Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 1x1x1 meter steel framed safe. The safe must have a filtration system in place to send oxygen and preservatives to and from the box to ensure SCP-XXXX will maintain normal status. A single staff member of Level 3 may be placed in order to ensure all operations on SCP-XXXX will maintain order. Subjects exposed to SCP-XXXX must be quarantined and neutralized. There is no currently known way to reverse the effects of SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX was found in a box, found within a 20th century barn in Kansas, ██████ . It appears to originate from a local producer, but no known trace has been found. SCP-XXXX is a set of 138 gumballs of the assorted colors of yellow, red, and blue. Each is individually rapped in a plastic cover reading the words "Rockstar Bubblegum". No known cases of other boxes existing. SCP-XXXX was brought to attention after an outbreak occured after a group of civilians at ██████ ███ found and consumed SCP-XXXX. A group of 20 field researchers were sent out to exterminate the SCP-XXXX and collect it's box.
SCP-XXXX represents a more sophisticated, but almost identical version of the horseshoe crab. SCP-XXXX has 3 colors (red, blue, and yellow), and it’s eggs can remain dormant and stored. It also contains pheromones capable of stunting growth, regeneration, and deterioration on the posterior side of SCP-XXXX,s body.
During test, subject #77650 was subject to the SCP-XXXXA. Subject’s #77650, #77651, and #77652 were subject to SCP-XXXX. After 2 days, each effect took place. Each subject was fed through a mailslot delivering a tray of food, and subjects were not permitted to leave. A level 3 officer, ID# ██████ was grabbed by subject #77650. And proceed to bite Officer ID# ██████. After noticeable swelling in the tongue, he was neutralized.
Each gumball has unique properties. When chewed, SCP-XXXXA will excrete its eggs into the chewer’s tongue. The eggs will grow until a dominant egg is seen. The dominant egg will use all resources while other eggs will shrivel and die. The parasite that grows, causing the size of the tongue to double. SCP-XXXXA indicate a parasite that will burst the tongue due to its growing size and will proceed to take it’s sharp tail and inject nerve cells into the brain, causing total takeover by the parasite. No intelligent traits have surfaced from any SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXXB indicate their own properties when chewed. The parasite will not burst the tongue, but instead will cause the body to put all energy into the creation of fat, and will not stop until the host is malnourished. Then, several SCP-XXXXB will emerge, feeding on the host. SCP-XXXXC stunt growth tremendously. During the testing of SCP-XXXX, subject #77652 had seen a height change from 5’ 6” to a recorded 8’ 3” until death. After death, the subject’s skin becomes hard and made of keratin, growing from the nose and spreading. SCP-XXXX has been noted to take shelter inside a host of SCP-XXXXC.
