Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored within a standard humanoid containment cell within Site-17. No less than 8 Scranton reality anchors are to be located within the containment cell, placed at each of the corners of the room. Proper medical amenities (i.e. IV bags, catheter, heart monitor, etc.) are to be regularly maintained to ensure SCP-XXXX's survival.
Description: SCP-XXXX is the comatose body of James Montayre, a 19-year-old Caucasian male. SCP-XXXX was discovered nearly dead on November 14 of 2022, alongside the emaciated corpses of 18-year-old Sophia Humboldt, 17-year-old Trevor Tuckerman, and 18-year-old Andrey Trifonov outside of a location in Athens, Georgia which was, at the time, in the process of being investigated by the Foundation due to reports of anomalous activity, and was a visibly restricted area.
It is believed that Montayre, Humboldt, Tuckerman, and Trifonov were attempting an amateur investigation of the location before being attacked by a hostile anomaly. Humboldt, Tuckerman, and Trifonov were killed instantly. Montayre, however, is believed to have survived due to an involuntary self-preservative reality-bending ability, which prevented his death but rendered him comatose.
SCP-XXXX emits an anomalous form of radiation, SCP-XXXX-1, approximately evenly throughout a spherical region, SCP-XXXX-2, which expands in radius by approximately 2 percent per day. SCP-XXXX-1 has two primary effects:
- Decreases Hume levels in SCP-XXXX-2 over time at a rate of approximately 1 percent per day. This effect can be countered by the use of Scranton Reality Anchors.
- Heals or outright prevents minor wounds and reduces healing time for major wounds. No methods are currently known to counter this effect.
SCP-XXXX-1's reality-degrading effect was discovered almost immediately, but its secondary effect was first detected on June 21 of 2023, at which point SCP-XXXX-2 had an approximate radius of 100 meters.
Addendum XXXX-A: On August 20 of 2023, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX-2 not only heals or prevents minor wounds and accelerates healing on major wounds but also prevents death upon receiving and succumbing to an otherwise lethal wound or condition, instead rendering the victim comatose for a currently indeterminate length of time.
