Special Containment Procedures:

New instances of SCP-XXXX-A should be sought out and contained. Any instance discovered that is deemed small enough by a containment engineer should be relocated to an individual secure locker at Site-45. If relocation is not appropriate, a perimeter should be constructed to prevent access or damage. Every perimeter and locker, should include motion-activated alarms within their construction. These alarms should be set up to alert an armed response team. Armed response teams are to prevent unauthorised entry into any instance of SCP-XXXX-A with lethal force, if necessary.

The perimeter of each SCP-XXXX-A instance should be checked weekly to check for integrity of the perimeter, with maintenance carried out when needed. Personnel are limited to one expedition into SCP-XXXX-B ever, to prevent further loss of information about SCP-XXXX-B. Personnel assigned to Area-69 within SCP-XXXX-B should spend no longer than 5 years within SCP-XXXX-B. Any names of Class A, B or C personnel who will be exposed to SCP-XXXX-B should be blackboxed to prevent the inhibition of documents containing them when the persons in question are within SCP-XXXX-B.

At no point should an instance of SCP-XXXX-A ever be brought into SCP-XXXX-B. (See test log 13.)

Description:

SCP-XXXX is a number of dimensional rifts localised within archways, with each instance of dimensional rift within an archway being classified as an instance of SCP-XXXX-A. There are believed to be 4000 instances of SCP-XXXX, with 3452 currently in containment. Upon entering any instance of SCP-XXXX-A subjects be instantanously relocated to a dimension henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-B. Any living thing within SCP-XXXX-B cannot be remembered outside of SCP-XXXX-B. This memory-suppressing effect also affects materials relating to people within SCP-XXXX-B. Upon exiting SCP-XXXX-B, these memory-suppressing effects cease.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-A have ranged from 0.23cm x 0.23cm1 to roughly 50m x 20m.2

Notable forms taken by instances of SCP-XXXX-A have included:

  • SCP-XXXX-A-1 : A brick arch from a derelict building (Note: This was the first instance discovered by the Foundation.)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-2 : Back door of a liquor store in (Note: Was the second instance of SCP-XXXX-A discovered)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-13 : Between the roots of a mangrove tree in D█████, Australia. (Cut out and relocated)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-121 : Within a doorway for a set of miniature model scenery (Relocated)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-154 : Within a natural arch at P███ C███████ National Park, Australia (Since neutralised)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-1142 : The wedding ring of Doug Danely (Doug was amnesticised and his ring was replaced; this was the smallest instance ever located. Upon placing it on one's finger the tip of the finger dissapears into it and is forgotten to have ever existed.)3
  • SCP-XXXX-A-2233 : Somewhere famous mabye (Note: Placeholder rn tbh)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-2562 : A small link of mesh fencing intended for keeping rodents (Note : This is the smallest instance recovered as of yet.)
  • SCP-XXXX-A-3132 : Undersea somewhere (Note: Placeholder rn tbh)

SCP-XXXX-B is a small planet, measured to be approximately 40% the size of the earth.4 It is believed that exactly 4000 SCP-XXXX-A have been present on earth for the last 40,000 years. Due to this SCP-XXXX-B has an ecology comprised of species from Earth, although the flora and fauna are from everywhere instances of SCP-XXXX-A are found, and from the last 40,000 years. In addition to plants, animals, bacteria and fungi, SCP-XXXX-B is also home to several groups of humans. 5 separate cultures are present, each with a population less than 40.

In addition to the living inhabitants of SCP-XXXX-B, a duplicate of all instances of SCP-XXXX-A are present within SCP-XXXX-B. Each duplicate is connected with the instance in the real world, and entering one in the real world will lead to the duplicate in SCP-XXXX-B, and vice versa. The geographic location of SCP-XXXX-A instances on Earth do not appear to coincide with their duplicates location upon SCP-XXXX-B. Due to this, educated navigation through SCP-XXXX-B could theoretically be used by the Foundation to dramatically decrease travel times around the Earth.

Discovery:

(THIS PART NEEDS CLINICAL TONERING URGENTLY) SCP-XXXX was first brought to foundation attention after Richard Ghurt, the mayor of the small [country] town of [name] was reported to be missing for 3 weeks, right before he reappeared. However, he had been replaced without ever being taken out of office. Townspeople interviewed by the foundation reported that they had been without a Mayor for 6 months (the amount of time Richard Ghurt had been in office) and so elected a new Mayor. SImultaneously they also reported that Richard Ghurt went missing and were relieved to have their mayor back after 3 weeks. Richard Ghurt was interviewed and both mayors were given class-B amnestics, and Richard Ghurt was reinstated. The entire town was issued Class-A amnestics.

After intial containment of SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX was thought to be a single instance but after 3 instances of SCP-XXXX-A had been contained by the foundation this idea was dispelled. SCP-XXXX was also thought to manifest at random locations, but after SCP-XXXX-A-233 was discovered Senior Researcher A██████ noticed that the locations of each instance were arranged in a pattern.

Following the mapping of said pattern, instances of SCP-XXXX-A are known to manifest along three (3) hypothetical 'rings', each spanning the Earth's circumference, which intersect at two points on direct opposite sides of the globe.5 Each point is monitored, due to their central location, but thus far no instances of SCP-XXXX-A have yet been observed within 40km of either of this intersections. Each SCP-XXXX-A instance appears to be an unremarkable archway, either natural or constructed, but will clearly demonstrate anomalous properties when entered.
