Dysadron:

Some kind of vivi-cooking. Using thaumaturgy to keep your livestock alive whilst cooking it. Inspired by ortolan / lobsters etc…

  • Baby Mandrake Roots (the magical kind, not your non-anomalous. notes on foraging, dogs, earwax etc. Chaz grows his own, seperates them from their mothers at birth so that they continually eat?).
  • Vivid description of drowning the root in a liquid (infused cream? Peach brandy?). Mandrake is all lung (hence the screaming) so by keeping it alive and not letting it die, it's continuously gulping in the flavourful liquid, marinating its innards.
  • Served with accompaniments (to figure out - assuming mandrake has a deep, earthy flavour similar to parsnip, maybe more herbal).

Need something else here so it's not just a weird recipe. Some kind of analogue between the Mandrake's suffering and struggling and Chaz, or people's efforts in general? Idk. @Ambrosegang, please holla if you have any ideas ^^

story: since chaz killed his brother, in order to try to somehow revive him by his magic food bullshit (maybe like, a meat golem that can literally host souls) he attempts to contact satan or some shit to find info about his spiritual whereabouts, and thus satan proposes a deal - chaz will cook something worthy of the lords of hell and he will tell him where spiritually his brother is - so chaz cooks this monstrosity, and in the end all satan says is 'he's not here' or something equally vague
