Special Containment Procedures: Both components of SCP-XXXX are to be stored in separate item containment boxes in separate rooms. These rooms are to be connected to one singular testing area, containing a 10 x 5 x 50 meter pool, that is to be used for testing. This pool is to be drained while not in use and is to be should only be filled with freshwater or saltwater, as per Researcher ██████'s request.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be placed in a standard item containment box in a 5 x 5 x 5 meter room, with no further containment procedures necessary.
SCP-XXXX-2 is to be placed in a steel 10 x 10 x 5 meter item containment box, with a 1 m diameter drain pipe leading out from under its box. A small cup of freshwater is to be placed inside SCP-XXXX-2's room in the provided shelf. Due to the resulting purity of the liquid that SCP-XXXX-2 produces, the liquid has been approved for usage as Site ██'s standard water supply. This water supply is to be tested daily for any alterations. If another liquid is suddenly pumped into the water supply, then it must be immediately cut off. Site ██ will then switch to its backup water supply while SCP-XXXX-2's chamber is inspected for any changes or abnormalities.
SCP-XXXX is not to be assembled except when being tested, and both components are to stay in their respective containment boxes unless otherwise instructed by Researcher ██████ or security personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard set containing a snorkel mask and a snorkel, designated as SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 respectively. SCP-XXXX was discovered when a diver from █████, California went missing at a local beach, and was found one week later in Honolulu, Hawaii, claiming that he had swam there. The Foundation took him into custody for questioning, seized SCP-XXXX, and administered Class B amnestics.
Both components of SCP-XXXX have shown to have remarkable resistance to pressure. Multiple hydraulic press and deep water tests have suggested that SCP-XXXX is completely immune to being crushed by pressure.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a plastic single lens snorkel mask. It shows very few anomalous properties when separated from SCP-XXXX-2. While it is immune to pressure, the mask itself is not immune to heavy blunt force, and the mask can be broken as easily as a standard diving mask would. Once it is broken, however, the mask begins slowly repairing itself in a process that takes anywhere from 24 hours to one week. High-speed video surveillance has shown that the plastic of the mask seems to "grow" back, negating the need for the previous plastic to be present. During this period, the full effects of SCP-XXXX will not be able to be activated until SCP-XXXX-1 has repaired itself.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a standard snorkel with a semi-dry valve at its opening. When separated from SCP-XXXX-1, it constantly secretes liquid from its opening and mouthpiece. The rate at which this liquid is secreted varies, with the highest recorded pressure being above 20,000 psi. The liquid that it secretes seems to have the same properties as the closest liquid to SCP-XXXX-2. Observations have shown that SCP-XXXX-2 does not drain the liquid from that source, but instead mimics its properties. SCP-XXXX-2 does not seem to have a limit in what liquid it can produce.
When SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are connected, SCP-XXXX-2 ceases to secrete liquid. SCP-XXXX seems to float on top of any liquid. Applying weight to the top of SCP-XXXX does not result in it sinking. When a subject holds SCP-XXXX in their hand, and a body of water that they can completely submerge in is within a 50 meter radius of them, they feel compelled to put on SCP-XXXX. When they do, the subject's body immediately begins to fill with liquid that seems to be a mixture of seawater and oil. The mask will stay on the subject until they fully submerge themselves in liquid, or until they die of asphyxiation.
If the subject fully submerges themselves in liquid, their body will immediately be purged of SCP-XXXX's mixture. They will become neutrally buoyant in the liquid and be able to breathe. Subjects wearing SCP-XXXX seem to inherit SCP-XXXX's pressure immunity, as they can swim down to depths that would normally kill humans. Subjects wearing SCP-XXXX seem to have increased stamina, able to swim long distances at long durations without stopping. Animals that live in water that are usually hostile to humans will not appear to be able to sense a subject wearing SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX will only be able to be taken off while the subject is submerged in liquid. If the subject is to resurface, their body will begin filling up with SCP-XXXX's liquid mixture unless the re-submerge themselves. When they take off SCP-XXXX, all of its abilities will instantly vanish.
