Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4491 is contained in is original location near a Volcano in ████████ about 50 Kilometers from Site-██. Moving of SCP-4491 has been tried, but handling of SCP-4491 in quantities of at least 3L is dangerous and gives all personnel at least 10 Metres away frostbite without a special heat suit made for Researchers and all personnel with LVL 3 clearance. Therefore it has a chamber built around it with a room included to the north entrance of the Research wing surrounding it which in fact allows no temperatures bellow -10 Degrees Fahrenheit. The containment room surrounds the SCP-4491 but the room at least at all areas the walls of the chamber are 20 Metres away from SCP-4491 .
Description:
SCP-4491 is a small lake of Lava that was left after the Volcano █████████████ Erupted in 1980.
This volcano is now extinct, but members of the public have not been given knowledge of this as well as it's local council which the foundation have told them the Volcano is dormant/active to keep the public away from SCP-4491 .
The reason of SCP-4491's Classification of an SCP isn't because of its blueish hue, its because it's un-natural effects. These Effects include Frostbite, Brain Damage, Colds, Lung Cancer, Freezing, Falling apart and turning into Ice. This SCP in the improper conditions can produce Nitrogen in a gaseous state and can kill all personnel and members of the public in a 500 Kilometre Radius. SCP-4491 is colder than liquid nitrogen and this SCP is the opposite of the lava that should have been produced is in fact too cold to approach it within 1 metre.
Addendum 1:
Dr ███████ Produced a theory to why SCP-4491 exists and the following is his words:
SCP-XXXX may exist due to a leaking crack of where it seems to have leaked from which our Hazmat team went through and found more SCP-4491 but in a solid state which wasn't dangerous to be near. This could have froze the lava and reformed it into being so dangerous.
Dr ███████ Was found to have Brain Damage caused by SCP-4491 after found collapsed in his desk while testing with over 3L of SCP-4491.
Addendum 2:
The reason we can take samples of SCP-4491 is with a Special Heated Extractor Arm (SHEA for short.)
We have tested to make SCP-4491 into a Gas and Solid, but have failed. The O5 Council Confiscated 1.5L of SCP-4491 to give to multiple Sites to test it with other SCPs.
One report of success is when SCP-4491 was run through SCP-914 on Fine and Very Fine. On Fine SCP-4491 was turned into a gas and when put through on Very Fine it became a solid.
SCP-4491 in it's Solid Form can be combined with any material on Very Fine can turn it into a form of the material into a Gas, Solid or Liquid.
Note for testing with SCP-4491 with SCP-914
Don't combine SCP-4491 with hazardous materials.
