Item # SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored inside a vanilla folder and locked in a fire-proof safe within Site-43's media archive. The lock combination is changed parodically every two weeks, only level two researchers and above allowed to interact with SCP-XXXX. All SCP-XXXX affected media is to be recorded and submitted to the project head before each test concludes.
As of Incident XXXX-1, images of SCP-XXXX are not to be uploaded to a device capable of data storage or electronic medium. In the event of accidental exposure, the unaltered files of the devices is to be copied before rebooting the entire system.
All proposals involving cross-testing SCP-XXXX with anomalous media is currently pending.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a set of six custom-made stickers (designated SCP-XXXX-A through F) resembling those of rating labels utilized by the film industry. Other than possessing the ability to not lose adhesion after multiple uses and self-repairs itself if damaged, it lacks any additional physical anomalies.
When an instance of SCP-XXXX is placed onto any form of media (Movies, books, video games etc.) the physical appearance and the contents of the media will be altered drastically, corresponding to the SCP-XXXX instance. Examples of alterations included: The additional or removal of curse words in dialogue, adding to or censoring any scenes featuring gore and nudity, and changing or completely removal of certain plot elements. All effects are reversed with the removal of the attached SCP-XXXX instance.
When an image of SCP-XXXX is uploaded to a digital device, whether a photograph or an artistic representation, the files that is stored will undergo similar alterations. Unlike physical attachment, digital iterations of SCP-XXXX are infectious, it is capable of spreading its effecting to other files and data stored on the device. In the case of where the affected device is connected to a network, the effects will also be transferred akin to a computer virus. Removal of digital iterations of are difficult as simply deleting SCP-XXXX will cause it be reuploaded instantly be unknown means. Only rebooting the affected device is shown to completely remove SCP-XXXX.
The Foundation was alerted to potential anomalous activity occurring on the popular forum board website, Parawatch after a user made claims he owned something "legit magical". The user then described SCP-XXXX and claimed he came to acquired the anomaly after doing some spring-cleaning under the stairs, discovering its anomalous properties by accident. After verifying the claims, the post was taken down with agents being sent to the user's home afterwards. SCP-XXXX was then taken into custody with the user being administered Class-A amnestics.
Incident XXXX-1:
After extensively testing SCP-XXXX's properties, Dr. Cann ordered his research team to
take a picture of the anomaly and upload it to its documentation file on Site-43's SCiPnet database. Almost immediately the file became altered by SCP-XXXX and eventually spread to the entirety of Site-43's SCiPnet. Fortunately the network was cut off before other Sites could be affected. On the suggestion of Dr. Cann and Dr. Dray, the Site Director authorized their SCiPnet to be shutdown and be rebooted, successfully eliminating SCP-XXXX from the database. Following this incident, the special containment procedures were updated to account for this new phenomenon. As Dr. Cann was unaware of the additional properties of SCP-XXXX, no disciplinary actions were necessary.

Hello Dr. Dray. Sorry I haven't called before, I was still checking on the SCP-XXXX notes when they pulled me in for a talk. They just wanted to know the full story, nothing more. I wanted to notify you that the database errors have been resolved and I updated the document like you asked. What do you think?

Dr. Cann,
Yes, I already saw the moment the document was back up. I want to thank you for suggesting that reboot trick, it would most likely taken us much longer to resolve the corruption if we did anything else. Fortunately for us both, the Site Director deemed that we weren't at fault for what happened. He even congratulated us for our endeavor. We dodged quite a hefty bullet there.

You're telling me, I thought for a second I was going to be fired from the project. It makes you wonder how many anomalies are in plain sight, only for them to cause quite the mess. Though I must admit I found it quite funny when I heard that the 682 document was effected by the G-rating. It managed to be cute and still terrifying at the same time. Still, nice to know that not much damage was done.
