Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5841 is to be kept in a 20 x 20 x 20 meter room at Site-13. It requires a constant supply of water and 30 pounds of raw meat per day. It becomes aggressive if placed in smaller spaces, denied food, or denied water. Following incident 5841-1 the door and walls of the room are reinforced, and additional locks have been added.
Description: SCP-5841 has an appearance similar to the mythological gryphon. Its head, wings, and forelimbs that have been identified as those of a red tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis). Its hindquarters and tail match those of a nebelung cat (Felis catus), and its ears have been confirmed to match a lynx (Lynx canadensis). It is 1.5 meters in length, and weighs 58 kilograms. It's dark brown in color, with the tip of the ears and tail being darker. It's beak and the scales of its forelimbs are a dull yellow.
SCP-5841 has been noted to have an additional anomaly to its unusual appearance, if looked at for more than five minutes without looking away, the viewer will grow an Amanita Muscaria mushroom on their head. The mushroom is always 10 centimeters in height, with the cap having a diameter of 10 centimeters. This mushroom can be removed with little effect, though hair does not grow where the mushroom was placed.
SCP-5841 has not been noted to communicate, however it has been found to be able to open doors, windows, and miscellaneous containers, it is able to break most locks, and can pick padlocks. This has given it the class "Keter." Following incident 5841-1, a minimum of 6 classes in animal handling are required before operatives are allowed to handle SCP-5841. Following incident 5841-2, Dr. Jack Bright is not allowed within 30 meters of SCP-5841.
