The Speaking Stone

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a soundproofed room measuring 12m on each side. The Room is to have a podium with a glass case in the middle of the room which is about 3m on each side. Approval of at least one (1) level 3 personnel is required for the testing of the object from its containment area.

Description: In appearance, SCP-XXXX resembles a graphite rock, thought to be over a thousand years old. This rock was discovered when two mountain climbers heard a noise while climbing the Himalayas. SCP-XXXX has the ability to speak to humans and lure them in to listen to what the stone has to say. After the person had been lured in, the human will start to go insane from the words it has to say. After exposure to SCP-XXXX, humans will remember what it had to say, making them go insane, even when not near the rock. SCP-XXXX brings paranoia to everyone in its radius, making them stay up for nights to days, remembering what they were told.

Recovery: After many other reports of people climbing the Himalayas and becoming insane, including two (2) foundation personnel who went there for a trip, MTF located and retrieved the stone while wearing sound-blocking headphones. They then put SCP-XXXX into a soundproof container, to be sent to Site-██. It has been there since 20██ and has stayed there since. It has not been moved, due to the fear of important personnel becoming insane when in the radius of SCP-XXXX.
