████████ has requested that SCP-5027 to be upgraded to class Euclid. Class advancing proposal pending.

Incident-5027-002
“A D-class personal was allowed to bring in a flashlight to view the Black Cube. After experiencing a disoriented state by looking at the object for too long, he tried to touch it. Immediately the object completely severed the hand from the arm in the process, which had a camera attached to it. Feed was immediately lost when the hand was swallowed.

"One of the security personnel has reported popping into a different world of fire and death. We asked him how much time had passed between the time he got swallowed and coming back out of the black cube. He said around 5 minutes, and describes it as a wide black expanse, freezing, until he came to the other side. It had been 27 years. There will be continued research as to where this portal leads too."
Incident-5027-004a
A large rover was allowed acces to the cube, it has the most sophisticated radio systems on the planet, so we hope it can transmit its finding back to us. As it went through, video cameras picked up the slightest deeper insulation of the visual size of the object. It says it was made in 26██. This is a large revelation, and O5 Command has startes to take immdiate preparations as what's supposedly going to come, and they are heavily locking down anything with the means to create fire.

The rover that was released to the future was called back to Site-██. The rover took 27 years to return back from the cube, and it provided some interesting information. The burning husk of a planet it found was indeed earth. We have no idea how the instance came to be, but the O5's are trying to figure it out"
