Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept within it's original record holder located at Site-72's Anomalous Items Storage Wing B. The record holder should be locked with a Master Lock brass padlock at all times when not in use. The record isn't to be removed from it's original laminated sleeve unless in the case of testing which should be approved by Dr. Torres prior to the SCP's collection as to eliminate the mishandling and/or misuse of the scp.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard record album. The physical record is composed of violet tinted polyvinyl chloride, chemical analyze of which indicates that the composition differs from a standard record only in the form of metal filings having been added for the purpose of aesthetic appeal. The record has simple black labels that only indicated the current side of the record and the songs found on that side. Each side of the record holds approximately 28 minutes, slightly exceeding that of a standard record of the same size and rpm (12 in, 33 1/2 rpm). The record sleeve consists of laminated paper with printing covering the entire sleeve. The front side consists of the words "Funky Grooves With Jimmy Yeti and Jacob Phoenix" in the shagadelic font place over an image of a Koch Snowflake. The Koch Snowflake uses various shades of red, violet, green, blue, and orange to color its parts. Every 2.31 seconds, new triangles appear to bud from the original snowflake continuing the fractal. The backside of the sleeve contains a description of the record and the band along with a list of songs found on the record (See list below for more info). Any recording studio labels, producer labels, royalties, or copyrights are missing entirely.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects manifest upon being played within any standard record player connected to a 120v, 60hz main power supply upon which a CK-Class Restructuring Scenario will begin to affect a radius of 2 meters around the record player. The area affected by the event will begin to resemble that of one of two sides of the planet Upsilon-Andromedae-B. Playing side A of the record will result in the area becoming that of the hot side (designated Φ or Kautó) while playing side B will result in the cold side (designated X or Pago). Entering the affected area will result in a subject being able to observe the surface of the planet, most usually being described as "The embodiment of hell itself," or "I'm pretty sure this is just Russia." Testing of the temperatures inside the affected area and subject testimonial has revealed that the internal air temperature is the same as the temperature of the room the event began in and can be influence by that of the surrounding air. Exiting the anomaly the same way one entered results in the subject being seamlessly teleported to the actual surface of the planet. The CK-Class Restructuring Scenario can be ended at anytime by lifting the needle of the record player or by letting the record natural finish playing. Do to the anomalies teleportation abilities, many expeditions have been led on the surface of Upsilon-Andromedae-B. Expeditions on the surface of the planet has led to the discovery of multiple extraterrestrial species including, but not limited to, a subclass of humanoid instrument creatures. Structures resembling that of human origin have been found scattered around the planet containing items of non-human origin. A list of recovered items can be found below along with expedition logs and a comprehensive list of creatures studied from the surface of the planet.
