Special Containment Procedures: Site 117 has been built to contain SCP-4000. SCP-4000 is to be contained within an airtight containment chamber. Under no circumstances should any personnel come within 50m of SCP-4000. Once weekly, materials are to be carried to SCP-4000 by drone. These materials include two lit 18th-century tin lanterns, containing a singular beeswax candle, one vampyroteuthis infernalis tentillum, cleansed in holy water that has been blessed by at least one Anglican Church archbishop. In the case of a TIBS event, all personnel in Site-117 are to be immediately evacuated to Site-117's secure location.

SCP-4000 is to be contained within a standard containment chamber in Site-██. Once daily SCP-4000's chamber is to be checked for any changes in form or shape. In the case of SCP-4000 expanding, Lockdown Procedure Delta 445 is to be activated.

SCP-4000 is contained within the crypt of the Old North Church in Boston, MA. Due to the historical significance of SCP-4000, Foundation presence must be scarce. At all times one armed guard is to be posted outside of SCP-4000's location. Any civilians seen within the basement of the Old North Church are to be detained and administered a Class-A amnestic.

Description: SCP-4000 is a wooden doorframe consistent with early 18th-century American Puritan Churches. The frame includes multiple markings caused by sharp objects that have been carved in various locations in an erratic pattern. Languages found on SCP-4000 have included modern German, modern English, Latin, ancient Babylonian and one unknown lanuage. Within the doorframe is a Class C46 dimensional rift hereafter referred to as SCP-4000-Omega (Ω).¹ Within the rift is a separate dimension referred to as SCP-4000-Delta (Δ). The exact point of divergence has not been determined. Some differences to base reality include:

• A complete lack of artifacts and followers of the Catholic sect of Christianity.²
• Advanced military technology, including vehicles comparable to tanks hereby referred to as SCP-4000-A instances. Due to the lack of electricity, gasoline, or any source of energy powerful enough to power a machine of that size, it is unknown how these machines function. See final bullet point.
• A species of marine-based humanoid entities hereby referred to as SCP-4000-B. Some notable figures such as politicians and celebrities are replaced by SCP-4000-A instances.
• SCP-4000-Δ being approximately 243 years behind baseline reality, with the American Revolutionary War still in progress as of 4/18/2018.
• SCP-4000-A instances are powered by a massive tentillum shaped entity known as SCP-4000-C. It is unknown how SCP-4000-C receives and distributes energy.
• An instance of SCP-4000-B³ is seen riding a Equus caballus at 0000 UTC daily

Despite SCP-4000-Delta taking place during the American Revolution, recovered documents indicate that several notable events during the revolution are altered from baseline reality. These include the following:

The SCP-4000-A instance opened fire on the British soldiers creating 1000 cubic meters of water vapour. The vapour had evaporated following 20 seconds. Following the vapour evaporating, the British Soldiers and SCP-4000-A instance were missing from the scene.

D-30923 was equipped with a 10 day supply of food and water and was instructed to explore SCP-4000-Δ.
Day 1: D-30923 exited the church basement and began to explore the city of Boston.
