Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]

Description: SCP-6478 is a division of Area Sierra located in [redacted], Greenland. It is impossible to observe such sector from outside the facility. Submarine exploration groups have not been able to find alleged sector from the outside. No blueprints have such sector listed. This suggests that SCP-6478 is not physically located with the rest of the Area. SCP-6478 can be reached when using elevator shaft 2C. Upon selecting a floor for the elevator, there is a slight chance for it to take the user to the hidden sector. This process happens randomly, however is more likely to occur to subjects with mental illness or weak will. Upon entering the sector, the elevator does not respond to any input. This does not effect the elevator's functionality in other areas of the site. This causes the illusion of the user vanishing upon entering the elevator, as they never reach their destination. SCP-6478 appears to be a distorted duplication of Area Sierra's biological containment sector. It contains a similar layout and functionality, with some alterations. It is currently unknown if SCP-6478 contains more duplications of Sierra's sectors. Rooms and furniture are out of proportion, with rooms being much larger or smaller than their Sierra counterpart. Bile and blood can be smelled throughout the sector, however there is not a source. All power throughout the sector is shut off. The emergency generator provides power to the emergency lights and doors, however it doesn't seem to be powerful enough to run the entire sector, leading to some doors and most lights to be nonfunctional. The sector has several containment chambers that correspond with Sierra's biological sector's containment chambers. There is evidence that the SCPs contained within the sector do not directly correspond with Sierra's SCPs. These distorted SCPs appear to be completely different and undocumented in our current database. It is still unknown how many there are. Such SCPs have appeared to breach their containment chambers. Due to the isolation and nature of such SCPs, it is currently impossible to relocation or recontain them. Such SCPs are listed below.

SCP-6478-1: A complex virus of unknown origin, once infected the subject's flesh will begin to distort and even "melt." This process can completely melt a human being within 2 hours. The resulting pile of flesh remains alive however, and appears to be able to live on indefinitely.
SCP-6478-2: An animal resembling a dog. It has no fur or skin, completely exposing it's internal flesh. It would appear that such animal was exposed to SCP-6478-1, however it's internal organs remain unharmed, suggesting the animal became immune.
SCP-6478-3: A humanoid biologically similar to Dr. Nicolson Ashish from Area Sierra. It appears to have been exposed to SCP-6478-1. The internal organs have severe damage, with the bone being exposed in multiple places, however enough remains to be functional.

While the sector appears to be void of life, evidence of previous Area Personnel are obvious. Notes, logs, clothes, and IDs have shown that a research group were running the sector for several months prior to it's abandonment. Such personnel do not match any in Sierra current database, however they do match several personnel from several other Biological containment sites. There is evidence of one of Sierra's researchers working in such sector. Dr. Nicolson Ashish was a senior researcher who worked at Area Sierra for [REDACTED] years. Dr. Nicolson went into retirement in 2/2/XX, and was never heard from again. (Upon further investigation of security tapes of that day, it was discovered that Dr. Nicolson never left the Area. Upon entering the elevator 2C, Dr. Nicolson never reached the first floor.) Within the sector, several notes written by Dr. Nicolson have been recovered.

Addendum:

Log 1: "Where the hell did you bring us? One second I'm leaving this place for good, and y'all leave instead? Did you abandon us? Why are you doing this? Let us out. We don't belong here, this isn't our job that's all I know. Unlock this god damn elevator. Let us up."

Log 2: "I don't know any of these people? Did you throw them down here too? This girl over here says she from Site-19. How the hell is that possible, and what is that putrid smell!"

Log 3: "DON'T LEAVE US HERE WITH THIS THING. WE CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO STOP IT. SEND SOMEONE DOWN HERE, AT LEAST GIVE US INSTRUCTIONS."

Log 4: "We literally tried burning it with fire, it appeared to work, the growth is smaller now, but it's still climbing up the walls. One second Dr. Ashen was perfectly fine, then she went in there and started to melt. We sealed the door, but her remains are spreading. What the hell happened."

Log 5: "When I said send help, I didn't mean dogs. 3 dogs came out the elevator today. No explanation. No note. They're really docile though. At least we have something to do."

Log 6: "Ashen has completed covered the walls of the containment cell."

Log 7: "The power went out, we have no idea why. Everything was in order, but now we only have the sickening red lights. Is this a test? Are you testing us huh?"

Log 8: "It's been 1 months now, we've been going through the supplies in the sector's breach shelter, but we're almost out. Are you even receiving these messages?"

Log 9: "One of the dogs melted. It was in the hallway when it started spasming out. This might be some sort of plague. We've sealed off that part of the sector."

Log 10: "It's barking? It can't be, I watched it die."

Log 11: "The emergency generator is fading, we can't fix it, not with the supplies we have. Why did you leave us to rot here?"

Log 12: "It's been 2 months now, that dog is still barking. What is it eating? I know there's no food over there, we took it all with us. What if it doesn't need food anymore."

Log 13: "Something is wrong up there, I can hear it. The smell is worse than ever."

Log 14: "I think the vent seals are failing, the smell is definitely coming from up there."

Log 15: "It's in the air now. They're all dying, only they won't ever truly die, will they?"

Log 16: "Something is wrong, I should be 'dead,' but I'm not. I'm still here. My body is on fire but refuses to die. It won't let me die."

Log 17: "When I find you Bright, I'll make up for my painful immortality by taking yours."
