Her hull creaks and groans, not the staccato pop-pop-pop of Soviet hull but the slow pop-creak-pop of reinforced American steel straining just above crush depth. She is the last sister of a solemn sisterhood, the last arrow of an empty quiver, the final vengeance of an unforgiving cabal.
