Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Sixteen SCP-XXXX-A instances (Designated as SCP-XXXX-A1 to A16) are kept at Site-XX high threat entomology wing. Each SCP-XXXX-A instance is kept in a 15m X 15m X 15m tungsten lined chamber. 5m of dirt is to cover form a ground layer for to SCP-XXXX to build on. Heat shielded monitoring equipment are set up to alert onsite personnel of temperature increase of 50 C or higher.
The following raw materials are to be provided monthly via an automated delivery system:
- 50Kg of scrap metal.
- 100Kg of wood chips.
- 10Kg of animal dung.
- 200Kg of gravel and dirt.
- Any additional testing material.
New testing materials may be requisitioned upon approval of Site-XX director.
Only approved personnel are to access internal containment chambers. Personal entering must wear Renforced Cat 4 protective gear. Waste and refuse are to be cleaned quarterly by assigned personnel. In the event of a containment breach the containment cell is to be flooded with a respiratory insecticide.
Webcrawlers and embedded media personnel are to report any potential sightings of SCP-XXXX. All SCP-XXXX instances are to be sedated and delivered with the excavated nest instance to Site-XX. Neutralization is authorized should this prove impractical. Remains are to be compacted in an industrial press then incinerated. Reports of an industrial fire are to be disseminated via media outlets as a cover story.
Experiments involving any of the SCP-XXXX-α instances or their chambers must be approved by level 3/XXXX or higher personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX are a species of Isoptera. SCP-XXXX differs in their large size and distinct coloration. Adult workers (designated SCP-XXXX-δ) average 40 cm to 65 cm. Soldiers (designated SCP-XXXX-γ) range from 80 cm to 90 cm without body modifications. Their base color is a dark brown with red highlights.
SCP-XXXX-A is the designation for a colony of SCP-XXXX. Though SCP-XXXX-A is structured as a it's non anomalous counterparts, evidence suggests ab unnatural level of intelligence.
SCP-XXXX-B is a corrosive chemical SCP-XXXX produces within its digestive tract. SCP-XXXX-B takes the form of a viscous fluid at room temperature. SCP-XXXX can heat and maintain its internal temperature at around 2000c. How SCP-XXXX generates or maintains this temperature is unknown. instances of SCP-XXXX are unfazed by extreme heat, with no known upper limit. If threatened, SCP-XXXX can expel SCP-XXXX-B from its mouth or anus at high speed and distance. Causing severe burns and impact trauma.
At this time Their are four types of SCP-XXXX instances. These are shown in the table below.
| Designation |
Description |
| SCP-XXXX-α |
"Queen" instance. spends most of it's time eating, sleeping or reproducing. SCP-XXXX-α has never been seen moving from its location, likely imobile |
| SCP-XXXX-β |
Act as managers or directors. Often quardenating large amount of workers using pheromones. |
| SCP-XXXX-γ |
Soldier instances, notably more aggressive. Instances often have metal plates and barbs welded to their exoskeleton. |
| SCP-XXXX-δ |
Worker instances make up the majority of the nests population. These instances gather materials, build structures, supply food and supplies throughout the SCP-XXXX-A |
SCP-XXXX's dietary requirements are not fully understood. SCP-XXXX consumes a large variety of substances. SCP-XXXX has shown preference to Plant mater, wood, animal dung, metals, gasoline, crude oil, and [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX extracts carbon from its food and injects it into metals it consumes. This process results in high quality steel even regardless of the metals initial quality.
Addendum 1: It was observed that SCP-XXXX instances became less aggressive to repeated visitors. Following this, a D-Class personnel (D-32910) was handpicked for an long term experiment. D-32910 was assigned to a colony (SCP-XXXX-A7) for in depth testing of SCP-XXXX. D-32910 was chosen due to their educational background and compliant behavior. SCP-XXXX-A7 was the chosen for testing as it was the first "Foundation bred" colony. This was to reduce possible cross contamination from previous testing.

D-32910 entered the containment chamber and approaches SCP-XXXX-A7. D-32910 was signaled to stop. At point members of SCP-XXXX-A7 notices D-32910 and take an aggressive stance. D-32910 places the gold on the ground carefully and backs away. Members of SCP-XXXX-A7 change focus to the gold and approach it. SCP-XXXX instances melted and consumed it entirely. D-32910 remained in the containment chamber for the remainder of the time while keeping their distance as instructed. SCP-XXXX instances remained pacified for the remainder of the test. D-32910 leaves the containment chamber when signaled |
| Analysis |
"I was briefed on these before going in, but their level of aggression is uncanny. More like wasps or hornets than termites. Can I get some cooling in that suit?" -D-32910

| Protocol |
D-32910 is instructed to enter the containment chamber with the materials, approach the nest until told to stop. They are to place the materials on the ground roughly a half a meter apart. They are then to step away from the nest. D-32910 will stay in the containment chamber for 30 minutes to make observations. If SCP-XXXX instances become aggressive, D-32910 is to calmly exit the chamber. |
| Results |
D-32910 enters the containment chamber and approaches SCP-XXXX-A7. D-32910 is the signal was given to stop. The SCP-XXXX instance face D-32910 but do not show signs of aggression. D-32910 places the materials as instructed and backs away from the nest. The SCP-XXXX instance swarm the gold as prior and begins to melt it using SCP-XXXX-B. A large instance of SCP-XXXX emerges from the nest and assaults the workers. It then melts down a large piece of the gold and consumes it. The remaining gold and steel is consumed by the workers. Workers are seen walking near D-32910 but do not make contact. After 30 minutes D-32910 leaves the chamber as instructed. |
| Analysis |
“That was not the queen, or a soldier. It looks like there may be a more complex hierarchy then initially thought.” -Dr. Clyde
"Workers showed no signs of aggression. I have noticed that they seem to be more agile and aware of their surroundings them then normal termites. They avoided my steps as I approached." -D-32910
The instance was given the SCP-XXXX-β designation after this test. |

D-32910, SCP-XXXX-A7, 1 kg of 14K gold. 1 Remote Limited Space Observation Probe (RLSOP). |
| Protocol |
D-32910 is instructed to enter the containment chamber with the materials, approach the nest until told to stop. They will then place the materials on the ground roughly a half a meter apart. They are then to unpack the RLSOP and activate it. D-32910 has been trained with basic usage of the device. The probe will be controlled remotely by Dr. Clyde. D-32910 will stay in the containment chamber during the duration of the test. If SCP-XXXX instances become aggressive, D-32910 is to activate the emergency recall function. and instructed to exit the chamber with the RLSOP. |
| Results |
D-32910 enters the containment chamber, approaches SCP-XXXX-A7 until the signal is given to stop. The SCP-XXXX instances acknowledged D-32910 but continued as usual. D-32910 placed the materials as instructed. The SCP-XXXX instances melt and consume the gold. D-32910 places the RLSOP on the ground and starts unpacking it. Dr. Clyde connected to the device remotely performed standard diagnostics. Slight static is heard from the probes microphones. The probe is piloted through the nests main entrance. SCP-XXXX instances acknowledge the probe but do not engage. Dr. Clyde focuses the probe on two instances. One is noticeably larger than the other, however both are workers. The smaller instance appears to be holding a piece of gold in its mandibles. The smaller instances drops the gold in front of the larger instance who proceeds to melt it down using SCP-XXXX-B. Following this it regurgitates the material and uses its front legs to shape the molten gold. The gold is formed into a roughly into a cubic shape. After 5 minutes the gold has been formed into a near a cube roughly 7mm in size. The smaller instance proceeds to regurgitate a sizable amount of plant matter and provided it to the larger instance in exchange for the cube. A Director instance similar to the one seen in Experiment.XXXX.A7.2. Approaches and forcefully grabs the gold cube from the first instance. The director instance begins taking the cube further into the nest. Dr. Clyde attempted to trail the instance; However further progress is halted when multiple soldiers show signs of aggression and block the path further. To prevent further disruptions the probe was retracted. The probe packed by D-32910. D-32910 exits the containment chamber with the RLSOP. |
| Analysis |
“SCP-XXXX instances understand geometric shapes as well as the ability to construct them." -Dr. Clyde.
“No noticeable changes on the outside of the nest. I saw the trade happen on the display. Not only is there some form of trade happening between SCP-XXXX instances, but contracted labor as well. Director instances seem disregard this and take materials by force." -D-32910
“I’ve made it clear that no are tests are involve the SCP-XXXX- instance or the surrounding area. This is a formal warning to Dr. Clyde. Don’t let this happen again.” -Dr. Moore. |
Addendum 3: Further tests have shown a complex hierarchy. The worker class seems to be broken down further into specific jobs. The age of the SCP-XXXX instances seems to factor in its assigned role. For example a younger worker may be task with collecting iron and food. While much older workers perform more complex tasks. Workers will provide food and gifts to older members in exchange for goods or services.
Examples:
- Trading iron for food.
- Trading food for a different type of food.
- Trading food or iron for assistance on assigned tasks.
- Trading food or iron for precious metals.
- Trading food or iron for to shape precious metals into different shapes.

Incident.XXXX.28 VIDEO LOG
DATE: 4/27/20██
NOTE: The following Incident took place during a standard scheduled experiment with SCP-XXXX-A7. Dr. Moore was absent due to being bitten by an SCP-████ instance thus requiring medical leave.
[BEGIN LOG]
00:00 - D-32910 performs standard introduction of materials and deployment of the RLSOP.
00:10 - D-32910 begins piloting the probe into the nest. Workers are noted to walk alongside the probe as if following it, no aggression is noted.
00:32 - D-32910 is told to stop and examine a large worker instance. The instance is creating an item out of platinum, which appears to be a spiral shape with a tapered end.
00:33 - Dr. Clyde instructs D-32910 to use the probes mandibles to attempt to take the object away from the instance. D-32910 vocalized disapproval of the action but complies regardless. The instances resist but is unable to stop the drone. Multiple instances eject SCP-XXXX-B at the drone partly obscuring the camera but otherwise leaving the device with minimal damage.
00:34 - Dr. Clyde instructs D-32910 to proceed towards the inner most chamber of the nest. With the object.
00:36 - D-32910 complies, the drone is followed by multiple workers who proceed to eject SCP-XXXX-B onto the drone.
00:40 - The drone reaches the inner section of the nest. The workers have been pushed back by soldiers; however, soldiers do not block the path of the drone.
00:41 - The drone video feed displays an opening. Beyond is a chamber, roughly 75cm in diameter. The walls are lined with precious metals of different shapes and sizes. In the center is a large, balloted SCP-XXXX instance. It is being force fed food by multiple workers. Around the chamber are a dozen director instances
00:42 - Dr. Clyde instructs D-32910 to enter the chamber and place the object by the queen. D-32910 remains motionless.

Report Summary
Investigation of Incident.XXXX.28 has concluded with the following measures taken:
Dr. Clyde
Dr. Clyde was not authorized to perform this test. In doing so, they endangered D-32910, and risked a containment breach. Dr. Clyde has been removed from his position. They are currently awaiting a disciplinary hearing.
SCP-XXXX-A7
Following Incident.XXXX.28, the SCP-XXXX-A7 containment chamber recorded a spike in temperature. Sparks and flames were observed from every opening in the nest. This continued for two hours before returning to normal levels. Further analysis is required to determine the status of SCP-XXXX-A7.
D-32910
D-32910 refused to carry out the orders given to them. They acknowledged that Dr. Clyde did not have authorization to make the request. They defaulted to the orders given by me. This is seen as acceptable behavior and shows a respect of authority. D-32910s future in the project is currently being reviewed by the Site-XX administration.
