Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000-1-ARC is to be left to its own devices.

Description: SCP-5000-ARC refers to the SCP-5000 slot. Various SCP objects have been assigned to the SCP-5000 slot and redesignated as SCP-5000. Attempts to redesignate these objects have all resulted in failure.

When attempting to access the SCP-5000 slot normally, site personnel will instead be taken to a hub of sorts, with every object designated as SCP-5000 listed within it. To differentiate between each object, the documents are titled “SCP-5000:,” followed by a short nickname.

The following is a list of all documents designated as SCP-5000:

Both for experimental purposes and for regulation of the anomaly, the SCP-5000 slot was itself designated as SCP-5000. Notably, it was immediately added to the SCP-5000 list as though it were an SCP document like any other.

Addendum 5000.1: Shortly after SCP-5000-ARC was documented, a sapient, English-speaking raccoon with an unmarked laptop computer arrived at Site-01, claiming to be responsible for the anomalous properties of SCP-5000-ARC; the raccoon was designated SCP-5000-1-ARC, and the laptop as SCP-5000-2-ARC.

SCP-5000-1-ARC claimed to receive each SCP file on SCP-5000-2-ARC1 and that he was responsible for keeping the SCP-5000 slot and all affected documents up to standard. Notably, SCP-5000-2-ARC only accepted input of any kind directly from SCP-5000-1-ARC.

Foundation personnel attempted to retrieve SCP-5000-2-ARC, in an attempt to stop SCP-5000-ARC, but the effect not only persisted, but SCP-5000-ARC began affecting and incorporating documentation of substandard quality.

Due to SCP-5000-1-ARC's ability to filter and edit documentation on the database, and because without its assistance SCP-5000-ARC would be susceptible to spam, O5 Command authorized SCP-5000-1-ARC's actions. It was incorporated into the Foundation database maintenance structure, and its object class updated from Keter to Yesod.

Addendum 5000.2: SCP-5000 documents have slowly began to reassign themselves to into various Series 6 designations. Due to the peculiarities of this anomaly, research head for SCP-5000-ARC Dr. C. Bold conducted an interview with SCP-5000-1-ARC.

Bold: So, SCP-5000-1-

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Procy.

Bold: Pardon?

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Procy. I understand the need for protocol, especially being a guy running a big thing myself, but just say Procy. It's convenient, and makes everything easier for the both of us.

Bold: Oh. Um, okay. So, Procy, why don't you tell us a bit about what you're up to and why you're doing this.

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Excuse me?

Bold: You know, with the 5000 slot.

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Oh, right. I mean, what's wrong with it?

Bold: For starters, it's completely disrupting our designation system and all that. And the only reason we're letting you get away with it is because if we stop, you somehow spam our database with loads of garbage documents. But I'm sure you know what you're doing, I just want to know why.

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Okay, well first of all, I'm not the one making this crap. In fact, the 5000 slot existing is the reason for all the rubbish you're getting. You should be thanking me for taking care of that for you guys.

Bold: Again, it's the only reason-

SCP-5000-1-ARC: But besides that, the reason I'm doing this is for the contest.

Bold: I'm sorry. Contest?

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Yeah. For the 5000 slot.

Bold: Seriously? You're taking our well-documented, perfectly functioning database, and reorganizing everything for a contest?

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Yes. That's- that's what I just said.

Bold: Why?

SCP-5000-1-ARC: Why do you think? 5000 isn't just any old number, and we can't just let the first schmuck who gets to it take it. Only the best

It remains to be seen which SCP object will be selected for the SCP-5000 slot, but due to the high likelihood of this article's designation and the information within being subject to change, it has been archived and redesignated as SCP-5000-ARC.
