Special Containment Procedures: [Due to the sheer size, mass, and volume of SCP-XXXX; SCP-XXXX is uncontainable by Foundation means. However, existing planetary forces such as Gravity, the existence of the Planets Lower and Upper Mantle, and the Earth's Crust; SCP-XXXX is assumed to be naturally contained.
Seismic sensors around the globe are to be monitored at all times, and any seismic activity that triggers all known or most seismic sensors are to be noted and filed accordingly.
The Earth's Magnetic field is to be observed at all times, any and all states of Earth's magnetic feild, changed or constant are to be noted Monthly, and filed accordingly. All Mantle pressures are to be observed and recorded, with notes taken daily only on the day of, and the following 10 days after the Summer Solstice. ]
Description: [SCP-XXXX is beleived to be a creature composed entirely of Iron and Nickel. SCP-XXXX is estimated to be approximately 12,000km in diameter, with a rough spherical shape. The entity maintains a body heat of an estimated 6,000°C on average.
An exact description and or list of physical features are currently unobtainable; due to SCP-XXXX's living environment.
SCP-XXXX is a creature of unknown origin, primordial in nature, as this creature is believed to have existed to some extent before the creation of Earth as we now know it.
It is currently believed that the existence of SCP-XXXX is responsible for the existence of Earth's Magnetic Field, and thus is responsible in a sense, for protecting earth from deadly solar radiation, and solar winds.
SCP-XXXX has been shown to move slightly periodically, and with movement all seismic sensors will depict feint signals almost simultaneously around the globe. Such events have been designated the title of "shifting events".
No recorded shifting events have been observed to cause destruction to Earth's crust, as 99.95% of said shift's energy is dispersed and absorbed by the Lower and Upper Mantle. What little energy is left, by the time it reaches the earth's crust, results in vibrations to small to be noticed by Life living on the crust; unless recorded by Seismic sensors.
All recorded shift events, have shown parallel changes in the Earth's magnetic fields.
SCP-XXXX has also been recorded to spew mass, from different locations, depending on positioning. Given that the mass has been noted to have different origin points, it is now assumed, that the entity has an orface of some kind, and has been deemed the creatures mouth for ease of understanding. Although it should be noted, that it is unknown if this orface is in fact a mouth, or if the concept of mouth could even be applied to such a creature. The spewing of mass has been designated the title of "Exhalation events".
Exhalation events are noted to have much more energy behind them then prior stated shift events. The difference in seismic scale is minimal, but notably different. Exhalation events can be more accurately catagorized as seperate from shift events, as the Earth's magnetic feild does not undergo any noticeable 'shifts' or changes.
Exhalation events are noted to increase pressure in the upper and lower mantle, adding more magma and heat to the Mantle as a whole. Pressure is only released in the event that a volcano errupts or ocean volcanic vents leak. If volcanic activity does not equalize Earth's Mantle's pressure, before the next exhalation event, it is noted that seismic activity from either exhalation events or shifting events will result in a stronger seismic reading, presumably due to the Mantle being denser, and thus absorbing less of the shock from SCP-XXXX's activity. No changes in the Magnetic feild are noted from years when the mantle's pressure fails to equalize.
Exhalation events last approximately 10 days, and begin annually upon the summer solstice.
Shift events are not predictable, as they happen spontaneously, presumably at SCP-XXXX's own discretion and will to shift.
It is unknown if SCP-XXXX is sapient, or even capable or thought; however seismic and magnetic feild recordings have shown similar patterns in movement from shift events, as found in animals undergoing hibernation. It is for now assumed SCP-XXXX's shift movements are similar to hibernating or sleepings animal's movements; it's just trying to get comfortable. Although it is to be noted, that it is still unknown if the idea of comfort even applies to SCP-XXXX. ]

Discovery and proof of existence Log #01.
Thanks to collaborative efforts of researchers around the globe, seismicgraphical data has always shown periodic yet minimal vibrations that occur almost simultaneously around the globe. Possible explanations have been proposed by various researchers as to why such events occur. Hypothesis have ranged from shifting and or melting glacial ice sheets, as demonstrated with the famous 1997 "Bloop" seismic readings. However the Bloop was most audibly picked up in the ocean, and delays in seismic graphical readings allowed the origin of the Bloop to be found and explained as Ice sheets in Antarctica.
Given that the Seismicgraphical data of Shift and Exhalation events aren't limited to the ocean, the conclusion was drawn that the origin of the vibrations wasn't from the ocean, and therefore ice sheets were not responsible. Similar conclusions were drawn about tectonic plates and their respective fault lines. Given that the movement of tectonic plates, while felt around the globe, still had seismic graphical delays, allowing for an origin of the vibrations to be pinpointed on Earth's most surface layer, or Crust layer. This lead many researchers to hypothise that the origin must be below the earth's crust, however without more supporting data, the hypothesis was shelved and deemed insignificant.

Discovery and Proof of existence log #02.
In 2015, Nasa launched a rocket containing 4 high tech satellites capable of observing and mapping Earth's magnetic field. Upon initial inspection of the mapping, it was noted that the feild was capable of turning and or shifting. While this was a new discovery, it was not alarming upon initial inspection. Mapping was to be recorded, and changes such as shifts were to be noted by Nasa's researchers.
Upon the next shifting event of SCP-XXXX, the Magnetic field was observed to rotate and shift only a few minutes before the shifting event was noted via seismic data. The next following 4 shifting events, saw the same movement of the Magnetic feild, all only a few minutes prior to said shifting events occurrences. Connections were drawn between the Seismic Events and the Magnetic field shortly thereafter.

Discovery and Proof of Existence Log #03
The idea of the Earth's Core providing the planet's Magnetic feilds has been largely accepted as fact by the scientific community for decades now. Which corresponding data, the debate on why and how the Earth's core seems to be moving is ongoing. It's all but an indisputable fact now, that the planet's core moves, and with it, the planet's Magnetic field.
Given that no such anomalis traits had yet been made obvious, it's no wonder the Foundation had yet to notice that the actual planet's core might be something more then a hot metal ball.
The idea that the Earth's core is in fact a living entity, was never considered until now.

[Incident Log XXXX-Alpha]
Description; on ██/██/2018, A solar flare of Considerable size was fired at earth. Satellites spotted the solar flare ahead of time, and calculated that it would strike at ██:██. Solar flares generally not being lethal to organic life, was largely ignored in that regard. However knowing that Solar Flares have EMP like capabilities, advisory warnings were sent out to all world governments, to prepare their most important technologies, as to avoid temporary collapse in communications, and uphold whatever technologically run systems that are deemed neccesary.
At ██:██ on ██/██/2018, all satellites were set to shut down temporarily, as to avoid total system failure.
The solar flare struck at ██:██, and all world governments were back online at ██:██.
Upon rebooting of Satellites, scans and planetary images taken just before and after the solar flare were received.
On inspection of magnetic scans, multiple irregularities were noted.
[Before Solar Impact Magnetic Scan] A large magnetic mass from Earth's magnetic feild, appeared to headed towards the incoming flare. This is notable as solar flares have only been documented pushing on the Magnetic Feild, as the Magnetic feild streches and disperses the impact of solar flares. The magnetic mass seemed to be reaching out towards the flare this time.
[After Solar Impact Magnetic Scan] The magnetic mass appeared to have a large crevice in the center, while maintaining walls. The scans likeness was of a funnel, leading down twoards the center of the Pacific Ocean. The magnetic feild was then observed rapidly repairing itself, and returned to normal within 10 minutes, after impact.
[Before Solar Impact Thermal Planetary Scan and Planetary Imaging Scan] it appeared as if a large volcanic vent opened on the ocean floor, in the middle of the Pacific. A mass presumably composed of magma with temperatures reaching 5000°C appears to be breaching the surface of the water. Large plumes of steam and volcanic ash are noted to have reached into the upper stratosphere. The mass appears to be located, underneath the planet's magnetic mass.
[After Solar Impact Thermal Planetary Scan and Planetary Imaging Scan] The mass composed of magma appears to have breached the surface of the water, however, it does not seem to be following typical behavior of Lava. While still reading temperatures of up to 5000°C, it appears to have formed a large cone down to the ocean floor. The plumes of steam and volcanic ash are observed to be spiraling, in the shape of a funnel, down into the cone of magma and lava. Further scans show the plumes of volcanic ash to retreat back into the cone of magma and lava, followed by the collapse of the volcanic tube. Even further thermal scan, show the magma retreating into the vent on the ocean floor. The steam plumes are seen falling in temperature, and falling down into the open area where the magma cone was just moments ago. The steam plumes appear to have condensed back into water and taken the place of the now, nonexistent molten lava cone.
All thermal scan after this show the ocean vent cooling rapidly, until temperatures are indistinguishable from the rest of the ocean floor. This Oceanic repair event took place within 10minutes.

brainstorming
Here i want to show 3 fishing vessels were within visial distance of the plume. I will update SCP discription to include the Magnetic funnel, and element made funnel as a feeding event. The SCP eats solar flares. I then want to have interviews with 2 of the fishing vessels captains. The third fishing vessel will have been so close to the event that they were effectivly steamed alive.
I will of course need to include how the Foundation quickly put together the pieces of what happened, and how it led to the discovery of SCP-XXXX. I do not plan to add cognitohazardous effects to the SCP, but maybe have temporary effects from breathing in volcanic fumes?
I'd maybe like to add that the SCP only eats solar flares it deems threatening to the protective layer of the mantle. The crust. Further brainstorming required
