SCP-XXXX

Item Number: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a standard medium-security anomaly locker in Site-29. Testing with SCP-XXXX is currently being performed by Site-29's research staff. Updates to these procedures are pending, dependent on the results of the testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Ka-Bar brand combat knife. Individuals injured by SCP-XXXX will develop highly prejudiced beliefs against various ethnic groups and will often attempt to perform violent actions against these groups if possible. Affected persons do not experience normal social inhibiting factors preventing them from acting on their prejudices. The effects of SCP-XXXX are not permanent and will gradually lessen as the injuries sustained from SCP-XXXX heal before disappearing entirely when the injuries close.

Addendum 1, Test Log 1:

Test XXXX-1:
Subject: D-13490 (White) and D-24570, (Hispanic).
Test: D-13490 was exposed to SCP-XXXX and then placed in a room with D-24570.

Test XXXX-3:

Subject: D-43901 (Hispanic) and D-80142 (White)

Test XXXX-2:
Subject: D-51403 (White) and D-76045 (African-American).
Test: D-51403 was exposed to SCP-XXXX, given an unloaded handgun1 and placed in a room with D-34581. D-51403 was offered 100$ to kill D-34581.
Result: D-51403 immediately attempted to shoot D-34581. After several attempts to fire the gun failed, D-51402 ran at D-34581 attempting to hit her with the gun. D-51403 was stopped by the supervising guards and removed from the room.

Test XXXX-3:
Subject: D-43616 (Hispanic) and D-65949 (White)
Test: The test from the previous log was repeated, but in this case D-43616 was offered 10$ to kill D-65949.
Result: As in the previous test, D-43616 attempted to kill D-65949 without hesitation before being stopped by the supervising guards.

Addendum 2: Incident XXXX-1: While handling SCP-XXXX, Researcher Michael Grooms unintentionally cut his hand with SCP-XXXX's blade. Researcher Grooms was quickly moved to Site-29's medical bay and then to memetic quarantine. Grooms was noted to be fully cooperative during this event. With Researcher Grooms permission, it was decided that an interview would be conducted to see what effects SCP-XXXX had on his mental state.

Interview Log XXXX-1:

Interviewed: Researcher Michael Grooms (White).

Interviewer: Junior Researcher May Capra (Hispanic).

Forward: Researcher Capra was brought in to interview Researcher Grooms and determine his mental state under the effect of SCP-XXXX.

<Begin Log>

Capra: Hello, Mr. Grooms. I am Researcher Capra and I will be conducting this interview today.

Grooms: H… Hello Ms. Capra.

Capra: Are you okay, Grooms?

Grooms; Oh, I'm fine. I'm just not used to being on the receiving end of one of these interviews.

Capra: You'll be fine, everyone at the Foundation has been exposed to anomalies to some extent. Things like this happen all the time.

Grooms: Y… Yes. I suppose you're right about that.

Capra: Anyway, I have a few questions I would like to ask you.

Grooms: Okay, I'll try to answer.

Capra: What is your opinion on me and my work at the Foundation?

Grooms: You… you seem fine… you seem good to me. I've never heard anything bad about you from any of the other staff here. In fact, as far as I remember I've only ever heard people say good things about you.

Capra: Thank you. Do you have any issues with Hispanic individuals in general?

Grooms: I don't think so, I hope I do not at least.

Capra: How about any other ethnic groups?

Grooms: Um… I don't believe so, but maybe I do but simply haven't noticed. You… have you noticed any problems with me?

Capra: I have not.

Grooms: That's… somewhat surprising.

Capra: This wasn't what I had expected either. You sure that there is nothing you would like to report?

Grooms: I… feel that there should be. I've seen the file for SCP-XXXX after all, but… no. I don't feel any different. I was actually rather nervous at the start of this interview because…

Capra: It doesn't seem like you've changed at all to me.

Grooms: Me neither, but maybe we're just missing something?

Capra: Maybe, or maybe SCP-XXXX is even more anomalous than we thought.
