Upon arriving at his office, he will proceed to check his email, where a colleague has forwarded him a creepy story on "scp-wiki.net", and which Homer proceeds to read. However, while he is busy reading "scp-wiki.net", a critical safety alarm on his control panel has been going off silently, as its siren was not working due to overdue maintenance. As Homer is engrossed in the creepy story, the plant enters meltdown, causing a cascade of plant failures that first engulfs the nearby Shelbyville Power Plant, and eventually devastates the eastern seaboard, leading to casualties of █████████.
