Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: If not used, the item is to be held in a safe, at least 4 kilometers above sea level, in order to prevent its anomalous properties from activating and endangering the site it is held in. SCP-XXXX is only to be handled by agent █████ and agent ███, who have underwent training, specifically in order to wield SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a wooden fan with Japanese origin. Its wooden supports are covered in teal blue, worn away paint of organic origin and on its main body are paintings of bluish clouds and flowers. If used by a human, below 4 kilometers above sea level, it will anomalously emit streams of cold air, the temperature decreasing with the intensity of the waving motion. This has been observed multiple times, to freeze the body of the unsuspecting user as the streams of air can reach temperatures of as low as approximately 70°K, if waved a full 180°, 3 times per second. On its side supports are carved the words "feel the breeze, cool down" in ancient Japanese.
SCP-XXXX is in use by the SCP foundation, as its anomalous properties are a very cheap and effective method of freezing substances and ventilating smaller areas, extremely efficiently. The only real down side to the use of SCP-XXXX is the danger of easily lowering the air flow's temperature too low for human survival.
Its creation has been linked with the Japanese myth of the Yuki-Onna, a female human yokai, that is known for living in anomalously cold areas and potentially using the fan for creating this habitat.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX was found to be linked with ancient Japanese mythology deeply, as a myth-oriented cult with its majority being in Japan, ████, has, on multiple occasions, attempted to retrieve SCP-XXXX and use it for religious rituals.
