Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a chamber insulated with multiple layers of soundproof material. The chamber is surrounded by a series of analogue audio sensors which, if triggered, will automatically initiate a full site lockdown and cut all facility power. MTF Eta-11 (“Savage Beasts”) will then be deployed to re-contain SCP-XXXX.

No electronics or any devices capable of wireless communication are permitted within 40 meters of SCP-XXXX’s chamber. Maintenance on SCP-XXXX’s chamber is to be conducted by deaf D-Class personnel. Any personnel entering SCP-XXXX's containment cell capable of hearing are required to wear earplugs rated at 120db noise suppression.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a device measuring approximately 43x57x123 centimeters constructed from particle board, a 12.6-volt car battery, a Texas Instruments TI-68 scientific calculator and various scrap electronics. SCP-XXXX has the apparent ability to charge itself, despite exhibiting no detectable energy transfer outside of the device.

Between 11:15 and 17:15, SCP-XXXX will intermittently emit a sound similar to television static, designated SCP-XXXX-1. Initially, SCP-XXXX-1 is harmless, though some exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 have reported mild discomfort. After a subject has been exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 for exactly 4 minutes and 16 seconds, they will abruptly disappear. All attempts at communication and tracking have failed.

Any electronics exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 will also begin to emit SCP-XXXX-1¹. SCP-XXXX-1 can also be transferred through wireless connections, meaning that any electronic device capable of transmitting a wireless signal (phones, computers, routers, etc.) can infect the entire internet almost instantaneously.

Addendum XXXX-1: During an experiment testing new equipment designed to filter out SCP-XXXX-1’s anomalous properties, containment was breached. After containment was reestablished, the following recording of SCP-XXXX-1 was found to have no anomalous properties.

When isolated, the phrases in this recording were identified as quotes from the Christian Bible, specifically Revelation 11:15² and Thessalonians 4:16³.

While attempting to reestablish containment, one member of MTF Eta-11, Chief Miles Edwin, and the lead researcher, Doctor John Landry, were exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 in both filtered and unfiltered form for just over 4 minutes and 16 seconds. Chief Edwin disappeared after exposure, but Dr. Landry seemed unaffected.

Dr. Landry: Frazzled, but under the circumstances I’m sure that’s completely normal.

Dr. White: Others exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 have described a sense of discomfort, do you feel anything like that?

Dr. Landry: The only “sense of discomfort” I feel is the one which comes after your experiment causes a very dangerous anomaly to breach containment.

Dr. White: Doctor, I realize we don’t usually do these types of interviews so soon after a breach, but as you said, these are unusual circumstances.

Dr. Landry: …Of course. No, I don’t feel anything like that.

Dr. White: I understand you’re Christian, is that right?

Dr. Landry: Yes, I was raised Catholic.

Dr. White: Considering the recording we got of SCP-XXXX-1, I’m sure you’ll agree that’s worth exploring.

Dr. Landry: Perhaps, but you’ve read the logs. It has the same effect on everybody who’s been exposed to it, even Christians. Even that priest.

Dr. White: They were all D-Class. Most people who practice Christianity stop after their first year working for the Foundation, but you’ve been working here for over 12 years and you still consider yourself a Christian. Why?

Dr. Landry: That’s… a big question. I, uh, don’t suppose there’s any way this interview can be off the record, is there.

Dr. White: We need all the information we can get.

[A brief pause.]

Dr. Landry: [Sighs.] I feel that working for the Foundation… brings me closer to God. Nothing I did before could compare to what I do now – our work has a real impact on the world. Every day we spend putting monsters in cages or keeping an ancient idea from turning peoples’ minds to mush, we’re saving humanity.

Dr. White: And what about God? There’s a seemingly endless supply of entities who claim to be God and have the power to back it up. For that matter, there seem to be quite a few devils too. Who’s the one true God, or the one true devil?

Dr. Landry: Good and evil don’t have a single source in this world. They’re a part of the universe, and they can come from anywhere inside it. The only one, true source could be the entire…

[Dr. Landry trails off, staring blankly past Dr. White.]

Dr. White: Doctor?

Dr. Landry: Could… be–

[Dr. Landry abruptly disappears, and Dr. White quickly stands up from her seat.]

Dr. White: Doctor… Shut it down, NOW! SHUT EVERYTHING DOW–

Containment teams found no evidence that SCP-XXXX-1 had affected any device within 40 meters of the interview room.

1. This is regardless of whether the device normally has the ability to produce sound. Ovens, power strips and light bulbs have all proven capable of emitting SCP-XXXX-1. A device does, however, require power to emit SCP-XXXX-1.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX instances are kept in a standard containment locker at Site-64. A unit of MTF Pi-1 (“City Slickers”) will remain deployed in Portland, Oregon until such time as SCP-XXXX-1 is found.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to all missing person posters depicting 7-year-old Waldo Emerson, designated SCP-XXXX-1. SCP personnel stationed in Portland, Oregon became aware of an unusual tendency for residents of the city to discuss the possible whereabouts of SCP-XXXX-1, and a thorough survey revealed that this phenomenon affected just over 80% of residents. 30 instances of SCP-XXXX were located and contained, after which interest in SCP-XXXX-1 dropped significantly. It is assumed that exposure to SCP-XXXX causes an anomalous proclivity to search for SCP-XXXX-1.

Special Containment Procedures: Members of Mobile Task Force Psi-9 ("Headshrinkers") are to be placed in various therapy and social work positions in Seattle, Washington. Additionally, Foundation-operated webcrawler (I/O-SEAPSY) is to monitor activity (searches, posts, etc.) of internet users in the Seattle area for signs of SCP-XXXX manifestations. Any individuals showing high risk of generating an SCP-XXXX manifestation, or signs that they are already being affected by the anomaly, are to be evaluated by MTF Psi-9. If an SCP-XXXX manifestation is confirmed or the probability of it occurring is determined to be significant, its target will be counseled accordingly. If counseling fails to counteract SCP-XXXX, its target is to be amnesized, issued a new identity and relocated.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an amorphous mass of human flesh, currently estimated to be between 700 and 900 kg. It is unknown whether the anomaly is sentient or sapient. Targets' accounts suggest that it has the ability to move through or integrate itself with solid matter. The exact form of SCP-XXXX appears to be related to the mental state of its target.

SCP-XXXX chooses targets primarily in the Seattle area suffering from extreme social isolation. Once present, SCP-XXXX has an antimemetic effect which causes its target to become difficult to perceive, and makes the anomaly itself nearly impossible to perceive to anyone but its target. Targets often fail to recognize SCP-XXXX as a threat, instead treating it with indifference or, in severe cases, affection.

Across all manifestations, SCP-XXXX's end goal has been to assimilate its target. As SCP-XXXX increases in mass, the range of its ability to choose targets also increases. The latest recorded target was a resident of Renton.
