Special Containment Procedures: As of ████-██-██ SCP-X is housed at Site-93 in a containment chamber outfitted with a drain system. SCP-X is available for testing to all level 2 or higher researchers. Only D-Class personal may directly interact with SCP-X without the order of a level 4 or higher researcher.
Description: SCP-X appears to be a normal stand-alone shower measuring two and a half meters tall and one and a half meters wide. Upon further inspection the drain inside the shower is absent. When any individual attempts to bathe inside SCP-X no anomalous effects will manifest during the shower. However, upon the conclusion of the shower the individual will no longer be able to speak in any languages they previously were fluent in.1 Instead the subject will become fluent in the same number of different languages. The way by which other languages are selected is unknown. SCP-X was discovered on July of ████ by Agent ██████. As of ████-██-██ 5 tests have been conducted with D-Class personnel.2
Addendum 1:
Addendum 2: SCP-X was discovered by Agent █████ on ████-██-██. Foundation forces were alerted to the existence of the anomaly following a couple arriving in a hospital after having their linguistic skills altered. Foundation forces managed to amnestize all involved personnel after interrogation of the couple. SCP-X was found in the bathroom of Mr. and Mrs. Smithers after being sent to them by their adult daughter. Foundation forces located Miss Smithers in Kansas City, (Kansas) working as a freelance visual effects artist. The following is a transcript of the interview.
Interviewed: Amanda Smithers
Interviewer: Dr. Bart ███████
Foreword: The following took place on ████-██-██ at 0420 hours.

Dr. ███████: Good morning, Amanda, My name is Dr. Bart ███████ and I'd like to ask you a few questions. Will that be allright?
Amanda: Sure, but-
Dr. ███████: Brilliant, now, full name please.
Amanda: Amanda Jane Smithers, wait please, I'm sorry but who are you?
Dr. ███████: I am Dr. ███████, but Bart will do fine.
Amanda: No, I mean like, FBI? NSA?
Dr. ███████: I'm afraid I am not in a position to tell you. However, I'm sure that if you answer our questions we can work something out.
Subject remains silent.
Dr. ███████: How did you come into possession of SCP-X, the shower you sent to your parents.
Amanda: I bought it. I bought it as a present for their anniversary. I knew they wanted to remodel their bathroom so I was happy to chip in.
Dr. ███████: How would you describe your relationship with your parents?
Amanda: Well, I would consider it a positive relationship.
Dr. ███████: How did you aquire the shower?
Amanda: I bought it off Ebay. It came in several packages with assembly instructions.
Dr.███████ scribbles down notes on a clipboard.
Dr. ███████: I would like to thank you or your cooperation so far. That's all for now.
Two security officers escort Miss Smithers to a Level-0 temporary containment chamber.

Dr. ███████: Good morning, Amanda. How are we doing today?
Amanda: I'm doing fine, thank you, but I have a question.
Dr. ███████: Yes?
Amanda: When can I go home?
Dr. ███████: You may return home once you tell the truth and answer my questions honestly.
Subject's face reddens and Subject becomes agitated.
Amanda: What do you mean? I've answered every single one of your questions honest-
Subject is cut off by Dr. ███████.
Dr. ███████: You claimed that the shower for a gift for your parents anniversary, you-
Amanda: It was! I swear it was, please let me go!
Subject looks frantic and begins to stand but is forced down by two security officers.
Dr. ███████: Amanda, we both know that isn't true-
Amanda: It is! It's the truth I-
Dr. ███████: Amanda, your parents anniversary is in three months.
Subject freezes and looks towards the floor of the containment chamber.
Dr. ███████: You seriously think we wouldn't check your story?
Subject is silent.
Dr. ███████: We also looked through your Ebay account. The last purchase was made two and a half years ago.
Dr. ███████ pauses before continuing.
Dr. ███████: Do you know what I think happened, Amanda? I think you sent that shower to your parents as revenge.
Amanda: I'm sorry, It was just supposed to be a temporary inconvenience, make them ostracized from their community. If they were to all of a sudden not know how to speak any language their friends could understand it would spell disaster. Nobody would be able to communicate with them. I'm so sorry.
Dr. ███████: Are you aware that your creation has a secondary affect? When a subject that is fluent in a high number of languages enters the shower and breathes the steam for a long period of time they experience an neural overload. This results in the left frontal lobe bursting and death from blood lost.
Subject pales and looks horrified.
Amanda: I never- It wasn't ever my intention…
Subject trails off.
Amanda: I just want to forget about all this.
Subject begins sobbing
Dr. ███████: We can arrange that, but I need some answers. Can you work with me?
Subject immediately stopping crying and straightens in her chair.
Amanda: Yes.
Dr. ███████: Excellent, now, how did you make the shower.
Amanda: Well, it's not the shower, not exactly anyways. The shower does what it does thanks to a picture I painted on the inside.
Dr. ███████: What picture? No personnel have observed a picture on the inside of SCP-X.
Amanda: Well, it's there, you just can't see it.
Subject pauses before continuing.
Amanda: No that's not right, you can see it, you just don't know you're seeing it. That's one of its effects, pretty neat right?
Dr. ███████ scribbles on his clipboard.
Dr. ███████: Very well, Amanda, I will be seeing you in the future.
Dr. ███████ begins to exit the chamber but pauses and listens to his earpiece.
Dr. ███████: Oh! That's right
Interviewer turns back to face Subject.
Dr. ███████: Pardon me, Amanda, but I have one last question.
Amanda: Shoot.
Dr. ███████: Why did you make the shower?
Subject pauses.
Amanda: I was tired of my parents ignoring me. Always to busy with their hot-shot jobs and famous friends to take the time out of their day to understand to their own daughter. I just wanted them to feel what I felt, to never be understood by the people they value most. I just wanted them to like me. I just wanted to be cool.

Closing Statement: Subject was escorted back to her cell in Site-93. Per the advice of Dr. ███████ subject is to be introduced into the Disposable-Class program. Amnestic treatment has not been authorized at this time.
