Hello [PLACEHOLDER-UserName]:
My name is WhiteGuard, and I am a staff member at the SCP Foundation Wiki. As part of the Wiki's Licensing team, I am writing to you today concerning your product(s) related to the SCP Wiki found here:
[PLACEHOLDER-EtsyLink]. This is perfectly alright, and we are not going to ask for your product(s) to be taken down. However, we do ask that your product(s) be brought into compliance with the Wiki's Creative Commons license.
Except where otherwise noted, all material on the SCP Foundation Wiki is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license. In short, this means that 1) all derived work must attribute the original author and, if possible, provide a link to the original work 2) the derived work must be released under the same Creative Commons license. A more thorough explanation can be found here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/. This means you are legally free to use them, but your use of them must also abide by the terms of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license.
Specifically, somewhere on your description page, you need to include a link to the SCP Foundation Wiki (http://scpwiki.com/) and a link to that license, along with an explanation that the SCP Foundation and all associated concepts abide by that license. Additionally, any derivative concepts that you produce based on those concepts must also be licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0, and you must include that notice in your description as well. This is so that individuals can both track down where your ideas came from and know that they can use and create similar ideas under those conditions.
So, basically, attribute the item(s) following the instructions above, and we will be all good. The following is an example:
"SCP-035" by Kain Pathos Crow, from the SCP Wiki. Source: http://www.scpwiki.com/scp-035. Licensed under CC-BY-SA.
This product is a derivative work based on the concepts, ideas, and logo found at www.scpwiki.com and as such is included under the Creative Commons License Attribution Share-Alike 3.0 license found here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello [PLACEHOLDER-UserName]:
My name is WhiteGuard, and I am a staff member at the SCP Foundation Wiki. As part of the Wiki's Licensing team, I am writing to you today concerning your SCP-173 [PLACHOLDER-Item] found here: [PLACEHOLDER-EtsyLink]. While we certainly appreciate fan-made work, there is a significant issue regarding the licensing of SCP-derived materials in general, and especially the likeness of SCP-173.
However, more important, is the particular case of SCP-173. For several years, site staff attempted to contact Izumi Kato, the creator of the sculpture whose picture was used for SCP-173. In 2014, Izumi Kato came into contact with us and allowed the likeness of his work, "Untitled, 2004", to be used for the SCP-173 article on the Wiki found here: http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-173. To be clear: the image of SCP-173 has not been released under the site's normal Creative Commons license; the creator simply gave his permission for the site to use it. Despite allowing us to use his image, he gave several caveats, chief among which is that the likeness of SCP-173 cannot be used in commercial works under any circumstances. His full response can be seen here: http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-76692/scp-173#post-2106398.
I do not represent Mr. Kato, only the staff of the SCP Foundation Wiki. It is obvious that you worked hard on this [PLACEHOLDER-Item], and we wish you nothing but success. However, your sale of a likeness of SCP-173/Untitled, 2004 is in violation of the SCP Foundation Wiki's Creative Commons license, and, more importantly, against the expressed wishes of Mr. Kato, which could ultimately lead to significant legal troubles for the SCP Foundation community. Therefore, we respectfully ask that you remove the SCP-173 [PLACEHOLDER-Item] from Etsy.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
