Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a cryogenic storage locker at Site-123.
Foundation webcrawlers are to monitor culinary blogs and sites for keywords matching SCP-XXXX's aspects. Mentions of “The Pink Lily” and related groups are to be summarily deleted.
Previous members of “The Pink Lily” are to be monitored, investigated, and apprehended by Foundation operatives, if deemed necessary.
Description: SCP-XXXX is eight kilograms of unidentified living brain tissue that induces certain ideas to form in a subject’s thoughts when correctly prepared and ingested. Evidence suggests over 40% of SCP-XXXX's original mass has been consumed.
Ideas occur to subjects within eight to ten hours after consumption. The utility and novelty of these ideas is correlated both to the amount of brain tissue consumed and how it is prepared. Induced ideas span numerous topics, including thoughts on how to better prepare SCP-XXXX for consumption and how to safely protect it.
Subjects who repeatedly consume SCP-XXXX gradually develop a resistance to its effect. This resistance can only be overcome by either consuming larger quantities or discovering more elaborate methods of preparing it for consumption. Symptoms of addiction and dependence are often observed.
SCP-XXXX was first discovered by a collective of chefs, who had been using it to inspire various culinary endeavors. A restaurant located in Birmingham, UK, dubbed “The Pink Lily”, formed from the specific motifs exhibited by SCP-XXXX products, which quickly spread throughout the collective. This restaurant was notable for the high volume of meals being produced in small amounts of time, as well as the meals' popularity. SCP-XXXX was confiscated by Foundation agents on 23/09/2008, inside PoI-XXXX's house.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX Analysis
During research into the history of “The Pink Lily”, it was revealed that prior to the “The Pink Lily” restaurant, the culinary collective responsible was originally a small group of 2 adults. The group's expansion only occurred after the discovery of SCP-XXXX.
An investigation was soon launched, and led to the detection of a private culinary blog ran by PoI-XXXX ''Jonathan Rose''1 under the domain ''www.███████cooking.com'', documenting the group's early history and various recipes created with SCP-XXXX.
Excerpts of the blog are included below.
Testing Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups water or 750 ml
- 15g of salt
- 50g of Mind2
Preparement: In pan combine water, salt, and Mind, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 min. Remove and allow for serving.
Light Mind Recipe
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup basmati rice or 150 g
- 6 cups water or 1500 ml
- 1/3 cup raisin or 50 g
- 20g of pre-cut bacon
- 150g of pre-cut Mind
Preparement: Wash the rice well and soak for half an hour in enough water to fully cover it.
In a medium saucepan combine water and washed rice and bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer until rice is soft, about 25 min.Add bacon and Mind, and stir over medium-low heat for 30 minutes or until thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving.
Chef Notes: Joan brought the Mind a few weeks ago to our kitchen. It's completely amazing, and I've been trying to come up with a few recipes to go along with it. Since I am happiest when there's rice, I couldn't help but pinch some twisty raisin. The sharpness of the Mind balanced out the sweetness. The salty crunch of the bacon brought another texture, and, come on, there's no need for convincing. It's an easy sell. Even Joan liked it.
Mind Chocolate Chip Recipe
Ingredients:
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tin milk
- 1 piece egg
- 165 g chocolate chip
- 200 g of pre-cut Mind
Preparement: Heat oven to 180 C. Stir together flour in medium bowl, cut in cold butter until crumbly.
Stir in ½ cup chocolate chips, press mixture on bottom of ungreased baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
Combine milk, vanilla, and Mind in a large bowl. Stir in remaining chocolate chips. Spread evenly over hot baked crust. Bake for 25 minutes until golden pink. Cool completely in pan, cut into squares.
Chef Notes: The Mind can go with literally everything, so why not some chocolate chips? They are soft and tasty without being overly rich or sweet. Our tiny group is growing thanks to it, and I'm very thankful! Though, for now, let's save it for a while.

Low-Fat Mind Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tins condensed coconut milk or 405 g
- 5½ cups water or 1375 ml
- ¾ cup rice powder or 105 g
- ½ teaspoon rose water
- ½ cup pistachio nut or 50 g, grated
- 30 g of pre-cut Mind
Preparement: In a casserole, bring milk with 4 cups of water. In another bowl, dissolve the remaining water with the rice powder and vanilla powder.
Slowly pour the rice mixture and the Mind over the hot milk constantly stirring and cook on low heat for 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens. Add the rose water and mix well.
Pour the mixture into small bowls and garnish with the grated pistachio.
Chef Notes: Coconut milk has a clean sweetness to its scent, and since there's not too much sugar to muck it up, that essence remains. Not much of the Mind, sorry for that! We really need saving it up, despite Joan's multiple complaints. He's been giving me nasty looks, ever since I took the Mind for myself. (I am the right chef for it, mind you!)
Wormy Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6 cups water or 1500 ml
- 100g of pre-cut tapeworms
- 1kg of pre-cut Mind
Preparement: In pan, combine water, tapeworms, and Mind, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 min. Remove and allow for serving.
Chef Notes: The idea came up to me last night, when I found some of these pesky ones on the Mind. (needed an excuse to eat more :P) A little too crunchy, sometimes, but still a good one nonetheless! Joan didn't allow me to serve it, but meh, who cares? Certainly not me. Oh, don't be worried, the Mind isn't hurt anymore. I wouldn't allow it.

Chef Notes: God, no. There's no substitute for the Mind. There just isn't.
