Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 10 m x 10 m x 3 m plaster room with a 1 m x 1.25 m mirror and a wooden table of any size or quality. SCP-XXXX is not to be approached by more than one subject at any given time. Any publications containing photographic evidence of SCP-XXXX's existence are to be destroyed, electronically or physically. No surveillance equipment of any kind is to be present in the containment room of SCP-XXXX. Tests involving SCP-XXXX may only be conducted by personnel with Level 5 clearance or higher. Any instances of SCP-XXXX-A are to be cleaned out semiannually and placed in a separate standard storage container, with a limit of 500 per storage container. Up to 25 storage containers carrying SCP-XXXX-A may exist at any given time. Any additional instances are to be destroyed. As of ██/██/████, testing of SCP-XXXX-1 can only be authorized by personnel with Level 4/XXXX clearance or higher. SCP-XXXX is allowed to take flight while in containment; no further procedures are required.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an avian-type creature resembling a large specimen of corvus corax (the common raven) with an obtusely angled beak and a body that appears to ripple with color when directly viewed by one person; however, when viewed directly by two or more people, or when viewed indirectly, SCP-XXXX will grow wing-mounted talons and proceed to eviscerate the viewer(s) by immediately appearing behind them in order of priority with a screech that has been recorded to be above 150 decibels in volume, then attacking by raking the victim with its talons (Phenomenon XXXX-A). SCP-XXXX has the ability to enter mirrors and interact with objects in the reflected image. If this occurs, changes in the mirrored environment will manifest in the "real" world as if the SCP was present and directly influenced it. Attempts to communicate have been met with failure as SCP-XXXX appears to be physically incapable of anything other than a slight chirp unless Phenomenon XXXX-A is actuated. SCP-XXXX has been observed on occasion to enter a state of hibernation for up to 3 months (Phenomenon XXXX-B.) During this period of time no incidents of Phenomenon XXXX-A have been observed, and it is safe for 1 or more personnel to safely view SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX does not appear to be sapient or sentient. Phenomenon XXXX-A only affects people who have directly viewed it and does not extend to bystanders. SCP-XXXX sheds its feathers periodically over the course of 3 months (SCP-XXXX-A). Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are extremely lightweight and sharp enough to cut through a variety of metals, including lead and folded steel. SCP-XXXX has been shown to have used these feathers to aid itself during Phenomenon XXXX-A and victims of Phenomenon XXXX-A have reported seeing several razor-sharp objects fly through the air, cutting down several personnel in the process before . Incinerating the feathers has no effect, however blunt and sharp impacts work as normal. SCP-XXXX has resisted all attempts to retrieve samples since its discovery. SCP-XXXX was discovered in 19██ in █████████ after locals reported [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX, when awakened, is docile when viewed only by one person and no additional anomalous effects have been recorded. Request for SCP-XXXX's transfer to Site-██ pending. Reclassification to Keter pending due to risk of accidental viewing by two or more persons1.
