Item #:
SCP-XXXX
Object Class:
-Euclid
-Code-Based Entity
Security Clearance:
Level 3/XXXX
Breach Code:
15/Bravo/Mu-Gamma
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in Data Terminal F within Site-15. Terminal F is not to be upgraded to modern technology, and only updated to the next stage of the technology after a newer model is released. SCP-XXXX's program is not permitted to be active for more than 24 hours, and is not permitted to communicate with any other code based SCPs in the facility, especially SCP-079 (See addendum 2). SCP-XXXX is also not to be connected to any mainframe other than the specialised mainframe designed to assist in testing SCPs within Site-15. The mainframe is also to be purged of all data and SCPs prior to testing. In the event of a breach, Code Dark is to be activated and the facility, as well as all surrounding areas, are to be disconnected from the main power grid and all SCiPNET servers. Rho-9 are also to be alerted about any changes in behavior immediately for mainframe modification.
Should SCP-XXXX be online for over 24 hours for long term testing, a full mainframe reset should occur, as well as the blocking of all incoming and outgoing data transmissions. Any necessary transmissions should be done via wireless devices (i.e: mobile devices connected to mobile networks) or via unconnected computer systems. As to comply with this, three (3) terminals are not to be in any connection loops from the Site-15 systems, and must rely on the nearby outpost for connections.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a string of code, designed to function on the code application system "Python", that has the ability to modify any technological item it comes into contact with. SCP-XXXX has been able to:
- Grant access to locked items.
- Create memetic hazards on device monitors/screens.
- Create Class 1 to Class 5 eldritch entities. (See Incident Log XXXX-Alpha.)
- Redirect access from ordinary websites to the SCiPNET servers, and vice versa.
- Override security controls for doors and shutters.
- Lock Rho-9 codes out of the SCiPNET system. (See Incident Report XXXX-Alpha.)
SCP-XXXX is also been known to replicate rapidly under all conditions, but can easily be defeated by deactivating the power source of the application, but this is only effective in the earlier stages of infection, and is no longer viable after the main source code of the device has been altered at a level that inputs are no longer responsive. SCP-XXXX is also able to show intelligence similar to that of an AI developed in the distant future after a minimum of decade of extensive machine learning. It is currently unclear how SCP-XXXX has developed this ability. SCP-XXXX is currently able to transfer between devices by cables, including but not limited to SCRAT cables, HDMI cables, Ethernet/phone cables, storage medium cables (USB, SD etc.) and VGA cables. Currently, SCP-XXXX is only able to be blocked from transferring between devices with wireless transmissions that do not require downloading content. Because of this, all transmissions coming out of Site-15 are to be monitored for possible breaches.
History:
The code utilised in SCP-XXXX is traceable back to ██/██/1992 and was created for use in the Cray Supercomputer line, but was immediately identified as anomalous when seven separate weapons tests were leaked, including one test including MTF Unit Omega-7 for the US military. This was quickly removed by the foundation whilst the creator was apprehended by UIU and GOC officials. The code was designed utilising a heavily modified form of Python, called Python-A.U, and was adapted for the supercomputers. SCP-XXXX was the first successful creation on this platform, also causing the platform to be crippled entirely due to a bug update by the creators. The computer was collected by the newly created MTF unit, Rho-9 and stored in Site-15, where it was dismantled and the code relocated into older technologies. SCP-XXXX has since been transferred between five operating systems and seventeen different devices.
Incident Log XXXX-Alpha:
At 15:13 Local time on the ██/██/2020, fourteen calls were received in Rho-9 offices from Site-15 complaining about server issues. By the time Rho-9, Mu-4 and Kappa-10 had arrived, a further three call were made about possible SCP breaches. Upon arrival at the main data terminal, Agents quickly realised that the access codes were not working, nor were the backdoor codes provided by Rho-9 Command. This occurrence was recorded with all terminals within the facility, as well as an increase in eldritch cases across specific models of on-site terminals, ranging between Classes 1 through 5. Upon the discovery of SCP-XXXX in the personnel mainframe and the electromagnetic isolators deactivated by SCP-079, a Level 3 blackout was declared for all sites connected to the SCiPNet US mainframe whilst Rho-9 agents dealt with all eldritch cases in the site. After Kappa-10 and Mu-4 had successfully trapped each SCP in an isolated terminal, power was reinitiated for all sites, whilst the SCiPNet servers were kept offline for a further 3 days whilst data sweeping and SCP-XXXX was purged from the system.
The cause of the incident was an act of ignorance, where SCP-XXXX was not purged from the testing mainframe and was introduced to other SCPs in the site. These SCPs were able to collectively form a large scale data breach, causing the SCPs to gain control of the Site-15 mainframe. Testing of most SCPs is suspended until the mainframe is fully purged and reset.
