Special Containment Procedures: No SCP personnel or civilians are permitted within 100 kilometers of SCP-XXXX-2, unless authorized by site director Martin Rondowitz. No authorization is to be given to civilians, and only to be given to SCP personnel when interaction is required with instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 100 kilometer circle located 150 kilometers due east of [REDACTED], Hawaii, United States. At the center of SCP-XXXX is SCP-XXXX-2, which is a stable and attached lounge. A sign hangs prominently in front of the complex, reading "Morgan's Stable," and in smaller text below, "Best horse rides in Hawai'i!" The stable can accommodate thirty (30) horses simultaneously. The lounge contains a secretary's desk, magazines, and fifteen (15) chairs located along the walls. Only seven (7) magazines have been analyzed thoroughly, and have publication dates ranging from 7/1/1952 to 19/5/1952. The other magazines appear to be of roughly the same time. Publications include Life Magazine and Time Magazine. There is single bathroom attached to the lounge. The entirety of SCP-XXXX-2 is in perfect condition, showing no deterioration. Architectural styles of the building place its construction date roughly in the late 1940's and early 1950's.
SCP-XXXX-2 is the home of instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Instances manifest generally as half-Homo sapiens1 half-Equus ferus caballus2 hybrids. The upper body of a human is attached where the neck normally emerges from an Equus ferus caballus. The fur of the Equus ferus caballus extends up to above where the human belly-button would be, however the latter is not present. The mane of an Equus ferus caballus is present on the back of the Homo sapiens' upper body, and is integrated with the Homo sapiens' hair. All common Equus ferus caballus varieties are present amongst the instances. Further biological description is only available to Level 3 security clearance and above. If the term "instances" is used, assume it refers to these instances. These instances may also be referred to as "hybrid instances."
Other instances manifest themselves as Equus ferus caballus. These have never emerged from the stable since 23/11/2015. They were previously sighted carrying civilians into the hills. For every Equus ferus caballus and civilian pair that went into the hills, one instance of SCP-XXXX-1 emerged. Today, there are approximately twenty-four (24) instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Each instance is distinct, and appears to have its own personality. These instances will be referred to as "equine instances."

Instances eat the grass in the hills of SCP-XXXX.
Documentation retrieved by SCP-XXXX-1-X reveals the "Morgan" of "Morgan's Stable" is M. Morgan. M. Morgan was a doctor in the United States navy, serving aboard the USS [REDACTED] before working for the Advanced Research Projects Association. His relationship with ARPA is unclear, as the United States government has refused to relinquish further information.
Increased radiation levels were recorded around the metal disc where instances are created. The Foundation has been unable to identify the source of this radiation. All Foundation requests to survey the area have been denied, and the Foundation is only permitted entry when its personnel have the intention of becoming instances.
Discovery: At 17:34 UTC, 08/11/15, social media user [REDACTED] uploaded a video clip to various social media platforms. The clip gained popularity quickly, and soon many internet users were aware of it.
The clip was recorded with the front facing camera of the user's cell phone. The user angled the camera so that SCP-XXXX-2 was visible, and began speaking about his joy to be at SCP-XXXX. After 5.7 seconds of video, an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 emerged from SCP-XXXX-2. The user's facial expression changed roughly 0.8 seconds later, from a look of happiness to concern and angst.
He began moving away from the instances, and appeared to be uneasy. He called out to them repeatedly, and the camera was neglected; it fell to his side, and the view of the instances was obscured. The instances did not respond to the user's shouts. The camera then jumped upward again, and the instances could be seen trotting towards the user. The camera appeared to shake as the user began running towards his vehicle, where another civilian can be seen sitting in the driver's seat.
The user entered his vehicle and pointed the camera out the back window as the driver began to vacate the area. Approximately 5 seconds later, the clip ended, totaling a time of 49.42 seconds.
Within eight minutes of the initial posting of the clip, Foundation disinformation efforts began. Undercover SCP personnel credited the clip as a hoax, and began deleting videos where disinformation efforts were proving unsuccessful. The Foundation deleted all uploaded clips and mentions of the video during the period of time between 10/11/15 to 19/7/16. The clip now only exists on a secure Foundation mainframe.
The user and driver of the vehicle were issued amnesiacs.
Initial procedure for containment of SCP-XXXX was to assist instances in their efforts to take civilians into the hills of SCP-XXXX. However, after a group of three (3) male civilians resisted and were terminated on 18/11/15, the procedure was updated to its current state.
Tests:
Test A - 21/11/2015
Subjects: SCP-XXXX-1-V, Vern Miller, Xena Do
Goal: Collect data regarding the nature of SCP-XXXX, specifically the events that occur in the hills of SCP-XXXX.
Instructions: Subjects to approach SCP-XXXX-2 in an unmarked motor vehicle and follow all instructions of instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Subjects to be friendly towards any instances. All happenings to be filmed.
Happenings: Subjects approached SCP-XXXX-2 and encountered hybrid instances of SCP-XXXX-1. The instances were not hostile, and asked subjects to leave their vehicle. The subjects did so. They were then instructed to mount equine instances and follow the hybrid instances into the hills.Vern Miller was then instructed to ride to the center. He obliged. The instances then asked if he would become an instance. He objected, and in a flash of light disappeared. In his place an Equus ferus caballus emerged. Xena Do went through the same procedure and also declined, and he too was replaced by an Equus ferus caballus. SCP-XXXX-1-V went through the procedure also, however he agreed to become an instance. A white light flashed, and he became in instance. He was then led back to SCP-XXXX-2 and accepted into the community.
Results: Vern Miller terminated, Xena Do terminated, SCP-XXXX-1-V turned into an instance.
Analysis: It is suspected that the consciences of Vern Miller and Xena Do remain intact in the Equus ferus caballuses that appeared in their places. This is most likely the process through which all instances are created, though the instances themselves refuse to speak of their creation.
Test B - 23/11/2015
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1-X
Procedure: Subject was instructed to approach SCP-XXXX-2 and go into the hills with the instances. He was then to accept the proposal to become an instance. He recorded the whole time.
He approached SCP-XXXX-2, where he encountered instances of SCP-XXXX-1. The instances gave him an Equus ferus caballus and led him into the hills, and after one hour and twenty-three minutes (1:23) he arrived at the metal circle. He was instructed to go to the center, and asked if he would become an instance. He agreed, and in a flash of light was transformed into an instance. He then was led back to SCP-XXXX-2, where he now resides. Test B is still ongoing, in an attempt to investigate the culture of the community.
