1:52 AM <RockTeethMothEyes> I've been trying to brainstorm on this GoI format item and I'm walking myself in circles trying to think of a solid idea.

1:54 AM <RockTeethMothEyes> Depending on the effect (which I'm stuck on for some dumb reason) it could be supplemental or have involvement with our art theives.
2:00 AM <RockTeethMothEyes> I'm bouncing between a compulsion effect or a illusory effect, but those are cliche and don't seem too impactful respectively.
2:03 AM <RockTeethMothEyes> The main thing here is connecting it's occult properties to it's history. I think my hang-up is that I keep aiming for a practical effect, X effect being created for fulfilling some trivial purpose when it was made. Given that this is an artist, I don't know if they would have made something for its practical applications when it could serve as an aesthetic/performative/entertainment piece.
2:05 AM <RockTeethMothEyes> It feels like it has to be expressive of the composer at the time. Maybe it's a composer that exists in real life. Maybe it's one that never existed.

There are a few interesting things about it. It's commonly attributed to Mass Hysteria brought upon by Ergotism, similar to what happened with the Salem Witch Trials.
Except on a much larger scale
and several victims were cured upon being brought to a shrine of St. Vitus, patron saint of dance.

Ideally, it would be something to do with the plague

So a lot of people were said to have danced until their feet bled.
And on top of that, a treatment for the dancing plague was bloodletting, in order to get rid of 'hot blood'.
So… maybe this tapestry or whatever you decide this piece to be is dyed/painted with the blood lost during the plague?

That sounds a bit disconnected to the rest of the piece
It depicts the Dancing Plague, right?
Why doing a art painting at all if you just wanted to cool people’s blood down?

all right, let me try to clarify.
So, this thing was likely made by an artist who witnessed the dancing plague, most likely. Maybe they were even affected by it. And they saw the torture people went through— dancing so hard they broke bones, their skin burst open, and they dropped dead of strokes and exhaustion. He makes an item depicting that piece, but why? To serve as a warning? A deterrant? A record?
If it's serving as a deterrant, then inducing lethargy in those who view it makes sense.
