Special Containment Procedures: After Incident XXXX-1b, SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a bio-hazardous containment unit inside an airtight humanoid cell. Personnel entering SCP-XXXX's cell are to wear Level A hazmat suits with internalized SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) to avoid infection.
If either SCP-XXXX's containment unit is breached or if personnel are otherwise infected, non-infected personnel are authorized to enact Protocol Theta-6 (see addendum-1).
Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation given to an anomalous disease caused by a variation of the Cryptococcus gattii fungi. SCP-XXXX was developed by GoI-5102 ("Mortem Incarnatum1") in an attempt to revert ΩK. Prior to the ΩK-Class "End of Death" scenario occurring, the Group was considered a low-priority to contain due to their non-violent tactics and lack of funding.
Its anomalous nature is triggered when any living organisms in the kingdom Animalia under Cavalier-Smith taxonomy2 inhales the spores that SCP-XXXX produces. When inhaled, SCP-XXXX's subject will go into three stages:
- Stage 1: Symptoms of SCP-XXXX do not occur until around three hours after exposure. After such time, subjects that have inhaled SCP-XXXX will begin to experience moderate to severe chest pain. According to X-Rays, the subject's lungs will show clusters of black mold around and in the lungs.
- Stage 2: Symptoms of SCP-XXXX in this stage can vary as the SCP-XXXX spores are in the subject's brain. Symptoms that can present are as follows:
- Skin lesions
- Decreased heart rate
- Lower blood pressure
- Brain and CNS lesions
- Loss of fine motor control
- Increased adrenalin in the bloodstream by 8-10%
- Take over of the pituitary and lymph glands
- Psychopathic tendencies
According to follow-up examinations on this stage, SCP-XXXX would have infected an approximate 65% of the body.
- Stage 3: The third stage is when SCP-XXXX infects 85% of the human body. This stage of the infection has only been documented once by MTF Chi-7 ("Plague Tamers") during their investigation into a location of interest (See Addendum-2 for details) and during the Incident-XXXX. During this phase, the following effects at this stage are as follows:
- Extreme aggression
- Spawning SCP-XXXX spores across a majority of organs
- Increased bone density and muscle growth
- A hijacking of adrenal glands, increasing adrenalin in the bloodstream by 20-30%
- Lethargy
- Psychosis
- Hallucinations
- Light sensitivity
Since containment and enactment of Protocol Theta-6, no subject has ever reached this stage.
Addendum-1: Protocol Theta-6 is the corporeal disposal of the infected body and removal of said personnel's brain. If said personnel is in stage 1 of the SCP-XXXX infection, the brain is to be placed into a Buteo Exoskeleton immediately or a container to store the brain, should a Buteo suit not be available. If stage 2 infection occurs, the brain is to be removed and placed within a temperature-controlled container inside of SCP-XXXX's containment cell for further study.
Once the first part of the Protocol has been achieved, the second phase Theta-6 is to begin at once. The infected subject's body is to be incinerated and placed in a bio-hazardous container for testing. When Protocol Theta-6 has been completed, non-infected personnel are to then re-seal SCP-XXXX's containment cell and activate the UV lights to neutralize non-contained SCP-XXXX spores.
Addendum-2: SCP-XXXX was first discovered after the ΩK-Class scenario occurred. The following is the initial discovery log recovered from MTF Chi-7 during an investigation into a sudden fire at an abandoned Prometheus Lab near the city of Cancún, Mexico.

Exploration Team: MTF Chi-7 ("Plague Tamers")
Subject: Mortem Incarnatum Research Lab, Cancún, Mexico
Team Lead: Captain Lewis "Condor" Newell
Team Members: Zylus "Zuse" Anderson, Kyle "Mads" Michaels, Montana "Outback" Jacobs, Zoey "Rebound" Ashwood

Anderson: God, whatever did this was no accident. Condor, you think M.I. did something to this place?
Jacobs: Why on earth would they do something like this? They don't have the funds to make a new lab, or buy one, for that matter.
Anderson: I don't know, to hide something?
Newell: Can the chatter. We got work to do.
Chi-7 investigates the burned remains of Mortem Incarnatum Lab 13. Footage resumes when Ashwood discovers some shrapnel underneath some rubble.
Ashwood: Condor, what do you make of this?
Newell: Looks like some form of container. Bag it and tag it. I'm sure the boys back at base can work out what it is.
Ashwood: Yes sir. Sir, may I just ask why we're even here? This isn't what Chi-7 was meant to be doing.
Newell: Well, SiteComm. needed someone to check the area out and so here we are. Now come on, we got plenty of ground to cover so get back -
Anderson: (interrupting) Guys? We got something that you need to see.
Both Newell and Ashwood leave their area and rendezvous with the other Chi-7 members. Anderson then points to a hatch on the floor before pulling out his PDA.
Anderson: According to the schematics, there wasn't supposed to be a hatch here. Should we wait for back-up or investigate this?
Newell: I don't know, we may have to check this in with Command first.
Newell checks in with command and leaves to return to the van, reversing it closer to the other members. Newell opens the rear doors of the van.
Newell: Alright! We are cleared to proceed into the room with caution. Standard procedure for entering guys. I want to see those masks and tape on in sixty seconds or you can play sentry up here. Go!
Chi-7 equips their standard armor and weapons before presenting themselves for double checks and triple checks. Newell points to Jacobs and indicates the door.
Newell: Outback, mind unlocking the door for us?
Jacobs: I do mind… but I do like cracking open locked things.
As Jacobs places down breach charges across the locking mechanism, Anderson sends out current information to the other members of Chi-7 while Newell explains.
Newell: According to what we know, we're looking at a potential anomalous laboratory that could have security that can send you to last week. Be on your toes.
Michaels: What's the point in saying that? We're immortal now, so there isn't a point to saying be careful of bots or bullets or whatever shit they've got down there.
Newell: Congrats Mads! Since you're gonna whine about it, you just got picked for point-man. That way, if I can hear your backtalk, we know its safe to go in.
Michaels: Fuck.
Newell: Alright Outback, fire the charges!
Jacobs: Here we go!
Jacobs detonates the breaching charges
Newell: Mads, go!
The video feed switches to Michaels helmet camera, showing a dark and decrepit lab, along with several operating tables, all covered in mold spores.
Michaels: Team, you need to get in here.
Ashwood: Entering left.
Anderson: Entering right.
Newell: Entering center, (briefly pauses) Clear!
Anderson: Clear!
Ashwood: Clear here!
Newell: SiteComm., you getting this?
SiteComm.: We are receiving all right, you are cleared for entry, stay frosty.
Newell: We copy, proceeding to sweep the room.
The camera pans to rows of empty autopsy tables, all outfitted with restraining straps. There's what appears to be a homemade blast furnace built into the wall.
Ashwood: What the fuck is this place?
Anderson: Looks like a homemade morgue and crematorium combo to me, but I don't know why they would burn down the outside.
Newell: Who knows? How's the air looking, Rebound?
Ashwood: (Pauses to inspect the Anderson Sampler3 she brought in.) According to this, we should keep our masks on. Air's thick with a lot of particulates. I can't say what it is though until we get back to the lab.
Newell: Alright then. You heard her, guys. Keep those masks on. I don't want to be carrying this team out because you caught a case of the sniffles.
Michaels: Aww, and here I thought I'd get to be carried to safety by our fearless commander.
Ashwood: Hey, team, we've got another door over here.
Newell: Copy that. Everyone, stack up!
(The feed proceeds to switch to Newell's camera, as they proceed to breach the door. On the other side, they find a common area, overgrown with mold spores. There are 4 doorways in total, 2 on the left and the right.)
Jacobs: Looks like they did more here than corpse disposal…
Ashwood: Should we wait for Iota-5 for this?

MTF Iota-5 ("Zeus's Wrath4") was informed of the situation and arrived with the proper equipment. They had secured the infected M.I member and extracted all possible data. SCP-XXXX was soon discovered afterward. When it was discovered, MTF Iota-5 and Chi-7 was ordered to purge the lab with the use of UV lights after all possible data was extracted.
Interview-5601: After extraction of both infected members of the lab and SCP-XXXX, an interview was launched to discover the goals of GoI-5102, the use of SCP-XXXX and any information regarding other sites around the world.
Interviewed: An unknown member of GoI-5102, hereafter dubbed PoI-5601.
Interviewer: Agent Cal Hardgrove
Foreword: PoI-5601 was brought in for interrogation at Site-59. He was also restrained to the table with an armed guard to watch over him.
<Begin Log, 08:44>
Agent Cal: Let us get to know each other, what's your name?
PoI-5601: Those are not the questions you should be asking, dear friend.
Agent Cal: They may not be the questions I should be asking, friend, but their questions that need to be answered.
PoI-5601: Such a simple mind. I am surprised that you were accepted to become a Watcher in the Dark.
Agent Cal: A what now?
PoI-5601: The Watchers in the Dark. That is a name for your organization. Of course, we have known about you since we entered such a fantastic world… till the apocalypse happened.
Agent Cal: Define "apocalypse". Do you mean the End of Death event?
PoI-5601: Yes… the apocalypse happened and our group saw that it was our solemn duty to bring it back. To summon forth Death and lead humanity to what was rightfully ours!
Agent Cal: Right. (Pauses to look at notes) It says here in the transcripts that you were "blessed with Mortum's new gift to the world." Could you define that for us please?
PoI-5601: Why, (laughs for approximately thirty seconds) its one of the perfect ways to bring Death back to us! To show that we are worthy of it once more!
Agent Cal: Okay, I think that's it for us here. We'll call it there. Nice meeting you, PoI-5601. I'm sure we'll talk again soon.
PoI-5601: Does the Watchers cut things off when things were becoming so interesting?
Agent Cal: What does that mean?

Closing Statement: Since transmissions was briefly cut during the events of Incident XXXX-1, no video feed was receiving. When video feed was brought back, PoI-5601 was in the third stages of SCP-XXXX. Agent Cal was fighting PoI-5601 when MTF Chi-7 breached the interview room, burning PoI-5601 and used UV lighting to burn any spores of SCP-XXXX in the room thereafter.
Agent Cal was then brought to the medical centre for Protocol Theta-6 to be enacted.
Incident XXXX-1: After containing the SCP-XXXX spores produced by the subjects in M.I Lab and subsequently destroyed the bodies that were producing the spores, SCP-XXXX was placed in a reinforced Bio-Hazardous Containment Unit inside the bio wing of Site-59. However, during the interview of PoI-5601, SCP-XXXX's containment cell was breached after an attack from an unknown organization breached Site-59's containment unit.
SCP-XXXX spores was quickly spread around the Bio Wing before the automatic doors sealed off the spores from spreading around the site. The attackers left when SCP-XXXX was breached and MTF Chi-7 pursued them before ordered to retreat to perform the Theta-6 Procedure to those infected by the attack.
When Chi-7 had finished performing Theta-6 Protocol, investigation of SCP-XXXX's locker had brought out a note from the attackers left inside SCP-XXXX's containment locker.
Dear Watchers,
You have the golden opportunity to bring back death with our creation. In the old world, we were only shepherds to help guide humanity to a green and safe world. However, when death left us, most of humanity was overjoyed with the thought of immortality. That no one can die and we are free to live out our mortal dreams forever.
We are not those people.
We see that without death, the cycle is broken. If life grows out of hand, we immortals will have to pay the price. Death was meant to bring balance to the world. A final peace to those who starve in our streets, to those who live in pain, and to those who live in a world in-between.

Since it is presumed that GoI-5102 are the ones to have attacked Site-59 and are currently researching methods of reversing the effects of ΩK, the Foundation has placed them as a high threat to normalcy and are to be considered as hostile if encountered in the field.
