Item #: SCP-XXXX “The Goddess of Death”
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within Dr. Jullia Tatsu’s house at site 15 for the current time. At this moment in time, an actual containment for SCP-XXXX is being set up at either site 06-3 or site 88. One foundation personal is to be with SCP- XXXX at all times and report any requests to the site supervisor and watch over for any unusual activity from SCP-XXXX. Any foundation staff requiring the assistance of Dr. Jullia is to get the approval of whoever is currently on duty to watch SCP-XXXX at that point. SCP-XXXX is then to be escorted to the anomaly in question.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a five foot six female humanoid currently inhabiting the body of Dr. Jullia Tatsu with long silver hair going down to its waist, although it has stated numerous times that its true form is fair different besides the hair. The silver hair according to XXXX is what reminds it that XXXX is still itself. Something that it clings onto to remind itself every day that there may still be a way to separate it and Dr. Jullia. Research into such a solution is being looked into.
From what SCP-XXXX has shown about its abilities it can confront those dying and guide them to the afterlife. It also holds a blade that states help guide it when it is lost and does not know where to go. All testing seems to indicate that while abnormally strong for a blade, it holds no special powers what-so-ever.
SCP-XXXX is not able to control when people die but can choose if they can survive whatever event is causing them to die. XXXX states that while its job may be similar to other gods in the universe its main priority is to rule over the afterlife and XXXX is shown to be very knowledgeable on world events and is approximately as old as the universe itself. Despite this XXXX does not claim to know everything in the world and is quite limited on details of many subjects like world history and the internet
SCP-XXXX Was accidentally discovered when Dr. Jullia Tatsu was testing an anomaly at site 15 when an explosion caught Dr. Jullia. When foundation staff arrived on site they found an unconscious Dr. Jullia and the anomaly had disappeared. After taking Dr. Jullia to the medical bay it had been noted that her hair had turn silver. After four days Dr. Jullia woke up but was not able to recognize any staff members nor recall what the foundation was. At first, it was thought she had lost her memories however after further testing on Dr. Jullia it had been revealed that while Dr. Jullia’s vital signs were stable she was seemingly unconscious despite her body being able to move around freely and capable of thought. Quickly this anomaly was taken in for an interview
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewers: Dr. Veronica Emily
Date: 10/23/19
Begin Log:
Dr. Veronica: So, SCP-XXXX, how exactly did you come to inhabit the body of Dr. Jullia?
SCP-XXXX: If I knew I would be leaving by now, trust me. I was here to help her get to the afterlife when she died… Unfortunately, it seems like whatever she was testing caused this.
Dr. Veronica: Yes it is quite unfortunate for both parties. XXXX can you describe what you feel like at this very moment?
SCP-XXXX: My head feels fuzzy and I'm slightly dizzy, from what I can tell seems Ms. Jullia is in an in-between state. As if her body is alive and well but as you can see… I'm in her body.
Dr. Veronica: I see. XXXX, you said you were here to help Dr. Jullia get to the afterlife. Are you some sort of death guide akin to the gods like Hades or Thanatos?
XXXX Chuckles at the comparison and speaks
SCP-XXXX: Well I guess you could use the comparison, however, I’m kind of a mix between the two, yet not like them at the same time. I am the Goddess of Death itself. I go to where people die and collect them, sometimes I’m early like in Ms. Jullia’s case, and sometimes I’m a bit late due to collecting others. It’s dependent on where they are and such. I even rule over the dead and make sure their afterlife is peaceful. If I’m not able to get to them one of the gods or goddesses of life will normally help make up for my slack…
Dr. Veronica: When you say that, would that also apply to this kind of situation where you seem to be very limited.
XXXX nods while twirling its hair with one finger, awaiting for questions from Dr. Veronica
Dr. Veronica: Is there any possibility you could leave the body you inhabit at the current moment or-
Before Dr. Veronica can finish she is interrupted by XXXX speaking in a somewhat harsh tone.
SCP-XXXX: If I knew how to do that I wouldn’t be here at all. Like it or not this is also my first rodeo in this kind of situation.
XXXX crosses its legs while leaning back in its chair and sighs
SCP-XXXX: Ugh, this ruins all of my plans I had later today.
Dr. Veronica: What kinds of plans would a goddess of death make XXXX?
SCP-XXXX: I was gonna get coffee, sit down with one of the gods of life, and chat about what's going on right now in the afterlife. Just another normal day of work…
XXXX's tone because somewhat angered as it raises its hands in frustration
SCP-XXXX: At least before this that is!
Dr. Veronica: Talking to a god of life about the afterlife over coffee? Are all gods like this or it is just you and a few others?
SCP-XXXX: Eh
XXXX shrugs while sitting back up before putting a finger to its chin to think, then continues
SCP-XXXX: I mean I can safely say the majority of gods do it like that. There are some old-timers stuck in their ways, but I've always done it like this.
Dr. Veronica: Would you say that you are more like humans in your activities?
SCP-XXXX: I may be the goddess of death but in a way, yeah, I’m just like you mortals. I live life, I eat food, drink water. I can easily be mistaken for a normal human Ms…
Dr. Veronica: Just call me Dr. Veronica.
SCP-XXXX: Dr. Veronica? All right then. Anyhow in my normal form, I appear just like any other human. However, I have certain abilities that help me do my job, speaking of which! May I do something to see if I still have my abilities?
Dr. Veronica: Due to the situation I'll sadly have to decline that request. Testing with you will be done later but at this very moment, I ask for you to sit down and keep answering questions.
XXXX sighs in disappointment before looking at its hands and looking at Dr. Veronica
SCP-XXXX: From what I can tell this body seems to be in a state of eternal life due to me taking it over… I'm uncertain as to what I can do though.
Dr. Veronica took notes about what SCP-XXXX said before putting down her note pad and continuing to ask her questions
Dr. Veronica: Because you are in Dr. Julia's body do you have any of her memories and or an idea of how the foundation works?
SCP-XXXX: I- I think? It's fuzzy but I seem to know a few things about this place. I know some stuff that I've never seen before, but it's incomplete, like a broken puzzle yet to be complete
Dr. Veronica: Thank you very much XXXX. Hopefully, we can get this problem sorted out and both parties can go on their separate ways.
End Log, Five Ten P.M PST
Conclusion from the interview: After this SCP-XXXX was put in Dr. Jullia’s house and watched by on-site personnel. Dr. Veronica then reported the interview to foundation supervisor and requested that testing be done on XXXX to see if it may be able to fill in Dr. Jullia's role

<Begin Log, 8:30 A.M EST >
Dr. Veronica: Good morning SCP-XXXX
SCP-XXXX: Morning… I need some coffee.
Dr. Veronica: I will see what I can do for you after this interview. SCP-XXXX you stated before you are the Goddess of death, care to explain a bit more?
SCP-XXXX: I sense when people die and I go to them so I can guide them to the afterlife. Not much I can explain there.
Dr. Veronica: How has such a life affected your mental state? Do you feel bad for humans when you have to take them away from their families or do you see it as just another part of your job?
Scp-XXXX: Hmmm… . . If I had to say, I, of course, feel bad. Some people had lives and families, but suddenly they get it all taken from them in one instance. While I can prevent slash ignore the deaths of those said people and let them keep living, it isn't like that all the time. I've seen mothers break down over the deaths of their children, fathers swearing and cursing the heavens while also trying to comfort their lover. It's some harsh stuff, but I think it's important I remember I don't know these people.
Dr. Veronica: Care to clarify XXXX?
Scp-XXXX: Think of it like a character you're not too attached to in a book dying. Yes from a story perspective it's tragic, terrible, it's a harsh loss. But to you, the reader, you know it's sad and feel bad however you don't feel sad. There isn't this aching in your heart causing you to tear up like those in the story. That's kinda what it's like to me.
Dr. Veronica: What about mass death, did events like-
Scp-XXXX: Ugh! The only thing those kinds of things do is give me a massive headache! So many people die at those times! I get overwhelmed and I can't just have those deaths be ignored. The gods and goddesses of life have to jump in to help pick up my slack, and even then I think we're still missing a lot of people. Could explain the high number of reports of a ghost in the human world.
Dr. Veronica: So missing people's death cause ghosts to appear?
Scp-XXXX: Yeah! So when a priest or priestess tries to do an exorcism it tends to catch the gods and goddesses' attention. That's when we normally show up and take them away.
Dr. Veronica: I see. We shall continue this interview at another time, thank you for cooperating XXXX.
Scp-XXXX: Get me that coffee while you're at it.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: [After the interview SCP-XXXX was escorted to Dr. Jullia's work position for testing to see if it could replace Dr. Jullia's role for the time being, and Dr. Veronica put in a request for XXXX to get coffee, obviously declined ]

<Begin Log, [9 P.M, 12-2-19]>
Dr. Veronica: Hello again XXXX. Can you please describe what it was like living with other gods?
SCP-XXXX: It's nearly Christmas ya know…
Dr. Veronica: XXXX, please answer the question.
XXXX sighs before leaning back in its chair and starts playing with its hair
SCP-XXXX: Around this time we'd be starting to decorate the palaces and each other's rooms. I remember when I and Eve stunk into one of the bigger god's rooms and put huge banners and we made a big cake.
Dr. Veronica: I assume Eve is another goddess?
SCP-XXXX: Yup, she was like my big sister when I first appeared. She showed me all the ropes around the palace. When we found out I was a goddess of death she was the one who tried to understand my powers the most.
Dr. Veronica: Were there any other gods who were like that to you?
SCP-XXXX: There were a few. The old-timers weren't too happy about a goddess of death just randomly appearing when everything was so peaceful. Then humans happened so that was also fun for them. I remember they were freaking out, to a newcomer in the palace it was a strange introduction I have to admit.
SCP-XXXX starts laughing to itself as Dr. Veronica shakes her head while smiling slightly
Dr. Veronica: I see. It sounds like quite the family introduction. Earlier you stated that you did activities with this "Eve" goddess during Christmas. Besides that what kind of activities did you do?
SCP-XXXX: Hmm…. Hmmmm… Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Dr. Veronica: XXXX, please answer the question.
XXXX once again laughs while also rubbing the back of its head. When it continues talking. XXXX hesitates for a moment and looks down at the ground before shaking its head and looking slightly at Dr. Veronica //
SCP-XXXX: Sorry, sorry. It's just been so long since I've gotten the chance to talk about them. I guess I couldn't help but goof around a bit.
Dr. Veronica: Understandable XXXX.
SCP-XXXX: Well besides meetings and the events that would bring us all together, we were sadly pretty separate. I ruled over the afterlife and rarely got to see the others when I started to pick up. Of course, they would stop by to visit, but just being able to relax in the palace without a care in the world is something I rarely got to do.
Dr. Veronica You spoke earlier that when humans started to appear one of the gods freaked out, why was that?
SCP-XXXX: Well us gods, of course, knew of life, the others were gods of life after all. They create, and then when the time comes I take the life which dies to the afterlife. Humans appearing just made them mad because they had no idea what was going to happen then.
Dr. Veronica: You keep mentioning your silver hair outside of interviews. What does-
SCP-XXXX: It's all I have to prove I'm still me even in this body.
SCP XXXX tone becomes sharp as it starts to explain how the hair is like a symbol of death and that its hair is like a sign of identification. After a lengthy monologue, Dr. Veronica continues
Dr. Veronica: Out of all the gods you know which are the oldest?
SCP-XXXX put its index finger on its chin and tapping its foot for approximately thirty seconds before answering.
SCP-XXXX: If I'm being honest, no clue. We all have memories from when the universe was started. A few others along with myself even have memories from before the universe as we know it came to be. Maybe I'm the oldest, though as you can tell I don't act like it! I'd rather eat pineapple pizza than act like an old stuck up goddess!
Dr. Veronica: I see. Perhaps you could then share the memories you have of before the universe XXXX?
SCP-XXXX looks down and does not respond to the question. It slightly looks up at Dr.Veronica before looking back down. Repeated attempts to get XXXX to answer the question fail and the interview is cut short.//
[Repeat as necessary]
<End Log, P.M.>
Closing Statement: [After XXXX was taken back to Dr. Jullia's work station to continue testing on it. Dr. Veronica requests to interview XXXX about the roles of gods and why it has mentioned multiple gods ]
Veronica woke up somewhat dizzy. Was it the fact she was hung from a night of drinking, or the fact she went to sleep at one o’clock in the morning and woke up four times. She didn’t know, nor did she care. At the current moment, all that mattered to her was her creature's wings. She walked downstairs and opened her fridge. Ahh finally. Those wings she had been waiting to eat for so long. She put them in the microwave and turned to her desk with at least twelve feet of papers stacked upon it. Well, it wasn’t going to get done itself.
Cleaning herself up she smirked; her smile seemingly as wide as a bridge, and let out a giggle. Clapping both her hands together she nodded and went off to the stacks upon stacks of paper.
However, it wasn't too long into her work when all of a sudden she heard a buzz. It went on for a few moments before stopping, then suddenly starting again. Try as she might she couldn't help but give the occasional glance over to the source of the buzzing and let out a groan.
"Just a little longer Veronica, just a little longer!"
As she worked the buzzing did not stop. She took a breath, looked at the device, back at her work, and repeated a few dozen times before putting her hands on her face and letting out a sigh. She snatched the device and quickly answered the buzzing
“Hello, Veronica is not able to pick up at the moment-”
“Veronica!" A voice came out of the device sharply causing Veronica to nearly drop the phone before catching it. "I know it’s not your voicemail this time. Please, this is important.”
Veronica closed her eyes and let out a slow, slightly off-putting laugh before answering.
“What is it Julia, I’m trying to get work done.”
“It has to do with our job of course! You’re needed on sight!”
“Listen, that’s all well and good buuuut… Science is more important to me. That place isn’t science, it’s a daycare at the end of the day.”
“Well if by daycare you mean a place where we contain some of the most dangerous anomalies the world has to offer…" Suddenly there was a slight paused from this Julia on the other end. Veronica raised an eyebrow at such an event before putting her free hand to her chin. Before being able to process what was happening "THEN YES IT’S A DAMN DAYCARE!”
Julia's voice boomed from the phone enough to make it sound like the line itself was breaking up. This caused Veronica to nearly drop her phone as she let out a sigh and covered her right ear. Julia knew how to raise her voice. This was what, the twentieth time since the new decade?
“I don’t work there anymore.”
“I know you quit to start doing your research on the creatures, but we need all the help we can get right now! Please, Veronica.”
“No.”
And with that Veronica hung up. Julia called back and Veronica ignored it. This happened four or five more times before Julia gave up. Back to the research. Veronica for a moment stayed silent before throwing both hands up in the air and letting out a loud "Yes". She looks towards the creature
“I guess this is the first real step I’ve taken in this whole thing huh. Stepping away really gave me a chance.”
Taking a bite of the wing of the creature on her plate she made sure to savor the taste. She didn’t know how or why, but these wings seemed to have some effect on her. Besides the physical change that came with eating the wings over a long period of time all she had to do was look in the mirror to see the other effect.
“I don’t get how the wings of those creatures can increase one's life. Rats, butterflies, fish… Just what about these wings make a creature live longer and grow at an unnatural rate? Logically speaking, it’s something akin to a fountain of youth but… Ugh.”
She sighed as she turned to her books. Without the funding of her former job researching was a lot harder than it used to be. The restrictions though? She happily left those old things behind to do as much experimenting as possible. And now it was time to take a look at her most prized experiment. An actual-
Suddenly that buzzing came back and Veronica glanced down at the phone expecting Julia however:
“You’ve got to be fucking with me?!"
She blinked a few times, looked around her house, and then back down at her phone. Barely able to even make a sound she slowly reached for the phone as she closed one eye. "H-hello there! I'm assuming Julia gave you this number right?”
A dead silence came from the other end of Veronica took a breath and cleared her throat.
“Listen here! I don’t work for you people anymore! You have no control over me or my experiments and I’m not helping you.”
More silenced followed as Veronica's face slowly shifted into a mix of concern and anger.
“What! Are you going to threaten me with one of those contracts?! You know those don’t work on me anymore! What are you going to do then?! Send one of your reality benders why don’t cha?! Let’s see how that goes!”
More silence as Veronica's voice grew increasingly louder and more frantic.
“I don't care what you think! I work for myself and no one else! Your so-called ‘law’ has been failing, again and again, to keep your scientist from leaving! You can play at your little daycare all you’d like but I’m trying to do something useful for once! I'm trying to make sure humanity doesn’t die from something that it has no control over! So for the love of the many gods you have contained, stop calling me!”
Then a response came, “It’s about that place”
Her eyes widened as she looked back at her experiment. The creature had its wings slowly moving as if it were a machine. The silk on it cause Veronica She tapped her foot on the hardwood floor and put a hand on her long orange hair. Her mouth moving but no words coming out. Before long Veronica let out a grunt and slammed her foot on the floor. As she spoke her words came out slowly, but there was a bite that could be felt over the phone.
“You have no control over me! Just remember that!”
“Very well.”
Looking down at her phone she sighed and took a breath before going to her kitchen and looking down at her sink.
"What did I just get myself back into…"
